The ultimate "square parent who doesn't Get It tries to blame all sorts of stuff for kids' problems rather than face the real issues" book. I feel sorry for Pat Pulling, given that she clearly went off the deep end here as a displacement activity after the suicide of her son, but this reaches David Icke levels of paranoid nonsense. oh dear... the Finnish afterwords were even worse than the main text...jeez. It was all well and funny until the Christian propaganda began. Then it just got boring.
How do I rate a book like this? It is a book filled with both fear and grief. These days, it is easy to see how rotten the foundation of it is. So many discredited incidents (McMartin Preschool) and individuals (Thomas Radecki) are cited. But one cannot forget that Pat Pulling caused real harm in perpetuating the Satanic Panic.
