I felt kind of silly buying a two year old a dictionary, but he has acquired a lot of words from the pictures. The only awkward thing about these longer books is that he sometimes wants them for bedtime stories. That can take a while. We usually go with a couple of letters and then call it quits.

This is a pretty good first dictionary. The words are well-presented. Most have a picture to accompany the term. Each entry has a sample sentence.
