I really enjoyed this book, would have given it 4.5 if I could have. You really care about what happens to Lillian, Edward, Rufus, Maude, Walter etc. They are all such kind people. Walter in particular embodies what a person can achieve when they dedicate themselves to helping and improving people’s lives. His character was well written and definitely an inspiration. For him, community is everything and he welcomes all newcomers. The strands of the story all come together nicely, to an uplifting finale. Would recommend.

My comments:
I am really enjoying this series, the second book was fantastic. I really like Lillian and Edward as characters and there story was really interesting to read. It's really fasinating how people lived in these times and it's clear the author does her research into the subject. I'm looking forward to the third book in this trillogy and then going to go onto the eastby end saga in the near future which is based in the same vally.
Hello Everyone, I just finished Golden Dreams by Anna Jacobs this is the 2nd book in Jubilee Lake saga Silver Wishes is the 1st book and the 3 rd book Diamond Promises comes out in November......this one is about some new people Lillian , Edward Riley and others and of course this lovely man Walter Crossley and his own family see how everyones lives change when they come to live at beautiful Ollindale valley ...........Anna Jacobs is a fabulous author and has now written over 100 books she writes historical fiction and modern ......so do yourselves a favour and enjoy....😀
this really should be a 3.5 i enjoyed it more then the previous one. This has more of a found family feel then the 1st one as new residents move to the village and become friends with walter and his great family. There was somthing about Lilly i really liked.
however somethings seemed to happen really slowly then the ending was really quick i was like after all that its over in a coupe of pages.
Lillian was forced to Marry a Man she didn't love her husband had a secret he beaver told I cluding his wife. untill he died and she found letters . She had to get away from her in laws forcing to change her name and move where no one knew her. Did Lillian who's real name was Mary find happiness? or a terrible mistake.
Another really good book by Anna, Mary's husband died, but her Father in law tried to force her to live with them until she could prove she wasn't pregnant, so she escaped using a different name, will she find true happiness
This book had lovely characters and a story of change and hope for the future. I do love all Anna's books, especially the continuing series where the old characters meet with the new ones.
Lillian is a very brave young woman, she makes a new life for herself amongst good and honest folk. But there's still danger lurking around the corner.
