Raymond E. Feist was born Raymond E. Gonzales III, but took his adoptive step-father's surname when his mother remarried Felix E. Feist. He graduated with a B.A. in Communication Arts with Honors in 1977 from the University of California at San Diego. During that year Feist had some ideas for a novel about a boy who would be a magician. He wrote the novel two years later, and it was published in 1982 by Doubleday. Feist currently lives in San Diego with his children, where he collects fine wine, DVDs, and books on a variety of topics of personal interest: wine, biographies, history, and, especially, the history of American Professional Football.

Magician was my first paranormal fantasy read. I fell in love instantly and the rest as they say is history. I have each and every book in this series and they are so old the pages are yellow but that doesn't stop me from re reading them all the time.
Raymond E Feist is an author like no other.
Do yourself a favour and get stuck into this series now. You will love the many other characters.
"Two spoiled little sh**s" се превръщат в героите на своето време и спасяват света от война.
I’ve read all Raymond’s books published to this point. Definitely putting this series up there! I originally thought after following so many ConDoin’s stories that these ones would be slightly dull but they both read better then some of his other books
Very glad to return to Midkemia and to re-read this pair of stories that expand the reader's knowledge of the wider areas around the Kingdom of The Isles. Three sons of Arutha find themselves in very foreign places with tasks ahead of them. Well-written, enjoyable stories
Written with guests usual style looking forward to reading more of his books although I have already read the serpent war books 20 years ago I think I'll be buying them again in ebook form.
Since revisiting the Feist saga of books I have been amazed at how he das created and developed characters with a thread throughout all the books so far. This series of two books kept the theme going!!!!
(FYI I tend to only review one book per series, unless I completely change my mind on a series, so want to change my scoring down a lot. -- I tend not to read reviews until after I read a book, so I go in with an open mind.)
4.75*
Finally getting around to actually saying something to go with 5 star ratings!
First time read the author's work?: No
Will you be reading more?: Yes
Would you recommend?: Yes
------------ How I rate Stars: 5* = I loved (must read all I can find by the author) 4* = I really enjoyed (got to read all the series and try other books by the author). 3* = I enjoyed (I will continue to read the series) or 3* = Good book just not my thing (I realised I don't like the genre or picked up a kids book to review in error.)
All of the above scores means I would recommend them! - 2* = it was okay (I might give the next book in the series a try, to see if that was better IMHO.) 1* = Disliked
Note: adding these basic 'reviews' after finding out that some people see the stars differently than I do - hoping this clarifies how I feel about the book. :-)
