Jessica S. Andersen is an American writer of mystery and medical romances. She obtained a PhD in Genetics, but when she finally settles on a single career, she will have been many things: a doctor of molecular genetics, a patent agent, a freelance editor, a professional horse trainer and riding coach, a fiance and the proud owner of a pair of corgis. But if you ask her who she is, Jessica will say, "I'm a writer. The rest is all background research."

Jessica lives in a smal farm in eastern Conneticut with her own personal hero, Brian, as well as the corgis, two cats and a handful of young horses, who she claims are investments but never seem to get sold.

First of all, it was a nice, suspenseful story with a pretty edge of your seat finale. I have not read any others in the series so there were probably some facts I missed, but the plot still hung together well.

What I thought was exceptional although I had my doubts at a few points is that Romo and Sara were such imperfect characters who continued to make some really bad relationship decisions througout the book. First Sara made me mad (not just inflexible but patronizing), then Romo (not the just cheating from before the book began but his dishonesty about why he really did it and when he recovered his memory)But somehow I felt sympathy and liking and even understanding for them and at the end I was surprised to feel like they were going to make it as a couple.

I believe I read this years ago (clearing out my library). I had trouble getting into it at first - I think I wasn't in the mood for a dangerous, terrorism, suspense story. I kept picking it up and reading a few pages. As I got closer to the end, it was harder to put down.

This was a really good book. Lots of suspense and intrigue. I didn't know when I first started reading it that its #6 in the Bear Claw Creek Crime Lab series. So it took a little figuring out to catch up with some of the going ons, but I was able to do it. So I guess it could be a standalone book. Though now I'm eager to read the whole series. It took some doing, but I think I found all the books and figured out the order they are in, and just so no one else has to go through that trouble I will list them at the bottom of my review. I had read Jessica Anderson in an anthology and if I remember right I enjoyed it. Her writing in this story was great, I have no complaints. I enjoyed the characters Romo and Sara very much and the idea that despite Romo's amnesia his love for Sara still made it through that he knew that Sara was a safe haven for him when he was at his most vulnerable. I enjoyed the multiple levels of subterfuge. Sara had her own issues to deal with and she felt it was all Romo's fault their relationship failed to begin with and continues to fail. I liked it when her own blinders finally came off and she saw it wasn't all Romo. This story had it all, sex, action, suspense, not knowing who you can trust, what more can you want but love on the run? Definitely action packed. I look forward to reading the other books.#1 Rapid Fire #2At Close Range #3 Ricochet #4 Manhunt In The Wild West #5 Mountain Investigation #6 Internal Affairs Bear Claw Conspiracy #8 Bear Claw Bodyguard comes out11/29/11 Hope you enjoy this book as much as I did and I hope the others are as good also, according to the reviews and the ratings my guess is they will be.

Very action driven, and the romance only works because there was a previous relationship. Ok, but not mind-blowing.

First book I read in this series and I really liked it. Not my fav hero but I like this writing style. The Cell twists and finale in the tunnels were both exciting. I like the spy aspect too.
