but she’s ours right now. He needed her like he’d never needed a woman before. It was as if their bodies, minds, and souls had melded together. (I feel the same way reading these books!!!!) First off, I am so very, VERY excited for more of A.C.'s Pucas, but WOW!! I did not expect anything like this one!! What a PUCATACULAR adventure and one helluva ride to kick this second part of the series off! I love having Felicity in it as well. Of course my ABSO-MATE-LUTELY favorite part to shifter books is when the animal side gets their own personality. “Come on, let us mate with her and make her ours. We need her.” A.C. not only does that but she does it so PAWFECTLY!! I cannot wait to read more Puca Mates!! A.C.'s tremendous talent & genuine gift are put on full display here! They work seamlessly together catching your eye, mesmerizing you, then bringing you across The Veil to find your mate where you can then live together in your happily ever after… After you take that leap, learn to admit and accept your destiny, and after you have tried out your potential mate… *naughty grin*
I love this series, have from the start and couldn't wait for Episode 5, it is one of the very few short stories I've gotten hooked on, it's that good.
Felicity's BFF Cyn has given up on ever having a serious relationship with any man because of the bad experiences she has had being a BBW, she just goes for one night stands and she has set her eyes on having Thomas. Problem is Thomas is a mated pucca and she doesn't know that. Thinking she is going to have a passionate night with Thomas and a friend, she is all for it, when she sees the friend Fallon, she is even more for it.
Fallon Chieftan of the Pucca realizes it is time to take a mate and queen for his people and so he gives Thomas the task of finding the right human for him. Little did Fallen count on her being such a beauty and having his horse prance all over the place.
When Cyn awakens after a very passionate night, she is not prepared for what she sees, or hears. Now it is up to Fallon if he really wants to keep her from her world, or die wanting.
What a fantastic story, can't wait to read the next episode!

Cyn didn't want anything but one-night stands with men, well you should never drink and agree to meet someone when you are drunk. When she woke up the next morning she didn't know where she was but there was a hunk of a man next to her.Does she break his heart or does she agree to be his mate?Buy the book and find out.
Cynthia Becket was celebrating her 25th birthday with her BFF Felicity Forrest, paranormal investigator and blogger. Felicity was called to leave on a new assignment investigating a Puca (horse shapeshifter) incident in Ireland and invited Cyn to come along on holiday! It’s a great chance to meet men! So Cyn, having had too much to drink, is sitting in a bar talking with a man she had met and spent time with. He is a challenge to her. She hasn’t been able to coax him into bed and is thinking only of seducing him. Tomas, hoping she might want to become the mate of the Puca chieftain, asks her how much she understood about Felicity’s Puca research, trying to make her understand that the Puca myth was real. He assumed she understood from her vague responses and was accepting it. So Tomas continued, saying he wanted her to meet someone – and Cyn, in her drunken euphoria, thought he was asking for a threesome! She was completely not understanding what he was telling her, but she willingly followed him outside. She didn’t even notice when they crossed through the veil separating the island inhabitants from the Puca realm – a one-way trip unless she became mated.
Cyn was introduced to Fallon and went happily off to his bed. But waking in the morning with a horrible hangover, she was confused. She told Fallon that she had thought Tomas was joking with her. This was supposed to be just a one night stand.
I just love this series more and more! There is so much feeling from each of the characters. I can’t wait to go on to the next one and see how each character will make the decisions that will change their lives forever. I highly recommend this excellent story!
NOTICE: This book was given to me, by the author, in exchange for an honest review.
I gave the first four books a four star rating and this one I had to give a three, unfortunately. I erase books as I read them to save space and make sure I do not accidentally give someone my copy in a transfer, so I did not have the first four books to be reminded of who the characters were. With that said, I forgot who Fallon was. I think he Niles' father? Not 100% sure and Niles was not in this book. Onto my critique:
This book felt rushed. I am not sure if it took place over a few days, or weeks, but it felt like it jumped from one even to the other with fleshing out what was actually going on. One minute Felicity is talking about going back to London to tie up loose ends, the next she is there and Nathan is just there, and things are there and the writing confused me.
