Sometimes a little dry to read if you’re not into economics and finance, but very well and understandably explained!

Götz Werner erläutert sehr detailliert, wie sich Wirtschaft und Arbeitsweise in den letzten Jahren und Jahrzehnten weiterentwickelt haben und warum es aus diesem Grund ein bedingungsloses Grundeinkommen für alle geben sollte. Die Hintergründe sind gut lesbar und auf den Punkt gebracht. Eher nebulös bleibt der Ansatz, wenn es um die konkrete Umsetzung geht. Natürlich muss ein bedingungsloses Grundeinkommen überhaupt erst einmal "gedacht" werden können - so wie erst langsam das Denken beginnt, dass man tatsächlich auch ohne den Wachstumswahn und -zwang leben könnte - doch ein paarmal zu oft wird darauf verwiesen, dass die Antwort auf drängende Fragen eine "andere Baustelle" sei.
Trotzdem bietet das Buch eine gute Einführung zum bedingungslosen Grundeinkommen sowie auch einen Einblick in die Arbeitsweise von dm.

An interesting idea that I would definitely like to see implemented in practice! - which is quite a surprise to myself. I fail to imagine what would come out of it because it is such a radically different idea from our present concepts of earning income and money, but that makes it all the more exciting.

Of course, I'm not holding my breath for the Unconditional Basic Income to be introduced anytime soon. Still, simply thinking about it and why it needs to be introduced (Werner spends a large part of the book explaining this, while being deliberately vague on the details of implementation) challenges our long-held cultural conceptions of work and why we work, which is one reason why reading this book is worthwhile, even if it is not the easiest read at times.

It is very interesting idea, even if too idealistic. Nicely written (sometime a bit over-explained, but it is better than under-) with some obvious arguments, which I never thought about. If you are already socially-thinking person, you should read it to broaden your viewpoint. But also otherwise it is very mindopening book
