It's a great little book for people who deal with the public about the importance of customer satisfaction. Customer "Love", I'm not so sure, but a like of dealing with the public is necessary and knowing that at any given time, you can expect the worse. The customer service experience at Nordstom is legendary, but the stories regarding Southwest Airlines, United Airlines are nice to read.

It's also nice to know that some of the employees at airlines make every attempt to please their customers. I can attest to that with Continental Airlines. They were kind enough to upgrade my Mother and me to First Class during our return flight from California. It was during the Christmas season, so it was certainly a big deal to us.

I did notice that in this book, there is very little written about those who engage in Customer Service over the phone. There is a different atmosphere when interacting on the phone rather than in person. Voice can, more or less, set the tone of the conversation at hand and can also determine the level of engagement. A customer and service representative can be a completely different people behind the anonymity of the phone.

The top 10 lists of customer service is a nice reminder that please and thank you can go a long way. The services to tell that all business that cater to public that everyday is Customer Appreciation Day.

Great examples of what others have done for quality customer service. Great book to inspire you to become one of these great examples! It reminds one why you are in service or sales & how to treat the public. Face to face interaction & attitude is everything. It reminds one about the importance of customer satisfaction. The stories of Nordstrom, Southwest Airlines, United Airlines, Starbucks are all excellent. The Ten Phrases for customer love are great. They should be used on wall posters & at desks to remind people how to treat their customers whether in person or on the telephone!