I think the plot sounds good, but I have yet to see the next series of books as being any advancement on the story as it was in the first four books. It would be great to see two close friends stay together, but I would find it odd if my best friend, who is my age, married my father-in-law, never mind be his "mate". It also felt like Tomas was just a side piece, with no real purpose. I feel the entire book could have been better explained, maybe have Felicity bring Cynthia over, instead of the promise of sex. I don't know, it may just be me.
What is keeping me with this series is the cliffhanger ending. Will she stay? Won't she stay? Why the hell is Nathan so adamant about being with Cynthia? Why is Cynthia such a slut?! Do Niles and Felicity have a baby? I would much prefer to see more from Niles and Felicity, instead of Fallon and Cynthia.
This is the 5th book in the series, but the first book about Cynthia and Fallon. Cynthia is a model who lives a carefree life, enjoying one night stands, but never letting anyone get close except her two best friends. Fallon is the leader of the Puca, stallion shapeshifters, and he sends Tomas, one of his people, to find him a mate. Tomas thinks Cynthia would be a perfect mate for Fallon, and gets to know her. The problem, and laughs, occur, when Cynthia thinks Tomas likes her (however Tomas has a mate), but she can't figure out why he doesn't try to kiss her or sleep with her. Tomas and Cynthia get drunk one night, and while she is inebriated and not really paying attention, Tomas explains why he is there, and that he feels she would be a perfect mate for Fallon. All Cynthia gets from the conversation is that Tomas is finally going to sleep with her, and they are going to have a menage with Fallon. Cynthia wakes up in Fallon's bed, not knowing that she has agreed to be mated for life to him. Obviously she is upset, especially when she finds out she can't leave. She has to be mated to a puca before being able to return to the real world. Let the wooing begin, because Fallon and his stallion have fallen in live with her.
Season 2 of Ride focuses on Cyn and Fallon. Fallon has sent his trusted advisor Tomas to find him a new mate, and he is more than pleased when Tomas brings him Cyn. Cyn thinks that Tomas is into her, and when he brings up meeting his friend, Cyn thinks with her lady parts and is ready to engage in sexual shenanigans. She completely disregards the details Tomas has just provided her about the Puca, crossing into their realm, and mating for life. Throwing caution to the wind Cyn gives into her arousal, and the next day has to deal with a bad hangover, and deal with having mated to Fallon, the clan Chieftan.
I liked getting to know more about Cyn. In the first season, she comes off as pretty flighty and only down for a good time regardless of consequences. But learning more about her thoughts and where she's coming from emotionally helped me to like her more as a character. And Fallon... omg, could he not be anymore awesome. There's a reason why he's the chief, and he is certainly wise, so it's not a surprise that he allows Cyn to lead where their relationship goes. But I still couldn't help but hurt for him. I really liked this episode; maybe my favorite so far.
Copy provided by author in exchange for an honest review.
This episode is the start of the story of Cyn (Felicity's best friend) and Fallon. Cyn has made some foolish and possibly dangerous decisions in her life; drinking heavily and picking up men for one night stands. And now Cyn is still fixated on shagging Tomas and she is very drunk when Tomas is trying to tell her about the Realm and Fallon and she is not paying attention. Instead she is dreamily and drunkenly focused on what she thinks he is saying; that is, that she will be shagging two men: Tomas and Fallon. Tomas takes her through the Veil and she wakes up the next morning with a very bad hangover and in bed with Fallon. Everyone blames Tomas for the misunderstanding and the problems. Fallon takes Cyn for a lovely picnic and she enjoys being with him. But she wants to go back to her life in London. Fallon tells her that she has to be mated to him so she can go back through the Veil. She does not know that if Fallon mates her and then she leaves him, things will go very badly for him. And now she needs to make a choice mate with Fallon and stay with him or mate with him and then leave to go back to her life in London. Which choice will she make? This is well written with great characters who are well fleshed out. I was given this as an ARC copy for an honest review.
