A great read for anyone in education. Definitely a band teacher-centric book, but all of it is easily transferrable to other subjects. It offers a lot of inspiring quotes, testimonies by Boonshaft, and gets down to why people choose the teaching profession. A "feel-good" book for those who might be questioning whether or not they want to teach.

This is book is a fantastic read if you're in need of some inspiration or a reminder of why you got into teaching. The book is a cohesive succession of anecdotes plus pieces of advice. Most lessons are specifically about teaching, but some are about life in general. As a new teacher, I found this book incredibly inspiring, and I plan to reference it throughout my career as a teacher. I highly recommend this book to teachers of any amount of experience.

(P.S. I've met Boonshaft, and I can say that he truly practices what he preaches.)

This book was given to me by a former staff member and is a real tribute to the efforts of passionate teachers. If you enjoy inspirational stories and quotes on life and education, you will enjoy this book. A book that can be read all at once or in snippets of stories, it is a great read for teachers who are new or experienced.
