Dinosaur red, dinosaur blue, wherever you look, there's a dinosaur for you! Paul Stickland's merry band of dinosaurs are leaping up and down to help teach the vital concepts of shapes, colours, numbers and opposites.
Children's book illustrator, author and paper engineer. Creator of many books including Dinosaur Roar!, Ten Terrible Dinosaurs, Dinosaurs Galore, The Christmas Bear, One Bear One Dog, A Number of Dinosaurs, Truck Jam and Big Dig.
The book is for very young, beginning readers. It does numbers from 1 - 10. When you turn the page, on the left hand side is the number written very large with it spelled out underneath. On the right side is a large illustration of that number of dinosaurs. Underneath of that is a short, simple sentence explaining the action the number of dinosaurs is doing.
There was a display of dinosaur books at the library last month, so needless to say, we ended up coming home with several dinosaur books. This book is a simple counting book with a dinosaur theme and decent rhyming. Christopher read it to me in only 1 minute, so it was a little too easy for him, but it's cute.
Large numbers on left hand page allow tracing the shape of the numeral before enjoying the rhyme and illustration on right hand page. Best counting book so far.
