I actually CANNOT with the second female lead. I forgot her name, and I can't be bothered to look it up, but I don't understand why people pursue others who are already TAKEN. Like do you not have any respect for the other person, or at least any self-respect or dignity for yourself? 😭 I just don't understand that kind of decision-making. It's ok if you can't control your feelings, but you can with your actions! Also, there are only 6 volumes yet. I just want to get this series over with.
Such a lovely and sad manga. I can't imagine what Yano feels... I wish he woukd tell Nana though... I would also like to get back to the adult time rather than high school time. I feel like this volume should have been before the one where we see Nana almost graduated from college, but other than that it was good.
Finally I'm starting to full in the blanks about Yano's side of the story and why he disappeared from Nana's life!! His mother getting cancer was such a shock!!! And it also throws a HUGE wrench in Yano's life - she has to stop working so there isn't enough money, he has to look after himself by cooking and getting a part-time job, and he isn't sure if he can go to college anymore. I just wish he would tell Nana about it! It's so interesting that this manga focuses exclusively on Yano, whereas the previous one focused only on Nana. I hope their stories meet up! I also love the new character, Akiko, because she basically forced him to be her friend.

It was definitely interesting to see Yano's version of things. While I don't understand what girls see in him I do somewhat have some respect for him as a person. He's working hard to try and make sure that things are okay, however, I think he should have eventually told Takahasi instead of letting it get to the point where he just stops talking to her. Sengenji is setting herself up for disappointment and is way to obsessed with Yano. I get she cares about him, but she also needs to think about herself and what's going to happen once they graduate.
As for Yamamoto I've already expressed my feelings on her. As far as I'm concerned she needs to move on from Yano and shouldn't have come to visit him. I have a feeling that this won't be her last appearance though.

I actually enjoyed this one a lot more. Yano's character (while I hate him with Nana), is a lot more bearable by himself. And the friends he has at his new school, along with the variety of personal struggles he's having, are actually interesting. Yay! Faith in the series renewed!
What can I say, I really enjoy this series! It's filled with love, though choiches and a lot of drama, but I am addicted to it! This volume was not as good as the last ones, but I enjoyed the story.
Yano just can’t catch a break! Life just keeps moving… This series has stayed interesting the whole time. I especially love the conversations these characters have. They seem so “real”.
Yano is put under a lot of pressure when Yuri Yamamoto runs away all the way to Tokyo to visit Yano and try again to win him over, and when his newest closest friend, Akiko, makes it harder on him by allowing Yuri to stay at her house when he tries to force her back home! Yano eventually gets Yuri to return home after she begs him not to act like their hookup after Nana-san died never happened. Every time he says nothing. Later, she sends him another letter and he throws it in the trash. Yano has also picked up a night job, getting home at five in the morning, four days a week, trying his best to save up to visit Nanami when out of the blue (to him, his mother knew this was coming) his mother is hospitalized with stage six pancreatic cancer. The doctor tells Yano that she has only a 13% chance of survival. This entire incident with his mother started the very week he was supposed to visit Nanami, and not only was his chance taken away but he has to support his mother now and pay her medical bills. He picks up another job and with his grades dropping, he has began to consider not going to college at all...
In this volume we get to see how Yano lived after he moved to Tokyo, the friends he made, and the hardships he faced. At this point, I'm starting to think that his mother most likely died, and also that Yano in unknowingly pulling away from Nanami. I don't know what it was about this volume, but I didn't really enjoy it as much as the previous two. Although I do really despise Yuri Yamamoto, and she was in two or three chapters in this book, so that may be the cause. Also, it seems Yano has unwittingly made Akiko fall for him by simply being himself. By the way she feels, he may very well be her first unrequited love...
This volume is all about Yano, when he just got in Tokyo.
I already disliked Yuri Yamamoto, because she apparently doesn't know how to stop, how to get the hint that Yano doesn't want her. Never. That it was just a mistake back then. But now again, she is here, suddenly and apparently expecting things from Yano. God, that girl is really dense and annoying. Glad Yano finally said something to her, brushed her off. Let's hope for all that is good, that she will understand it, and that we won't see her in the story again. :\
Sengenji, is a very cute girl, I really liked her character, atleast she understood that she doesn't have a chance with Yano, and backs off (for most of the times). Tries to be just friends and even brings her dog around since Yano misses his dog. Though I am glad she said what she said about Yuri, she was totally right. Eventhough it might be not something of her business, still it was brave that she dared to say it, it was really needed.
Aww poor Yano, his mother works so hard, and now she is ill (that she never found out that she was already that far in the stages).
It was a very emotional volume. This series is soooo good.
Tze!
The books are always surprisng to me, with thei different points of view and changing emotions. One moment Nanami is like, fuck no, I'm not going to see him or care about him, then shes like, I love him so much! I miss him! She needs to get her priorities straight.
Yuki Obata why do you like hurting my heart?! I never felt a knot ,with holding it tears in public reading this . I cried like a baby. Wishing ,scared of what will happen to them ,can't just tease us with this cover .
Back story this time. And geez series, how can you pull so many emotions left and right. Not fair, not fair. But wow just...getting better it seems. Now and then anyway. Still, it has its moments.
No, no estoy llorando.
