The Write Stuff is actually the third book in the series LOVE LETTERS. Each book in this series has its own characters, and these characters are book specific and do not continue in any of the other books. When I read this book I did not know it was the third in the series, but enjoyed that it was written for first time readers of the series.

The story revolves around a senior named Hannah, her best friend Rachel and the new boy in town, Dylan. Hannah is very athletic and has always been surrounded by boy friends all her life. However, she has never had a boyfriend. Rachel is the school's official "It Girl", and she has never been without a boyfriend. Dylan is the new boy in school, who moved to Colorado from London.

The first time Hannah and Dylan meet, Hannah believes she has found just the right guy to date. As they begin talking and discussing similar likes (i.e. their love of horses - Hannah owns a horse and works at a stable - and their love of the outdoors - Hannah loves rock climbing and belongs to an outdoor group, which Dylan decides to join), it is time for class. In the lunchroom, they again start talking with the guys Hannah knows from her outdoor group. As they are talking, in walks Rachel. Dylan is instantly smitten with Rachel's stunning looks and beauty.

Dylan sends an e-mail to Rachel to introduce himself. Rachel, who is not that literary, asks Hannah to help her. Hannah writes a series of heartfelt e-mails to Dylan. Dylan thinks they are from Rachel and believes he has found the girl for him - but actually it's the writer he is falling in love with.

Dylan and Rachel have a first date at the football game. Rachel asks Hannah to come with to help her out with the words that Hannah wrote to Dylan. Hannah is enjoying herself until Rachel points out that she and Dylan are on a date. Hannah goes home alone, and feeling terrible.

This book, along with Perfect Strangers, was one of my favourite books to read in grades 10 and 11. I read this one a few times, though I definitely read Perfect Strangers more. It was nice to read them both again and relive the memories. Unfortunately, reading it 6-7 years later, I feel like I didn't enjoy this one as much. The plot is a little weak, and it's way too predictable , and that also made me find Hannah sort of frustrating and I started to not really like her. (How did I not pick that up as a 16-year-old??) Also, Hannah in general just seems a bit too much like a know-it-all when she's around Dylan (the new guy), so it was a little difficult to think much of her. But, all in all, still a not-bad read.
Favourite character: Rachel. Sure, she's a little ditzy and boy crazy, but she's not one of "those girls" who are obnoxious and show off-y; she's really sweet and nice.

This is one of my favorite books and I desperately want to read the rest in this series because I LOVE 'Perfect Strangers', another one of the Love Letters that I own. These books are pretty short, but fun, witty, and pretty realistic, too.

In this one, horse riding and rock climbing Hannah meets cute and British Dylan and instantly falls in love. Unfortunately, Dylan has the same 'love at first sight' with her best friend, Rachel. He even goes as far as to email his feelings to her and Rachel has Hannah write a reply for her, since she doesn't really like typing. The email comes straight from Hannah's heart, though, and isn't Rachel at all. So, while Dylan falls in love with Rachel's looks, he's really falling for Hannah's writing, too. If only Dylan wasn't so perfect for Hannah, she might be able to let him go...

After reading this book, I thought it was a pretty corny book. Though Dylan was falling for the wrong person, he finally knew who he like the whole time after all. The person that Dylan thought he liked was Rachel because of her e-mails. But then the emails were actually written by her best friend Hannah. The more Hannah wrote, the more she was attracted to him. While Dylan soon finds that it was different talking to Rachel in person than in the letter.

My favorite part in the book was when Dylan and Hannah get together.

My least favorite part was when Dylan liked Rachel for her looks.

I kind of grown out of this book, but no-doubt it was a good coming-of-age novel for preteens struggling through puberty and friendship problems.

The characters were believable, plot wasn't very fresh but nevertheless cute. Really corny, especially whatever Dylan was saying, but eh, I would recommend it to little girls. Also showed how guys could be kind of shallow c:

This is a fast, easy, short, and corny book to read. Even with the side of corny I still enjoyed it very much. The book is filled with drama, romance, and action. The main characters of this book seemed to have tight bonds, which I could relate too. I would definitely recommend to those who are looking for a corny and cute read.
