A decent intro to various ways to approach art and design. It introduces a lot of basic terminology and concepts, so it’s pretty readable by anyone. The various sections seemed somewhat repetitive, covering the same concepts over and over in different forms. I wish it were more technical and challenging - the reading was all pretty bland.

Would recommend if you are totally new to art, but you should find something more specific to your particular field if you already understand basic principles of design.