In this book of the series Cyn follows Tomas to the Realm and into the castle where the Chieftain Fallon lives thinking that she is going to have a threesome with Tomas and the man that he wants her to meet but Cyn really only heard half of what she was told by Tomas and understood none of it because she was pretty drunk and all she could think about was that Tomas finally wanted to have sex with her instead of all the talking and picture taking that had been going on since they met even though he said that he showed is friend the pictures and he wanted to meet her and they were going there now. When they get to the castle she meets Fallon and is really taken with him and her desire goes up another couple of notches, Fallon picks up Cyn and takes her to his room they spend the night together. When she wakes up the next morning she has a hangover she barely can remember where she is, Fallon is upset when he thinks she doesn't remember the night before but slowly she begins to remember and Fallon fills in the blanks for her and she said "I Want To Go Home." I received a copy for an honest review.
This is the 5th novella in the Ride series about Puca shape shifters. In this episode, Felicity's friend Cyn (who we met in the previous episodes) was waiting on Tomas, Niall's friend that had accompanied him beyond the veil to find a mate for Fallon (Niall's dad). Problem was that Tomas was not very forthcoming about the mystery of the veil and why Cyn needed to meet Fallon. She travels across the veil thinking she was going to have a threesome with Tomas and his friend. Unfortunately once Tomas brings Cyn across the veil she realizes her assumption was wrong and now she cannot leave without becoming mated, per the rules of the realm. As soon as Fallon sees her he feels a connection and wants her for his mate. Fallon's stallion is pushing him to claim her though but, he needs for it to be her choice to stay. He takes her on a beautiful picnic and Cyn feels really conflicted about how she feels. She has inexplicable feelings for Fallon, but she misses home and her family. What will she eventually decide to do...will she Mae with Fallon & return to her old life or will she stay and be his queen? I highly recommend you read this book and find out!
This is the fifth novella in the Ride series by A.C. James. While novellas 1-4 were about Niall and Felicity, this book centers on Cynthia (Cyn) and the puca Chieftan, Fallon. As other reviewers have mentioned, while Tomas is trying to explain to an inebriated Cyn about pucas and their mating rituals, Cyn believes Tomas is using a metaphor to entice her into a three way encounter. So she willingly follows Tomas as he takes her through the veil, introduces her to Fallon and the two of them have a night of passion. Unfortunately, the next morning the misunderstanding becomes clear and it is explained to Cyn that the only way she can return through the veil to her previous life is to mate with a puca. As Cyn and Fallon spend time together, it is apparent that there is a strong attraction, but Cyn is reluctant to give up her lifestyle and Fallon loves her too much to hold her there against her will even though her leaving will kill him. This is a very enjoyable series and I would recommend it to me those who like the paranormal genre. I recieved an ARC copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Ride: The Bad Hangover is the second season of this series. The main characters from this one are Cynthia, aka Cyn, who is Felicity's best friend, and Fallon, Niall and Maeliosa's father. Those who read Felicity and Niall's story will remember that Fallon gave Tomas the quest of finding him a mate as well as helping Niall with his investigation. Well, Tomas thinks that he has found the perfect mate for Fallon: Cynthia. The only problem is Tomas had a difficult time explaining the situation to a very drunk Cyn before taking her beyond the veil, and now she is stuck there unless she mates. Fallon has already fallen in love with her, and doesn't want to let her go, but he knows that she would feel like a prisoner there if kept against her will. Fallon does offer to mate her and let her leave their realm, but does not let her know about the consequences to him if she leaves forever. Will Cyn make her decision, and what decision will she make? I will have to wait until the next book to find out that answer. I love A.C. James' descriptions of the rooms and land in this realm. I also can't wait to find out what happens next!
I received this for a honest review. I loved the previous Ride Series and I have to say this one is just as good.
We got to know Cyn in the previous series. She was a wild girl one that is scared of relationships and kept men at a distance. She was also Felicity’s best friend. Cyn had this crush on Tomas. I kind of wonder if she was chasing him because he was so hard to get. See Tomas was a puca that was mated and was sent to find a mate for the Chieftain of the clan, his dear friend Fallon.
Things could of not gone so wrong. Tomas thought Cyn understood he was taking her across the veil to mate with his friend. Cyn thought she about to get a threesome. I cannot imagine what was going through Fallon’s mind. He had been smitten off the bat with Cyn but to find out she did not know the real reason why she was there had to be hard, especially since once you crossed the veil the only way to go back is to be mated.
