Two years have passed since events described in "The First Key", the sixth book of Ulysses Moore series and now Julia, Jason and Rick with Anita, a girl that appears out of thin air in Kilmore Cove with misterious book written by Morice Moreau, are facing a new adventure of finding a Country that Dies as well as a new enemy, in the form of dangerous critics that call themselves Arsonist, who destroy everything that seems improper and have anything to do with fantasy and imagination.
I love Ulysses Moore books and even though they were written for kids and teenagers, I've read them in a one go. Once you start reading it, you must finish it, because there's so much going on, there's so many mysteries... And when you finish one book, you immediately want to start reading the next one. But the funny thing is... I didn't buy the first book because of the contents but because of the cover. And that is another thing I love about those books - they are so beautifully publish that you want to stroke them and look at them endlessly.
Though it's the first book on new adventures, I think this part of series will be even better than the first one. The villain is much more frightening than Oblivia Newton, maybe because it's an organisation, an association of sorts and way more unscrupulous than Oblivia.
I'm really thrilled about those new events and I think I'll devour the rest of books in just few days.

- Non lo so. Una valigia?
Il vecchio giardiniere ridacchiò. - No. Deve possedere immaginazione. E cos'è l'immaginazione?
- Fantasia?
- No di nuovo. Immaginazione è "immagine in azione".

Tak terasa saya baca Ulysses Moore buku ke-6 bulan April 2021 lalu.

I really liked it.

[It's actually 2.5- 2.8 not 3]

I really don't know what to say for this book... I'll tried to be objective while rating it and not let my own preferences get in the way of this review.
Personally, seeing those new characters and this new purpose, kinda threw me off. I was so used to the storyline of the first 6, invested, and it was what drew me to read the whole thing. Trying to solve the mystery of the doors, the identity of Ulysses Moore. The 6th book ended in such a way, that I was expecting a sort of continuation, more answers, so when I started reading and for some chapters I was reading the story of a completely new characters, it felt like I started reading a new series, and I didn't read it with the same excitement I read the rest. (But, this could just be me, who doesn't like it when
things get changed)
I like the new villains, however I don't have a full (again, objective)opinion on Anita yet.
I really wanna see where this is going, how it will connect to the rest of the books.

Btw,
I can smell the trouble coming :')

Livro 📚: A cidade escondida ⠀

Um livro que recomendo imenso! 🥰⠀

-----------------------------

Ok so, here it comes.
Books 1 to 6 have all sorta travelled in the same direction and book 7 definitly felt like it was a walk on a parellel lane. It did not shift the plot completly but there were definitly huge changes.
For one new main characters and the story is seen in the beggining through their eyes.
As well as new villains, very interesting ones should I say, I mean what’s the whole point of what they do? Who has a job like this? Why so bitter sir, like WHO HURT YOU?
I feel like the series are going in a different direction then one could think in the beggining. There’s magic involved? Like obviously there were already impossible things happening in the first 6 books so it’s not a very big surprise.
(if you’re reading this before reading the book, it’s really just a slight touch of impossible, not exactly houdini type beat happening)
At first I was apprehensive to leave the comfort zone that the first 6 books put you in, bcs there is this change with new characters and the story behind told from they’re pov until they reach the original main characters, but I’ve said this once before, the mind of this author is immaculetly beautiful, everything makes so much sense and he’s able to connect everything so well. I really wanna see what part the arsonist’s play in the other books or if they are just passing by.

It’s a 3.9
I cant give it 4 because the beginning was SUPER SLOW! The first 2 chapters were not needed. The first was spent looking for a cat, and I barely remember the second.

After that it really improved! I loved how now we kinda have books within a book (if you read it, you know).
I liked the characters alot, the meeting Anita had in Veneza with a certain character was cool to see and I loved following her on her adventure!

I think that the only characters I hated were the boys who were always messing with Jason and Rick. They were ridiculous and unecessary

So far this is my favourite. Now we meet Anita, finally! Alongside Jason and Rick, they are devicing a plam to explores a sad, frozen village stuck in time near the French Alps. It’s a well-paced story, full of quiet and emotional weight balanced with the introduction of new Villains. The best part is how the book describe Venice and the steps Anita took to reach Kilmore Cove, absolute literature!

This book is so hilarious and everything that happened is so uncalled for 😭 i suppose this book serves as a bridge that connects the sixth to the eight book and it’s doing a great job! Not too fond of Anita because shes too…bland? I hope we get more of a background of her in the next book

An amazing adventure series I couldn't stop reading! I had to learn to read in Italian in order to finish the series in Italian, because only the first 4 books are translated to English.
