It's Not About Einstein

Rate this book
With Hawking, we do require a rigorous mathematical model, but mere ability to predict is not nearly enough. The core mathematics must also exhibit a high degree of consistency, coherence, convergence, concreteness, clarity and universality of scope. To the extent that these essential characteristics are compromised, we tend to reject any theory based on such a model. If the compromise is sufficiently extreme, then, no matter the source or degree of consensus, we will reject the model and insist on a more satisfactory base. Deliberate adherence to a defective model is difficult to excuse.