This is a short story. I am so looking forward to seeing what the series will hold. It has already started off to a good start.
Powerful story line, hunger alpha males and sexy shifters. This story is a continuation of Ride. Wow does this book have some punch. Sexy horse shifters, BBW, and an intense story line. The story picks up where the first season ended. Naill and Felicity are content but a truely amazing sideline story was happening. This story picks up the sideline story and continues it forward. A little bit to much to drink and raging hormones gets "Cyn" into one hell of a sinful situation. Her introduction into the world of puca does not go as well as Chieftain Fallon had hoped. With the loving help of her best friend Felicity, Cyn must decide on this new and amazing world that would bless her with a daughter, and an sizzling hot mate or will she choose her home in London with her family and friends. The war is real in her heart. How will she chose? Lots of depth and fun characters. Great story line. Keeps you drawn in till the very end. Love it!
Here comes Cyn’s story! If you read the first couple of stories in Ride then you know about Felicity and the Pucas. If not, let’s just say really perfect and hot men that happen to also be horses. They mate for life and live behind a unseen to the normal world. In the first set, Felicity was sent to investigate and debunk the myth of the Pucas. Her best friend Cyn tagged along to celebrate her birthday. This story starts off with Cyn who doesn’t quite believe the truth. Combine lots of drinking with a sexy guy leading you off to meet a friend and suddenly Cyn’s not in Kansas anymore! Or anywhere else with appropriate cell phone service.
I really like Cyn and can relate. I hope her story speeds along and gets a magical happy ever after. I don’t think it’s absolutely necessary to read the first set before starting with this book since this is the first for Cyn. For maximum enjoyment, it would probably make it easier to ready Felicity’s story first.
This is such a fun series! Cyn went with Felicity on her trip to investigate a story about Pucas. While Felicity was doing this she was hanging out with Tomas who she didn't understand why he didn't want her but he was getting to know her to bring her back to Fallon to be his mate. When she's told about this she's pretty drunk though won't admit it until she wakes up with Fallon the next morning and finds out what happens. Will Cyn decide to become his mate? Will Fallon be able to make her believe she's great the way she is?
Cyn is such a fun character though because of the past doesn't believe a guy could love her because of her curves. The author gives you glimpses of her past and why she feels the way she does. I can't wait to find out if she gives in and stays or if she'll leave not believing she can have what's in front of her. On to the next book to find out! I received a copy in exchange for a honest review.
In the second set of books, we get to see how Cyn handles being left while Felicity crosses the veil with her new mate. Cyn's still hoping to finally get Thomas -- when he invites her to meet a friend, she gets an entirely wrong idea. Fallen, chieftain, and the leader had set Thomas on a task to find him a human mate--not for Thomas who already had one he loved, but for Fallen. Enter slightly inebriated Cyn.
Thomas was sure he had explained everything clearly. Not so much. Will Fallen be taken with her? If so, can he persuade her to stay and become his mate? If she refuses she is still stranded in the veil with no way to return to the other side--or is there? At what cost?
We learn Cyn's history and why she has such a seemingly flighty attitude about men, and no interest in a relationship. Can Fallen show her not all men are that way? I fell for Fallen--will Cyn?
Can't wait for the next episode. I was provided an ARC for an honest review.
Cyn is finally sure that she's going to get Tomas, but after a few drinks, she can't believe he's adding another man to the equation. When she wakes up in Fallon's bed the next morning with a massive headache and asks how to leave, the look on Fallon's face is one that frightens her. Fallon can't believe he's met the love of his life and she doesn't want him, he and his stallion are heartbroken, but he's willing to make a sacrifice, he will mate her and let her leave, but unbeknown to Cyn, it will mean his death.
I enjoyed this development, learning about Cyn, and the life she's in essence been hiding from everyone, her fears, her hurts. And Fallon is an absolute gentleman that any woman would love to have love her. Once again I just can't wait for the next installment, I'm also dreading the end because I'm loving this storyline and the characters so much.
I was given a complimentary copy by author A.C. James in exchange for an honest review.
