About the author

Rose Estes is the author of many fantasy and science fiction books, including full length novels and multiple choice gamebooks. After contributing extensively to TSR, Inc.'s Dungeons and Dragons Endless Quest series (of which she wrote the first six, as well as others later down the line), she wrote her first full length novel, Children of the Dragon (1985). She continued to write for TSR by writing six volumes in a series of Greyhawk novels. She contributed to other series, but continued to write books and start series of her own that, like Children of the Dragon, take place in a fantasy or science fiction world created by her own imagination. She also wrote the Golden Book Music Video Sing, Giggle and Grin.

Ich mochte diese Folge. Ich habe das Hörspiel gehört; es war sehr temporeich und vollgepackt mit Ereignissen. Manchmal ein bisschen zu übertrieben und zu dramatisch, aber das kennt man ja inzwischen von dieser Reihe :)
Für mich hatte es viele Rätsel, und das mag ich ja immer besonders gerne.
Wendungen, Überraschungen und gute Unterhaltung.

"Die Indianer kannten kein Erbarmen". Ich liebe die drei ??? aber jede Folge mit Ureinwohnern oder Asiaten ist schwer zu ertragen.

Naši Traja pátrači dostanú záhadný odkaz od neznámeho starca, aby za každú cenu zachránili Tancujúceho dinosaura. V dome známeho archeológa naozaj nájdu malého predhistorického dinosaura, skameneného v platni so zlatými zrnkami. No vzápätí im ho ktosi ukradne. Pátrači nevedia, aký je tento predmet dôležitý pre dovtedy neznámy indiánsky kmeň – Národ vetrov. A tu sa začína nebezpečná naháňačka za Tancujúcim dinosaurom. Do hry vstupuje aj prefíkaný podvodník a na druhej strane náčelník Národa vetrov, ktorý sa skrýva so svojimi ľuďmi v horách a v tajomných jaskyniach. Aké nástrahy čakajú Troch pátračov pri hľadaní vzácnej skameneniny?

Náhodou som zočila v knižnici a keďže ma minulý zväzok príjemne prekvapil, skočila som "na vagón"... Ejha, kus mimo lávky...
Ale teda ku knihe, toto je ešte jedna zo starých originálnych verzií v nemeckej edícii Die Drei??? z roku 1987 a áno je to kus cítiť. Nejdem tu teraz písať lebo majú telefón a nie PC či podobne, ale hlavne, že v úvode nás víta privítanie od Alfreda samotného (to ma malo varovať, že áno?)
Ale tak čo už, nie vždy sme poučiteľníé

Príbeh je celkom priamočiary, 3 pátrači sa pripletú do prípadu staršieho pána, ich známeho a jeho rodiny a indiánskeho kmeňa so strateným artefaktom.... teraz normálne uvažujem koľko dielov sa točilo okolo domorodého obyvateľstva? Stálo by to za zamyslenie.
Ale iné som chcela, ako je to priamočiare, tak tam ani o žiadnu záhadu nejde a vlastne sa len behá cez údolia tam a späť a to je asi celá akcia. Smutno povedané, jedna z tých slabších kníh v sérii.

Sorka morka iná storka, ale toto budú len 2 indiánske mačiatka...

Prvá veta: "Ty si Jupiter Jones?" spýtal sa vycivený, vráskavý starec chrapľavým, piskľavým hlasom.
Posledná veta: Ako predpovedal Pamir Shady Zindler neušiel spravodlivému trestu.

Surprisingly, The Case of the Dancing Dinosaur is not a travesty. It's a mostly enjoyable choose-your-own-adventure story despite the format hampering the complexity when compared to the original books. There are 13 possible bad endings, ranging from food poisoning, earthquakes, being left with the hotel bill, to(worst of all) the forced sale of Headquarters and the dissolution of the Three Investigators. There is one mostly good ending and the main good ending, complete with Hector Sebastian. I was mentally preparing myself for something as awful as the Crimebusters spinoff, but The Case of the Dancing Dinosaur feels like it was actually created with some care for the original books. Credit is also due to the illustrations of Vincente, which appear to be highly influenced by Harry Kane's series illustrations, though the compositions tend to be much more static here.

