Overall, I found the stories in this collection to be …boring. They shouldn’t be. On paper, there are interesting characters, but I never connected with them, and their worries and concerns were either poorly explained or not explained at all. I persisted, and listened to them all. Not sure why, except they were easy to listen to, as background noise while I worked.

Soul Stealer (M/F)
Kinda boring. A ‘life drinker’, aka Vamp and a ‘soul stealer’, aka Sucubus? I kept listening because I wanted to know what Kira was, and how/if she and Alec would get together. The narrator was annoying at first, but as I got used to his style, he grew on me.

When Beasts Bit (M/M)
Jordy and Nick, both ‘garous’, aka shifters. Too much angst. Jordy wasn’t able to articulate what his issues were with Nick. And that bothered me.

Barely Restrained (M/M/F BDSM)
I wish we had gotten to know Roni better, she is so opaque. I liked the romance, and the two men not being norms.

Embracing Sin (M/F)
Eh. A lust demon and an angel, should be good, right? But so little information is provided about what the angel’s job is, and how Sin became what she is. It made it hard to get engaged in the story.

Shattered Illusions (M/M)
A semi-supernatural hero and a human hero (with a special ability). Love story = meh
