About the author
Stuart Wilde
75 books152 followersWilde was born in Farnham, England. He was educated at St. George’s College, Weybridge, Surrey. After his schooling he joined the English Stage Company in Sloane Square, London. A year later he opened a jeans business in Carnaby Street London, at the height of the Swinging Sixties where he enjoyed considerable commercial success.
He studied alternative religions and Taoist philosophy for five years from the age of twenty-eight, and when he was thirty-three, he emigrated to the United States of America where lived in Laguna Beach, California with his first wife Cynthia. He wrote his first book, Miracles, in 1983.
Shortly thereafter he began a career as a lecturer appearing mainly in New Thought Churches and at New Age conferences. In the 1990s he toured regularly with Deepak Chopra, Dr. Wayne Dyer and Louise Hay, appearing at venues such as the Sydney Entertainment Centre.
tuart Wilde is a prolific writer, with eighteen of his books published to date. They appear in more than fifteen foreign languages, with a total of ninety-three different books and audio works in circulation.[2]
He executive produced and was the lyricist on the music album Voice of the Feminine Spirit (1994), which sold several hundred-thousand copies. He later produced and was the lyricist on two albums of Celtic music, Voice of the Celtic Myth (1997), and Creation (1999), and wrote the book and libretto for Tim Wheater’s oratorio Heartland (1995).

It's difficult to review this book. From how it's written I'd probably give it 2 stars. It's basically a kooky book on changing your attitude towards money. However, like those kooky quit smoking books, it actually works. It did with me - my income has gone up over 50% since I read it the first time (a year ago). Basically he convinced me that there's plenty of money in the world, and I should just ask for more. So I just put my hourly rate up to a fairly ridiculous level (for me) and it turned out to be no barrier to getting new customers. So it was all about attitude and not assuming that everyone is the same as you. And if you name a ridiculous price, you can always say it's negotiable... So, 5 stars for the effect this book has had on my life financially :)

This is a bad and probably harmful book. It's New Age pseudoscientific garbage similar to The Secret, where the idea is that if you want to be rich bad enough and just focus your mind energy on it, you'll get there.
Wilde blames poor people for being poor (and calls them "unspiritual"), dismissing societal or other factors. He gets even worse when he writes that the victims of World War II essentially had it coming to them from having negative energy/karma or whatever nonsense. Gee, wonder who he could be referring to there. (Page 18 in the 1989 edition.)
There's little practical advice except "charge your friends money if they want a favor from you" and "pick up all pennies on the street". (There is an appendix that throws a bunch of different risky investment advice at the wall hoping something sticks.)
He also advocates against collective action and pro right-wing economic policy.
There's a lot of jokiness and "humorous" anecdotes, but the overall message and his advice is meant to be taken seriously.

With Stuart Wilde, it's no trick!
It's all play, playing with energy.
A man of great humor, the night I began reading the book, I laughed so much so that I nearly rolled off the couch! And what was so funny? The reference to the root of all evil, money. Of the guy who coined that line, Wilde said, "He just flat out didn't have any!"
As the book progresses, examples of dealing with money are rife. Each time I retrieve a penny off the sidewalk, I visualize Wilde stumbling across a parking lot after snatching a penny, which he did, telling his stately companions that it was an old English custom!
Inherent in the 'Trick' is energy moving through the atmosphere constantly, through you & through me. Therefore, the idea behind abundance is to dispense with scarcity thinking and have some fun!

Years ago, I bought, restored, and sold antique homes. One day, I phoned a friend and, crying, told her I only had $20,000 left in the bank.

Yesterday, I had 64 cents.

After a brief silence, he replied. "Why not? It's all God's money anyway."
Today, I believe I'm a financial genius and I always tell myself I have plenty of money, even when it's only a pocketful of change. So

This book was quite interesting (and funny).. Gained alot of valuable insights that is worth practicing for sure.. I may have to read it all again soon. But yep.. would definitely recommend if you want a life that is far from the mundane as an entrepreneur.

