I would say this is a good textbook. For instance, Chapter 10 about writing. If I read it one month ago, there would be less pain and waste of time during October since I experienced a lot of anxiety caused by lack of making progress for a paper writing. Most of the practices discussed in Chapter 9 and Chapter 10 truly helped me because they re-construct the self-confidence of my inner world. Chapter 1-Chapter 4 are highly recommended too.

A great, detailed guide to doing an ethnography. Captured both the science and art. Could’ve been a little shorter - but that’s true of most books!

Awesome scientific approach for explaining society and the social groups that make up our world. If you've ever done a focus study or think you may need to in the future then this is an excellent guide on how to do qualitative social research.

This is a great reference guide for all aspects of qualitative research. I used it for a course but will keep it as a reference for the future.

Its biggest downside is its horrendous price for such a small paperback book.

Great guide to participant observation. I have a library copy but might invest in my own. Chapters 6-8 on "focusing data" as groundwork for analysis are especially good. As a new researcher, I liked and needed the section on what it means to do social science framing.

Read to page 91 before it was recalled by the library. Will pick it up again in the future.
