When I moved to a new town with my abusive father, I did everything I could to blend in, disappear and stay out of the way. Having lost my hearing, I avoid human interaction at all costs. When I saw Knight for the first time, I felt like gravity disappeared and nothing else would ever tether me as strongly as he did. Every time after that, I did the only thing my self-consciousness would allow - I ran and hid. Until one day, a forgotten wallet, over-sized (but necessary) sunglasses, and a slip of scribbled paper changed everything. When I first saw Maggie, the gravity that held me to this earth shifted. It was no longer a magnetic pull explained by physics that held me here. It was her. Fire red hair, eyes like wet moss, and a scent like the air right before a heavy rainstorm, she consumed my mind. I watched her, waited for her, and when she finally let her guard down, I slipped in and consumed hers as well.
When Maggie needs him most, will he come for her? Will he fight for the love that has grown since before they ever met? Will he protect her from a threat neither of them are aware even exists? The answer is simple. "Always, Butterfly. Always."
This is Book 1 of the Devil's Vengeance MC and contains the story of Maggie and Knight. Each book will be a standalone with different couples but over lapping characters and an over-arching plot.
This book is not suitable for anyone under the age of 18. It contains explicit scenes between a tiny, damaged female and her huge, overbearing protector. This book contains scenes and discussions that some might find triggering such as attempted SA, on-page and off-page domestic violence/child abuse, and descriptions of revenge and violent scenes carried out in the name of protecting those that you love. Proceed with caution and prepare to swoon.
If you like MC romance, who hurt you, cinnamon roll MMC's who also will unalive someone for you, disability awareness and badass FMC's, this one is for you!!
I Alpha read this book and I'm so happy I did. I normally don't like MC romance, but Knight just hits different. The perfect mix of "who did this to you", strong FMC who struggles with disability, mixed with the perfect amount of steam, and found family? Sign me up for all other MC books written by this author. The side characters in this book draw you in just as much as the MC's and makes this book a perfect, blended, 'dive right into another world' read. You can really feel the relationships and family bonds this club holds. Also, as someone who suffers from deafness, I appreciate the disability rep so much.
Things to note: -Knight has a beautifully dirty mouth on him. -You touch his girl, you die.

I love MC books, and was excited to discover a new one. The premise was good, but the delivery was lacking. The writing was too cheesy, especially for an MC book. The H has loved her for 3 years, but in all that time had never spoken to her, and didn’t even know she was deaf.. The h, who is scared of everything and has to hide behind someone all the time, is supposed to be “the Queen”? And after drawing one picture she’s automatically talented enough to apprentice at a tattoo shop?! The H’s dialogue was awful, the whole nuts and bolts each speaking partial sentences was stupid and the OW drama with Amy was so juvenile it was cringeworthy.
I honestly can’t wait for the next book! Absolutely loved Maggie and Knight. Their relationship was so full of love and written wonderfully. I loved Chains and how protective he was (hoping his is next!) Thank You so much for writing such an amazing book!
Read this book in less than 12 hours. I was hooked from the beginning, which is always a plus for me! I can’t wait to see what the next book has in store!
"Someone told me once that accordin’ to Greek mythology, humans were originally created with four arms, four legs and a head with two faces. Fearin’ their power, Zeus split them into two separate parts, condemnin’ them to spend their lives in search’a their other halves. Layin’ in bed with my Butterfly in my arms, I was certain I’d found mine."
Maggie moved to town three years ago with her abusive father. Due to that abuse, and her being deaf she isn't the biggest social butterfly. But there is something about the MC president Knight that calls to her. For years she has gone to the local coffee shop on the same days and at the same time so that she can see him. She has never spoken to him or interacted with him, only observed from afar. Little does she know that Knight has been doing the same. The time has finally come when he decides it's time for them to be introduced. He is shocked to find out that she is deaf, but he is still intrigued by the slip of a woman. Unfortunately for Maggie, things at home escalate, leading her to reach out to one of the only people she knows might be able to help her now that she knows she exists, Knight. Knight is determined to make Maggie his. She needs time to heal her physical and mental wounds, but with his help and the help of his MC she will get there eventually. But Maggie's father might not be the only person they need to worry about.
Maggie and Knight's relationship is pretty sweet. I liked Maggie's innocence and the strength that she gains from meeting Knight and the others in the MC. The only thing that bothered me was that Knight had been interested in her since she was 15. He waited until she was legal to make a move but it still came off creepy. Especially when she was explained as being a tiny four foot eleven "woman" that doesn't wear makeup or anything. It makes it sound like she still looks like a 15 year old girl and this guy in his 30s? is sexually attracted to her? I chose to ignore it because I love a good damaged FMC.
I look forward to seeing which characters come next in the series. I do hope that more of the ones mentioned find love outside of the MC because it seemed like all of them already had interests but they are people they already know.
Also, Knight's inner dialogue didn't match the way he actually spoke so not only was it unnecessary but it also made his chapters annoying to read at times.
3.5 stars. Strong introduction to a new MC. I liked the main couple, but was more interested in Mia/Chains by the end. Wasn’t a fan of how overtly hostile OW were to Maggie and Knight just kind of let her (and Jessie) handle it. He had the power to stop those women in their tracks but instead let them belittle and mock Maggie (all while fawning all over him). He also didn’t do anything in retribution for what her dad and his friends put her through and in the end she was hurt again by them. Knight lost a lot of credibility as a protector with those glaring shortcomings. Overall an interesting read.
