Short sweet and to the point on the basics of dog breeds. It helped to have good pictures of each dog as well. As mine is a mix of two very different dogs it was good to have the same type of decription pattern for each dog.
Unlike most dog breed books out there, this one actually provides a sizeable reference, complete with rather accurate, short description of the breeds' character and needs. If you want to invest in a coffee table dog breed book, this is a good option to look into.
Well, this book is outdated, but I got this as a gift from my family when I was 11, so it's very dear to me. I remember wanting a dog so bad (a German Shepherd, to be specific), but my parents thought I was too young for a dog. I finally got it when I was 15. Now I'm 24 and my dog Bartas is sill with me! :) I love him very much. As for the book itself, it's definitely informative, even in 2018, loved how clearly it's written. Although, I would've loved more information on some of the dogs, not just the same repeated sentences. The pictures are great, good quality, I'm a sucker for pet photography. I'm glad I didn't threw this book away like I did with some of my other books (an action I regret to this day).
One of the great things about this particular dog breed guide is that it does cover many rare breeds, which are commonly left out of other dog breed guides. Unfortunately the set up is messy, some information is incorrect and there are spelling mistakes!
This isn't my favourite dog breed book, but it's a good one for beginners, or people with more interest in rare breeds.
loved this book shows all the details of most known dogs in the world and shows details on dogs breeds ive never heard of i never really thought of how many breeds of dogs there actually is in the world well, definately more than i thought lol
