Doctor Who Short Trips is a series of themed short story anthologies of new Doctor Who fiction, featuring the Doctor in all of his first eight incarnations. They feature stories written by some of the leading names in Doctor Who, past and present, including Paul Cornell, Gareth Roberts, Christopher H. Bidmead, and Paul Magrs. To the governments and corporations of the world in 2040, expansion is an article of faith. The human race must expand outwards, exploring new territories, new technologies, and new ways of thinking. Only problem is, the human race doesn't necessarily share that faith. And with so much at stake, their leaders may have to call in some new partners to make sure we see the light.

Ho-hum Seventh Doctor anthology featuring appearances from six other classic series Doctors (and one Unbound Doctor). The stand-out story in this collection is Artificial Intelligence by Andy Campbell.

Another of the Big Finish collections of Doctor Who short stories, this time all set in the year 2040 (an anagram of the year of writing, 2004, though the link is also made with the Doctor's TARDIS being a Type 40). I didn't think this was one of the more successful collections, with the linking narrative between the stories (about the invasion of Earth by an entity called the Ethereal) seeming to get in the way a bit. But there were a couple that I really enjoyed - "Artificial Intelligence" by Andy Campbell, a retake of Flowers for Algernon, and "Anteus" by Rebecca Levene featuring a fractured future London which seemed all too much in tune with this month's events.

Entertaining, although the linking material about the Ethereal wasn't particularly interesting. 'Repercussions' did it better.