“Bruise? What do you mean, a bruise?” I looked at the phone and saw her text, openin’ it quickly. Shark grabbed my attention ‘fore I could read her message. “Man, I don’t know. You finally meet her?” Shark was one of three people that knew about my near-obsession with my Butterfly. Smoke, Shark and myself. I had started callin’ her Butterfly ‘cause she was so small and always disappeared when she noticed me, like the wind just swept her away. It’d stuck, even after I learned her real name, and we all called her B, for short.
Lol what? No thank you. Also why is he “talking” like that in this thoughts? Like half words?
This book was so good y'all!!! I loved it. I loved that "B" had the most AMAZING red hair, I loved that she was deaf....even tho the way she ended up that way was tragic and made me so mad🤬🤬🤬 Knight was truly her Knight in shining armor 🥵🥵🥵 I'm surely hoping for more of the crew and their stories. Especially Chains🥵🥵🥵 look at me falling for yet another motorcycle club🤦🤦 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟's for me!! I'm on to the next y'all!!! Happy reading everyone ❣️
This is the first book I've read by V.M. Morgan and it will not be the last. Maggie is deaf and has more than a crush on Knight, the pres of the DVMC though she never acts on it. When fate intervenes, their story begins. What a story it is! Can't wait for the next book in the series. V.M. Morgan you have a new fan. Well Done!
I devoured this book. The introduction to this world and MC club was perfect. I can not wait to read more of this series.
I absolutely loved Knight and Maggie. Maggie’s circumstances before meeting Knight were absolutely heartbreaking. This one definitely has some dark content so if that’s something you need to know about before hand check the TWs.
There’s something about big burley scary men turning into cinnamon rolls around their women and that’s what we have here with the entire MC. Never have I wished for justice as much.
I really thought I'd like this one more. I do love MC stories but this one was just meh. I really liked Knight and his protectiveness towards Maggie and of course I loved the age gap but Maggie just didn't appeal to me. She experienced a lot of abusive trauma and I have no idea about those kind of situations so my assessment of her is probably not fair.
I really enjoyed Maggie & Knight. I am really hopeful Chains & Mia will get a book. For a minute I was concerned that Chains was going to be a casualty to the plot because I really started liking him and the connection to Maggie. Which brings me to Stella, who was she exactly? Did I miss that somewhere or was it never discussed again?
Overall I thought this book was okay. The biggest I had was in the dialect the author used when characters were having their inner monologues. It was awkward and interrupted the flow of the reading. No one really speaks that way in their head.
The story line is great and the characters are even better! The story has depth and it was easy to fall for Maggie and Knight. I can’t wait to see who is featured in the next book, but I have a feeling I know who it will be!!
I loved this book!!!!! Took a bit to get used to the way the MMC spoke. It did take me outta the flow of the story. Had to go back and reread the word to make sense sometimes. For the most part it was an enjoyable read. Definitely looking forward to reading more from this author.
Fantastic read, absolutely brilliant, loved Knight and Butterflies story ❤️❤️❤️ it had everything I wanted and needed in an MC book. Can’t wait for the next one, hoping it’s Chain’s story. 100% recommend this book to everyone ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This book kept me engaged. Trigger warning for some sensitive topics But a good balanced read with some spicy parts That appeal to the romance reader along with Plenty of biker vigilante type justice.
Great read. This book has it all. It is a quick read, great story line, "who hurt you?", FMC learning her strength and more. I loved the addition of the FMC being hearing impaired. I can't wait for the other books in the series!!
Didn't really have any expectations going in but Holy shit! It would have blown them out of the water anyway. I read this book within a few hours. The spice be spicing. The love be loving. 🥰🤌 I need more. Can't wait for the next DVMC book!!!
This story had me in tears at multiple times. What a brave heroine and a strong man. I'm a sucker for a good MC Romance and this more than hit the spot. I hope there will be more of this MC to read!
2.5* Really enjoyed it, but the writing lets it down badly.
While I really enjoyed this book, the writing is terrible. Aside from a HUGE amount of mistakes, I’m not sure if the author is trying to write like Knight speaks or it’s just incredibly badly written. I didn’t understand half of what he was saying. For example Knight thinks: I looked up the line’a her body. There’s a lot worse than that.
Then there’s the other mistakes. Mia looks really upset as Chains takes a woman into his room. Then Chains is sat with Maggie. He can’t be in two places at once, which is it? Maggie at the beginning of the book has a broken rib but manages to have wild s*x with Knight, with no pain. Maggie gets a tattoo across her ribs and she does NO aftercare on it at all, and has wild s*x with it and it doesn’t hurt.
Then there’s the way that the author almost portrays Maggie as a child. Yes Maggie is 15 years younger than Knight but she acts so young it felt creepy at times. This isn’t helped by the fact that when Knight first sees Maggie and thinks how beautiful she is, she’s only FIFTEEN! The author tries to say she’s 16 which isn’t much better, but she wasn’t, as Maggie says she was only 15 when they moved to the town.
Maggie and Knight have liked each other for three years, but Maggie is deaf and tells herself he wouldn’t be interested. As she lives with her dad who abused her physically, Maggie’s life is miserable. Until one day when Maggie is rescued by Knight and taken to the Mc’s clubhouse. Knight is the president of the Mc, and I liked him but the insta love thing was way o.t.t. I wasn’t that keen on Maggie as she’s written as almost childlike and at 4 foot 11 and really skinny she did seem really young. Too young to having s*x and way too young to be the ‘queen’ of the Mc.
There is a tiny bit of danger which was a massive letdown, after the author had built it up during the book. It is enjoyable but sadly way too many mistakes spoilt it.
