About the author

Norman L. Geisler (PhD, Loyola University of Chicago) taught at top evangelical colleges and seminaries for over fifty years and was a distinguished professor of apologetics and theology at Veritas Evangelical Seminary in Murrieta, California. He was the author of nearly eighty books, including the Baker Encyclopedia of Christian Apologetics and Christian Ethics. He and his wife lived in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Excellent introductory survey book. It is well researched and well organized. There are others that go deeper, of course, but it is also not a casual read simplistic summary. This book will provide you with a solid understanding of each book, who wrote it,when and why. It details different perspectives and theories on each debated point, which I really appreciated.

He does such a good job with laying out authorship, time period, to whom the books were written, basic outline, and finishes each chapter going over a few things critics might question and the solution to it. I enjoyed both the Old Testament and New Testament books, and they will probably be kept close so that I can look back and reference them.

Was probably not the most thorough way to learn about the New Testament, but it wasn't bad. Good for an overall look at each book.
