I feel like this book in many ways sets women back. Mallory is the MC whose goal is to become of partner at the law firm she works. She definitely meets the conditions of a woman in a man's world/work force, until she has to work with a good looking divorce attorney, Jack.
Jack tends to take things that Mallory says during client interviews to heart and sees them as negative, so he isn't too kind in return. So Mallory ends up using her womanly wiles and to me it becomes a step backwards for women. Definitely not in the workplace!
I won't even say anything more because the title says the rest of it for the reader. Not my cup of tea, but maybe it is for you (whoever "you" might be).

As a Carly Phillips fan I have to admit to being more than disappointed in this story; there is simply nothing about it that I enjoyed. The dialogue is horrendous; it's one cheesy line after the next, it all felt juvenile and unrealistic. The best of the horrid lines was "he wanted to be the man to plumb her hidden depths." I laughed so hard I was crying! Their chemistry goes from being non existent to being exaggerated and unbelievable.

I can understand the whole vacation/office fling. It happens, it's believable. But after a few embraces these two start acting like they have uncovered each others life's secrets. Give me a break. I picked up this book thinking it would be like Carley's other books, but I was a little disapointed. I liked it but I don't think I would read it again.
Mallory is a woman on a mission to become a partner at the law firm that she works at. She has sacrificed just about everything to get to the top. She has de-feminized herself and worked non-stop for 8 years, but now she has been assigned to work with a handsome divorce partner. Mallory and Jack go away to meet with their client at a resort and when Mallory tries to put her own feelings aside about how the clients wife has been treated, and use everything for their client, Jack makes a comment about how cold she is and Mallory doesn't like that!
Jack is a partner at the law firm that has a real problem with marriage. He not only has watched his clients go through the ringer, but he has watched his father take it for years from his mother. Mallory seems an enigma to him. Non descript but definately smart and on the job he accepts her assignment to help him with this new client. But he is tired of women without a heart. He is looking for a little softness, a more careing femanin woman. When Mallory makes a cold hearted comment about useing something about the wife against her he makes a rude comment about her being cold.
Mallory is out to prove that she isn't the cold hearted woman that Jack sees. So she sets up a little seduction scene and when Jack shows up he is surprised to find that Mallory is different than what she protrays. The beautiful and sensual woman that sent him the invitation is so different from the day-time one he is blown away. But Mallory only sets him get a little glimpse of the real her and ends their night.
The next week is spent with Jack and Mallory taking turns at seduction. But though they think that this is all a game, their perseptions of each other are changing and they are comeing to mean a lot to each other. What will happen when the real world has to come back into the picture?

I am not new to Carly Phillips and her writings. I can say I’m consistently inconsistent when it comes to whether or not I like her books. Seduce Me was not overly impressive, but it was okay.
Jack Latham is a well known divorce attorney in his law firm. He’s almost as well known for his win record, as he is for his motto that marriage is the ultimate evil and that women are the enemy. He enjoyed women for a night or two, but that was it. He would never be caught in a relationship let alone a marriage. That’s why when a female colleague is catching his eye and making him think thoughts of the future he’s not only confused, but it has turned his life upside down.
Mallory Sinclair has spent her entire life trying to prove herself to men. Her dad always wanted a boy and has never hid his disappointment that he didn’t get one. Mallory is convinced that if she can just make partner he will finally be proud of her. To make partner in the all male law firm, she has to gain the respect and trust of the older, conservative partners. If hiding her sexuality behind severe hair, no make up and ultra conservative clothes is what she has to do to achieve that then so be it. Now, she’s being summoned to help Jack in a divorce case. The very eccentric client is requiring the pair to stay at his resort, so he can get to know them better. How is she going to hide the real her night and day for days on end?

This book was a nice, quick read. It was very basic and not overly cerebral, but great if you are looking for a quick beach read or something of the sort.

While visiting my family in Pennsylvania, I managed to squeeze this in during the few quiet moments. The ice princess associate lawyer has to work with the sexy partner on a case. He hates women and she has daddy issues. Of course they are perfect for each other and are willing to throw away everything to pursue each other? Well maybe not quite, but close. If it weren't for some redeeming sex scenes, this would have been a solid two stars.

A VERY FAST read.Plenty of build up to keep you interested. Has a happy ending. Classic Carly Phillips. You can always count on Phillips for a great beach/weekend read.

At first I didn't like this book at all. I found the characters very stereotypical in an out-dated sort of way. But as the story unfolded it became clear that the stereotype, at least for our heroine, was very methodical and deliberate and she hated it. She just didn't see another way. She wants to make partner and she wants to impress her parents. Mallory Sinclair is an attorney. A winning attorney. Jack Latham, a partner in the firm, is a very winning divorce lawyer. Doesn't believe in love, certainly not after seeing his mother cheat on his father during their entire marriage. They are paired up to win the account of a very wealthy man who wants to divorce his wife. But nothing is ever that simple. When Mallory meets the wife she is reminded that there are two sides to every relationship and this time with Jack at a seaside resort is going to test her side to the limit. It was sexy, it was fun, but it took a while to get past disliking the main characters and seeing them as flawed human beings to enjoy the story. However, it is easy to see why Phillips is so successful at what she does. Her ability to capture sexual tension is pretty flawless.

