As the five leaders of the strongest villages in the ninja world meet to discuss the fate of their universe—and how to deal with the ever-looming threat of the rogue organization, the Akatsuki—plans are made that will affect Naruto deeply. The new Hokage, leader of Naruto's village, is not afraid to make the final end move against Naruto's old pal, Sasuke!
Masashi Kishimoto (岸本斉史 Kishimoto Masashi) is a Japanese manga artist, well known for creating the manga series Naruto. His younger twin brother, Seishi Kishimoto, is also a manga artist and creator of the manga series O-Parts Hunter (666 Satan) and Blazer Drive. Two of his former assistants, Osamu Kajisa (Tattoo Hearts) and Yuuichi Itakura (Hand's), have also gone on to moderate success following their work on Naruto.
Kishimoto's first work as a manga artist was Karakuri (カラクリ?), which he submitted to Shueisha in 1995. This earned him the Weekly Shōnen Jump's monthly "Hop Step Award" in 1996, granted to promising new manga artists. This was followed in 1997 by a pilot version of Naruto (NARUTO-ナルト-), published in Akamaru Jump Summer. In 1998, Kishimoto premiered as a Weekly Shōnen Jump artist with a serialized version of Karakuri in Weekly Shōnen Jump, but it proved unpopular and was canceled soon after. In 1999, a serialized version of Naruto began publication in Weekly Shōnen Jump and quickly became a hit.
Meh. This was so boring! I thought seeing all the kages in one place would be interesting, what with devious political plots and long history of backstabbing among the ninja nations, but somehow Kishimoto makes it seem like a bingo game for elderly at a remote, sparsely populated parish (or at least that's how I imagine bingo games...) The only saving grace is Gaara, who grows admirably into his role.
As for Sasuke, I'd have been happier if he just poof! disappeared from the face of Earth ;) His arc is so unconvincing it's actually painful to read. This is the one character in Naruto with no development whatsoever. Hard to believe even Sakura exhibits more growth than him.
Also, that Messiah "debase and turn the other cheek" behavior of Naruto is kind of worrying. To pull off this kind of storyline you need strong foundations, and here, just beating up someone unresisting because of the need to vent is just plain stupid.
Another secret-unveiling volume, with major repercussions, as the decree to hunt down Sasuke launches Naruto on a pointless journey of diplomatic veto'ing while Sasuke shifts his attention on the Gokage Summit on his mission to avenge Itachi. Another terrifyingly epic battle begins and ends on a cliffhanger.
This could've been a really great volume, had it not been for Sasuke's name popping up on almost every damn page. He's steadily evolving into one of the most annoying characters in manga history.
The Gokage assembling and giving us a broader look at the current politics of the 5 great hidden villages thorough their bitter exchanges is definitely a highlight, after we've seen the complicated relations between Konoha and Ame, a smaller village. It's been a while since we've had some proper worldbuilding.
Another highlight is yet again Sai's spectacularly well-written character. They should've kept him as a permanent replacement for Sasuke. He's a better comrade, and an even better friend to Naruto and Sakura than Sasuke was or will ever be. Same thing for Shikamaru, it's so refreshing to see the Konoha 11 determined to finally deal with Sasuke's edgy ass.
I probably shouldn't have taken that 2 week hiatus from Naruto. This volume was so over the place. Too many names, too much to take in. I feel overwhelmed
This volume is a setup for the next great chapter in Naruto, deepening the meaning behind Naruto's promise to bring Sasuke back and attempting to bring peace to the ninja world. The summit of the Kages seems impressive but little seems to come of it except Sasuke's crashing the party and making himself into the number one rogue of the world.
The plot of the story is that all of the kage are meeting at a summit to talk about the allied Shinobi force. The characters of the story are: Sakura, Sai, Yamato, Jiraiya, Tsunade, Suigetsu, Zetsu, Danzo, Gaara, Raikage, Itachi, Karin (not a fan👎😩😖), Madara, Jugo. The volume is better than the other volumes because the creators introduce all of the kage (the leaders). It is exciting for the kage to be finally introduced into the manga. The art does describe what is happening in the story. The characters are drawn well and their actions are done properly. It has made me want to read the next book. I would recommend the book to more older kids like young adults because that is what the book is rated for. I would not recommend the book to young children like one, two, three maybe even more like it would be more for people like ten and up. No,make it 12 and up. I would read the previous volumes before doing that.
As the five KAGES of the five great village meet, we have so much out in the open and its good to see the their leaders but the main topic is Akatsuki, and how they are a wanted organization and the others are saying how at times they have employed Akatsuki and this leads to conflict and when they talk about a joint operation led by Hokage, we have him exposed, that he has the Sharingan and so no one trusts him, meanwhile MADARA tells Naruto and others the story of Itachi and Sasuke, and the Uchiha and Senju and how they will always be at war, and Sasuke is the Uchiha and Naruto- the Senju and so they are the next generation to war and its a good revelation and adds so much depth and complexity to their relation, meanwhile Sasuke finally fights the Raikage and its awesome and brutal and something! One of the better volumes as we head into the next big saga! The art keeps getting better and the shading too!

I absolutely hate Sasuke. I want someone to literally kill him right now! What the hell is wrong with him. Also a lot of things happen in this volume, things that'll be extremely important for what's to happen now. I feel so bad for Naruto.

I think that the friendships and crushes we had at 12 shouldn’t be so all consuming at 16 especially when said object of desire literally hasn’t been around since they were 13-14 and constantly tries to stay away and fights them and actively loathes them. Naruto and friends, y’all would LOVE therapy
Coming off of THE best arc, this had heavy shoes to fill. It mostly dragged with tons of new characters introduced. I’m sure I’ll come to like then more but right now there are way too many to keep track of.
The FIve Kage Summit starts and ends very quickly as Sasuke infiltrates the summit. The volumes leading out of the epic Pain saga are kind of building up to something much bigger that will reveal itself in the upcoming volumes.
