This is a great reference grammar. Highly recommended for any level. It is not meant to be used on its own, but you will find it to be a great reference to how the grammar is structured and how it works.

I thought that this was pitched just at the right level for an interested beginner. For example, when listing the plurals, a few patterns that cover most nouns were enumerated, without trying to be overly exhaustive. I also appreciated the discussions of verb conjugations and use of się, and the discussion of intonation at the end with helpful pitch lines.

My main objection to the book is the poor formatting of the epub version that I borrowed from the library. It didn't use Unicode, so every accented character is an image it looks like, and they also used images for the tables, even only 2 column ones, which made it quite difficult to read. Go for the paper version instead.
