Each volume just keeps getting better and better. I love the relationship between Macharu and Haruna, even though she seems to be struggling maintaining a happy appearance due to the fact she doesn't want people knowing about what her father had done. She's always afraid that Macharu will find out and break up with her. I don't care for the fact that the others think she can do better than Macharu. I think he's a sweetheart and he seems to really care about Haruna. I highly recommend this series.
I started reading this volume while I was waiting for fifteen minutes after I got vaccinated on Monday!!! YES!
But I was more interested in what the people around were saying, and I didn't pay much attention to what I was reading... I mean, people taking some homeopathic remedies trying to fend off the side effects of the vaccine. You should have seen the look on the nurses' faces... Me? I got a fever (first time in probably 15 years) and three sick days.
Anyway.
This volume is about Valentine's Day, Haruna's birthday and being student council president. And yep, I liked it the way I liked volume 1.
Valentine's Day, Birthday, and meeting the school council? Sounds like school romance at its finesse!
I love the jealousy moments Haruna has with Macharu. She seems so aloof about their relationship that it is nice to see her get flustered over the thought of another girl coming in for her man.
And the class celebrating Haruna's birthday was so nice. I love how close the class is and how they love to party!
Lastly, we get to meet a girl from Haruna's middle school days. I'm worried she might become a rival for Macharu because she is so starstruck with Haruna and doesn't get why she'd go out with the little monkey. Man, I really hope not!
Continues to be adorable black cat golden retriever who seem to really like one another. I like the art a lot too it is easy to tell the characters apart. This is top tier chaotic fun shoujo to me.
I'm tearing through this magna series...sadly I don't think my library system has any more volumes. I'm not quite sure. If they don't I might ask them to order the rest. Because after picking up the first volume and enjoying it so much this has quickly become one of my top three manga series :) Not that I've read tons or anything :P Just some.
Haruna and the rest of the gang are having an interesting valentines day. First playboy Atsu gets tons of valentines from his fans. Then some chocolates mysteriously appear in Macharu's desk! As they search for who might have left them Haruna wonders if Macharu might have a secret admirer!
Also a little later in the volume there is a basketball tournament, a birthday surprise and some confusion and arguing about who should run for student body president. Haruna doesn't want to, but everyone seems to think she'd do great. They all want her to run.
Pros:This is a great manga series with great characters! I love Haruna, she's likeable and sweet. A little shy sometimes. And probably the most mature one of her class. Macharu is a sweet, cute little baby monkey. Being short myself I have a great sympathy for short guys *winks* Atsu is funny and a little cocky, I definitely want to see where he goes relationship and etc. wise.
The plot is nice and simple, but still fun :) This manga is funny and sweet. Sometimes a bit deep too :P I love it and can't wait to get the next volume as soon as possible!
Cons:Hints of slightly crude humor from Atsu. But nothing else really.
Haruna is a little embarrassed she brought Macharu chocolate on Valentine's Day but is even more shocked to learn that a secret admirer left some for him in his desk!
I find this an amazingly depthful manga. I loved how we explored Haruna's jealous feelings learning she has a rival. I think one of the reasons she likes Macharu is because he's not threatening to her pride. Still she's a smart girl and figures it out! Macharu is totally confident in what he knows and I liked that! He's a sweet kid who tries really hard (like when he learned it was her birthday!)
There was just a little something missing in this one... I read it through in one sitting but at the same time I felt a lack.
This series would be a lot better if it would stop relying on Atsu and the rest of the class to force the plot along. I find it annoying that Haruna is forced into situations and am particularly frustrated that through 3 volumes, everyone still don't understand why Haruna and Masaru are dating. The whole "he's a monkey" got real old 8 chapters ago which is unfortunate since I feel like this series has such great potential. The sentimental scenes with just Haruna and Masaru are filled with sincerity that, for now, is keeping me wanting to see how they progress. I'm hoping that the "baby monkey " shtick dies real soon as this series doesn't need it.
I'm liking this story more and more. In fact, by the time I finished this volume, 3, I had fallen in love with it! I love it. I would give it 5 stars but I've seen better art... Anyway, I think I also really liked this volume because I really did not like volume 1, so in contrast this has been really satisfying. Haruna isn't so dislikable and is much more involved with the others. I agree with Starbubbles that it is a better story without the monkey mountain angle. Beautiful :)
This Volume was another great edition to this series. The Valentines Day chapter was filled with humorous chaos and extremely fun to read. Overall this volume was very well written and a very enjoyable read.
Contains Chapters: 6 - 9 Chapter 6.) 2/14 The Chocolate Incident Chapter 7.) Happy Birthday Chapter 8.) No Dunking in the Game of Love?! Chapter 9.) Who'll Be the Student Body President?!
Most of this volume is about Valentine's Day, and the story is PRICELESS. Of course to other people, it might seem unoriginal, but I loved it either way. Macharu is getting better at this relationship thing :3 I can't not hate anyone except that girl that shows up later on who knows Haruna. She's kind of annoying, lol.
It's really 3.5 stars. It's not actually bad but it's beginning to fall into a rut of cliches and things that every shojo high school romance story does. The things that made it stand out are beginning to get lost.
I still like this story, but I think I would start feeling bad if I were Atsu and Haruna can't even DEFEND why she likes me out loud. Obvs, I'm reserving volume 4 now.
I'd like to see Chika and Atsu together. I think they'd make an interesting couple. This book can get dull at some moments so I'm hoping for more excitement throughout it.