Don’t let the title fool you. It’s not page by page of sex. I read it as a lark and really enjoyed it. I needed a distracting entertaining story and this book provided it.

I was quite surprised to see that almost everyone that read and reviewed this book were disappointed. I for one, was not. And I'm glad that I didn't look at the reviews before I read the book. I found the story entertaining, enjoyable and pretty realistic. I had a hard time putting the book down, but tried to snatch as much time to read it as I could. The characters Mallory and Jack were believable and I was drawn in their story from the beginning. I even recommended the book to a friend and let her borrow my copy. I advised her she might need a fan while she was reading it, and she laughed and said she'd better not take it along for a family weekend at the cabin then. I realize this is chick lit, but it's a romance story, with some (okay a lot) of erotica moments in it, but that was part of what I enjoyed so much. I'm not sure if I've read this author before, but I'll definitely look for her in the future and won't hesitate to read her again. Very enjoyable book. I was sorry to see it end.

The client is expecting them to drop everything and stay at his resort so he can tell them details of his divorce and he'll then decide whether he'll hire them to represent him or not. Mallory's firm has a strict no dating policy, and since she's a rule follower and attempting to become partner, she doesn't want to do something she'll regret, but she's very attracted to Jack, and knew this "getaway" was going to be rough on her. What starts out as a knee gut reaction to something Jack said to her, turns into so much more, as they both take turns daring / seducing the other. It isn't very long into their time away when they both realize that their getting to know each other has changed the way they think and feel. Will they go against company policy and have an affair....?

Dated, but still a good story. This is the second or third time I have read it. Both protagonists had lousy parents. Mallory Sinclair's parents wanted a son and when they had a daughter instead they made it clear that their love story did not include her. She has spent her entire life trying to prove to her father that she was as good as a son and has worked her way up the ladder at Waldorf, Hayes, Greene, Meyers & Latham law office to be a top real estate attorney and the sole surviving female, by being an ice queen. Jack Latham, aka The Terminator, is the gorgeous, brilliant young partner, who specializes in divorce. His parents have dissuaded him from the institution of marriage, since as long as he can remember his mother has been unfaithful, flaunting her affairs in front of his father, but his father has just taken it. Jack can't understand it and has been waiting for his father to pull the plug on the marriage. Jack and Mallory are sent to the resort of their biggest client to convince him to let them handle his divorce. But the client keeps ducking them and they are left with too much time on their hands, hands which end up on each other. Not only do they get insight into the other's psyche, but discover more about themselves as well.

Jack and Mallory are sent to a resort to meet with a client who wants to get a divorce. Mallory tries to stay all business, especially around Jack. But when he criticizes her icy demeanor, Mallory decides to show him her inner seductress. During the course of their erotic invitations, they begin to truly confide in each other and really fall in love.
I have read and enjoyed a few of Carly Phillips other books. I did like this one. It was a nice quick read. The sex scenes were steamy. The characters were likeable. But the story did seem to follow a pattern. It was one of those books were you knew it would end happily ever after.

Jack and Mallory are two lawyers for the same firm; Jack a powerful divorce attorney with a troubled family life and Mallory determined to make partner with her own unhappy childhood in the shadows. For being lawyers, they are never in the courtroom and for some bizzare reason are assigned to persuade a rich client to sign with their firm. Of course they have to go to his vacation get away to do this, and of course it is not just a one or two day wine and dine of the client...the author did a good enough job of giving both characters motive and showing how they became the way that they were but was too quick to wrap up the ending.

Well, I have to say, I loved the book. I sat and read the whole thing in a day. I love the was that it is written, that rings so try in our lives today. Many choose work over love because we feel it will hurt or hinder us. Erotic Invitation show that love could be right in front of you or nowhere at all!
When Mallory gets pulled into a high profile case with Jack, she is determined not to let her fantasies about him get in the way of the success she has built for herself at the firm. Jack couldn't seem more in agreement with his casual way of insulting her 'frigid' mannerism. This however sets the tone for a challenge, a challenge that will prove that there are two sides to every coin, flipping it only increases the chances for falling head over.....

It is a very good book on seduction. Jack is a hot shot divorce attorney and partner in a large New York law firm. Mallory is the only female associate ans really wants to make partner. She and Jack are sent to a resort in the Hamptons to woo the owner who is getting a divorce. The resort owner isn't the only one getting wooed on this trip. Mallory has had a thing for Jack for a long time. He sees only her ourward persona as tha office ice queen who wants to be a partner. Mallory sets out to change that and ends up with her HEA.

Better than most books from this author, as for once it did not feel too much like a forced comedy without any realism.
The lead characters however lean towards being caricatures of career-oriented professionals, the plot was not the brightest ever and clearly included a few weakening loopholes. There are not much in terms of secondary characters, though one of them was rather more interesting and humane-looking than the others.
However I felt the whole romance relied too much on seduction games and seemed quite shallow to me.

Just plain dumb. Held my interest enough to finish it, but it was pretty short. Not much dimension to either character and a silly premise. Would definetly not recommend this one.
I picked this up on a whim as I was in the library and needed something quick to read while waiting on something...and I had just finished another book by this author that I did enjoy. I will still check out more by this author though.