After reading parts 1 to 4 of Ride, Flicity & Niall's story I was really wanting, no NEEDING to read Cyn & Fallon's story... I could barely control my excitement when A.C. first posted about the continuance of her Ride series. I can say I laughed quite alot within this part of the series, Cyn's reactions to finding out all the information Thomas had been trying to tell her was the truth & not just pick uplines.
'Bad Hangover' is episode 5 in the "Puca Mates: Ride" series... I would advise you read 'Ride' from the start, only so you could get a real understanding for the series, but you don't nesecarily need to. I can't wait to read more about Cyn, Fallon, Felicity, Niall & the rest of the Puca beyond the Veil.
Review for RIDE PT 5 by A.C.JAMES Received as an ARC for an honest review Cynthia Beckett, known as Cyn to her friends, is on holiday in the Aran Islands with her friend when she misinterprets statement made to her by Tomas, a Puca shifter. She ends up beyond the Veil, the divider between the human world and the land o the Puca. There she meets Fallon O’Leary, the chieftain of the Puca. He is looking for a mate and knows that Cyn is exactly what he wants. After a very passionate night between them and too much alcohol on Cyn’s part, she wakes to find out the truth. Fallon is angry at the misunderstanding, but also upset because he wants her as his mate. Now, the only way she can leave is to be mated, but she has no idea that would mean suffering and eventually death for Fallon. What decision will she make and will she learn what the consequences to Fallon will be ?
This is the fifth novella in the series and the action shifts to Cyn and Fallon in this part. Each novella is a quick read.
Cyn has tried to keep it fun and easy with the guys she hooks up with by finds herself in trouble this time. Fallon is looking for a queen and is very happy to have Cyn. He doesn't realize they have different ideas about the future.
I have enjoyed the series and Cyn is an interesting character with a lot of pain from her past. You learn a lot about her that you did not suspect when the focus was on her friend. Fallon seems like the perfect man who will treasure her if she opens herself up to him and gives their relationship a chance.
I enjoy the series and recommend it. You definitely need to start with the first one and read them in order to appreciate the story.
These short stories keep getting better and better !! Book 5 starts off with Cynthia misunderstanding Tomas and thinking he wants a threes omega with a friend of his, instead Tomas had been checking Cyn out for his Chieftain Fallon. Cyn and Fallon have one hot, sexy, drunken night together and neither one realizes until the next morning how far apart their intentions toward each other are, and it's heartbreaking to see, as Cyn and Fallon both deserve to be happy. While both are in the Realm , they spend time with each other and as usual AC James leaves us with one heck of a cliffhanger!! Luckily book 6 is out and I've got it ready to read. You must read each section of the story in order to understand and enjoy them to the fullest. 5☆'s for being a fantastic read that I'd recommend to any paranormal romance lover. I recieved a gifted copy in exchange for an honest and unbiased review.
Please note that each of the episodes are short quick reads. Definitely for 18+ due to sexual situations. Very hot and steamy. Not be read as a standalone as it ends in a cliffhanger. Read each individual episode in order.
The characters and setting are well described in the blurb for the episode and I'm not going to recap all that in my review. Please read the blurb for more info on Fallon and Cynthia (Cyn) and the Isle of Inis Mor.
Cyn came to the island to support her friend Fallon (Season One stories) while she investigates supposed puca sightings. Fallon sends Tomas, one of his trusted clansmen, to find him a human mate. Cyn gets drunk in a pub while with Tomas and misunderstands what he is telling her. While Cyn is attracted to Fallon, she only wanted a one night stand. Or does she?
I received a free copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.
This is the 5th book in the Ride series but focuses on plus size model Cy and the chieftain of the Puca, Fallon. After a misunderstanding Cy finds herself in what she thought was a one night stand with Fallon and he thought she was agreeing to be his mate. Now behind the veil Cy has to deal with fall out from what she thought was a birthday fling but meant more to Fallon and his stallion. As Cy is left behind Felicity returns to London to talk to her boss and tells their friends that Cy is spending time with her new love. AS Cy spends more time with Fallon and his family she can't deny her feeling for him, nor him for hers but is she really ready to give up her whole life to stay with him and his people. Fallon makes her an offer but what will she choose. This is the first of the second four part series and ends on a cliffhanger. I am sure you will be as hooked as I am.
