Mia Adams keeps bumping into her fantasy. Literally. From crashing her car into his to ramming his shopping cart at their local supermarket, each encounter brings her closer to the man she’s always dreamed of: Kevin McIntyre, a former pro football player with an attitude and a propensity for swearing.
He seems perpetually angry but she has to admit the look suits him. She’s pretty sure experience makes perfect too because the man has some serious skills. Let’s just say she’s been screaming his name a lot lately. Although, sometimes, it’s to shout at his disappearing back. She shouldn’t care, however, that he doesn’t seem to remember her name or that he keeps leaving as soon as he gets what he wants. They’re just having some fun after all.
Then why is he inviting her to his house? Did he change the rules and forget to tell her about it? The sex must have gone to his head, there is just no other explanation.
Emma Hillman has been writing stories in her head ever since she can remember. When the Internet started and she realized she could type them up and share them with the world, she knew she'd found her calling.
These days she divides her days between a full-time job, her lovely daughter, a cat who meows at 6am every day for his breakfast, and a dog who chases after flies.
Yell at each other. Have random sex. Yell at each other. Have random sex. Yell at each other. Have random sex. He didn't like her then he loved her. Didn't make much sense. I keep hoping the fact that Hillman's stuff gets shelved as BBW might mean I'll like it. Doesn't look to be the case. (1.5 stars)
I'm working on reading all my older acquisitions from when I went into a book buying frenzy years ago.
This one was actually better than I feared but not as good as I hoped. There are some fun moments but mostly they just boink the whole book like crazed weasels. Which, if you are really into meaningless sex everywhere and with a stranger would make a good book.
Me, I like a little more plot. From horny weasels to insta-love at the end. I didn't buy it.
I will give this author another chance as I have more books on the "stack" from her.
So, what girl doesn’t have a secret fantasy, all worked out in her head because she has gone through it working it out numerous times in her mind, about accidentally running into insert name of famous hunk here and having him be angry and suddenly taking you and…? Well, you get the point, but if you don’t then this story just is not for you! *LAUGHING* Seriously though, this story is a lively and provocative fantasy romance where a woman, Mia Adams, literally does just that—she crashes her car into the man she has always dreamed of, former pro football player, Kevin McIntyre.
Emma’s use of language sets the tone of the story masterfully from the first page and begins building substantial characters you can’t help but love with Mia’s witty, devil-may-care attitude and when it comes to having sex with Kevin, whether fantasy or real; and Kevin’s angry, alpha ways of dealing with her. The hints at seduction soon turn into steamy unrestrained acts of passion which fit the characters well, while it is the locations of these romps which keep you turning the pages to get to the next fated meeting of the two and possibly taking notes. I think it is the impetuousness of both characters at times that leave you constantly wondering what will happen next.
When Kevin’s voice and demeanor subtlety change by inviting Mia to his house is when Emma Hillman really amps up her writing talents and has you gobbling up the remainder of the story. Want to put a smile on your face and add to the repertoire of your fantasies, then read Location, Location, Location and if you would like to catch up with Mia and Kevin a few years down the road then be on the lookout for Yes, No, Maybe releasing October 12 also with eXcessica.
I really like how this started but not with how it ended. I love Mia's character so much, she's frigging cute and awesome. With Kevin, well, he's fine. He's good at sex and he's hot but I kinda hate him at the start. But he is hot when he is hot. Haha! The way they just constantly meet is amazing, except for the last two parts. The movie and the house invitation. Then Kevin fell in love with her, it was so funny because she asked for no sex for two weeks on him and the way I have read this, I don't think it's possible. The author gave no ending and just gave it to us, the way I've read I think they wouldn't be able to keep their hands off each other especially if they're constantly with each other. But being a hopeless romantic, I think Mia will give him leverage and throw the no sex for two weeks in the wind. After all, she gets wet just thinking about him, I don't think she can also abstain.
I had a lot of fun reading this book, not only because Mia and Kevin are the perfect match, but also because it was something really sexy, fresh, new and short.
Fue un poco chocante ver a Mia como la groupie obsesiva que pareció al principio y conciliar con la imagen divertida que resultó ser después. Pero resultó en un relato corto, divertido y sexy.