The lost tribe plot is a bit farfetched even for characters who have dealt with Bigfoot, UFOs, and satanic cults, but I don't consider this book to be canon at all and it could have been far worse. The prose is noticeably more simplistic than in the main series, but it's not too dumbed-down and even has some funny moments. Considering what a tricky format the choose-your-own-ending books must be, this one mostly stayed true to the spirit of the Three Investigators books. It's not a must-read for T3I fans and it would likely be much more satisfying for children than adults, but it's not bad for what it is!

Die drei Fragezeichen gehen einem Hinweis nach, nach dem ein bekannter Professors von seinem Neffen entmündigt wurde und nun im Altersheim festsitzt, obwohl er bei bester Gesundheit zu sein scheint.
Als dann eben dieser Neffen im Krankenhaus landet, flüchtet der Professor.
Peter, Bob und Justus klären währenddessen, was es mit der wertvollen Steinplatte auf sichat, welche der Professor versteckt hat und wie der Verlobte seiner Enkelin damit drin steckt.

Es war irgendwie eine wirre Folge. Das Ende war viel zu übertrieben und dramatisch, dafür, dass der Rest nicht wirklich spannend war.
Zwischendrin gab es eine Szene, welche einen feministischen Ansatz hatte, was als Idee ganz schön war, aber in der Kmsetzung schon gehackt hat.

Leider keine Empfehlung.

Beautiful, beautiful pictures, this illustrator is A++. The plot was interesting, internally-consistent, and logical. It's a more than a little far-fetched in places, but *just* close enough to the truth to allow suspension of disbelief. I don't know why the kids trusted the shady lawyer (whose name was literally Shady!) but the story was fun and engaging, kind of Goonies-like. Makes me wish my library had the rest of the series.

Irgendwie hat für mich an diesem Teil gar nichts gepasst, der plot war in meinen Augen für eine zeitlich begrenzte Folge der Drei ??? zu groß, als dass er passen könnte und irgendwie wirkte die Geschichte dadurch arg konstruiert und nicht mehr spannend. Auch die Auflösung am Ende hat mich irgendwie nicht vom Hocker gerissen.

• Arnold Brewster, ein reicher alter Mann, bittet die drei Detektive um Hilfe – kurz darauf führt ihre Spur zu den „Tanzenden Wassern“ und in eine abgelegene Gegend, in der sich mehr als nur ein „Ausflug“ verbirgt.
• Vor Ort stoßen sie auf sehr konkrete, „filmreife“ Hinweise: ein riesiger Garten, uralte Höhlenzeichnungen – und dutzende Kürbis-Öllampen, die eher nach Gruppe als nach „einsamer Einsiedler“ aussehen.
• Sie geraten in die Hände des geheimen Stamms „Volk der Winde“; Flötenmusik aus dem Höhlengang und die Angst, man wolle dort Gold suchen, machen klar: Das ist kein harmloser Touristentrip.
• Auflösung der Sache um den „tanzenden Dinosaurier“: Das Fossil ist ein Heiligtum, enthält tatsächlich Gold, und genau das macht es gefährlich – Brewster hat Land gekauft und für die Indianer eintragen lassen, um sie vor Goldrausch/Übergriffen zu schützen.
• Täter/Schachzug: Der windige Anwalt Zindler wird als Drahtzieher entlarvt (u. a. wegen der verlorenen Brille/Spuren im Arbeitszimmer und seiner finanziellen Motive) – er will an Brewsters Vermögen ran und hat dabei andere bewusst in Verdacht gebracht. Finale mit Einsturz/Erdbeben: Alle entkommen knapp, Zindler flieht – seine Schuld gilt aber als beweisbar.
