Evaluation is essential for ensuring the effectiveness of social work and the survival of agencies. Dudley divides evaluation into intervention, implementation, and impact-measurement stages, and describes practical skills and techniques in a comprehensive and readable format. Students and practitioners alike will find that the skills covered in this book are central to their work.
If I didn't have to read this book for a class, I would not choose to read it. Overall, it provides great information on evaluating programs in social work and it does factor in a micro-level, but overall, it is dry and feels like I'm reading about mathematical concepts. Sorry, Dudley.