Stuart Wilde is a brilliant spiritual author, whose humorous take on everything leaves the reader unable to take himself or herself too seriously, even about something as dead serious as money. This book inspired me to let go of some old limiting beliefs I have about the acquiring and having of money. I found the nerve to finally give myself a raise! If you're working on prosperity and financial issues, read this book.

I was expecting much more from this book.
This is the first one I have read from Stuart, but it's not going to be the last one because apparently some other his books are better.

There is no any specific "wisdom" in this book. Just to think somewhat abundant and that you should have at least some money already before manifesting higher sums.
The book is written probably sometimes in the '80s and some advice is still good. Although there is a lot of stuff you can easily ignore nowadays.
In short - if you think/believe you will learn how to manifest money with this book - well, you won't.

Лошо: подвеждащ превод на оригиналното заглавие ! ( Бях чел и слушал, че заглавието, корицата и стайлинга продава книгата. Сега след като знам това не се чувствам измамен (чак толкова))

Книгата е смесица между елементарни, generic финансови съвети от типа "не си дръжте всички яйца в една кошница" и позитивно-мислене, self-help глупости от типа на "Тайната". Най-странното нещо е, че някой от съветите са добри, но обосновката им е тотално грешна. Например, книгата казва, че не трябва да крадем. Но не защото не е правилно, а защото това ще ни донесе негативна енергия, която ще ни застигне по-нататък в живота.

I didn't agree with all that Stuart said but a majority of his points hit home.
I find that finances is like fitness, you gotta keep trying different exercise routines, plans, until you start seeing results. This is a great book to add to the library because the metaphysical side that gets discussed here is as important as the common sense side of things. Funny, to the point and candid are the driving factors here that make this a classic instead of another motivational book in the thrift shop or donation pile. It's dated but a majority of the concepts and thoughts are essentially timeless.

Ооооооооо, Великото спагетиното чудовище! Първо очаквах да прочета нещо ново за "природата на парите". Когато за първи път прочетох за зомби режима настръхнах. После прочетох за автора, че е комик и реших, че ще прочета забавни истории от Света на Уолстрийт. Е, горе долу има го и това....
Но, как се нарича книгата посветена на парите и финансите в която непрекъснато се редуват метафизика на парите, Ин и Ян, окултното и..... внимание : монголците. Бо..... Ох, не искам да ви развалям четенето.
В интерес на истината на края на книгата авторът е посветил по половин страница на някои финансови инструменти, има даже думата"фючърси". За да не развалям впечатлението от казаното до тук ще добавя, че това е смесено с войната във Виетнам, Лудият Макс и още нещо.
Както исках още да кажа? А, да. Четох последните страниците с желание да си сложа на главата шапчица от фолио и чувство на преяждане. Не знам защо няма опция да се поставят минус три звезди ✨. Между другото продавам моя екземпляр, но кандидатът трябва да бъде достоен за тия познания. Бонус от мен - автографът ми

The book establishes a concept of money as an energy or thought-form of collective consciousness.
It’s thought provoking on the topic of how we think about money and the work we do.
I think it’s quite astonishing that it was written in 1989 however I’m not familiar with new age period that this book was clearly influenced by.
It’s soaking in British humour and some cliches that make sure you can’t get away from the impression that the narration is led by a rich uncle from the UK.
So it might be off-putting to some but for the substance the book is a must read.

80% of the book is a modernized rewrite of "The Science of getting rich" from Wallace D. Wattles (see this as a critique). 10% is actually poor financial advice, and the last 10% which is also the only positive part is having an insight on the view for the upcoming years as seen from someone in the 90s.

I love his voice, it feels like something lost in time, something that would get ruthlessly ripped and destroyed by the PC crowd today, but very raw and real and unapologetic. There is some lull in the middle but the book ends well. Highly recommended.

Stuart Wilde has great humour and this book is a must for everyone to understand that money is just an energy like any other energy form. It is always great to have some rather than none.
