This book is way better than the first. As a girl who was bullied for 7 years in elementary and junior high school, it was really hard for me to read and then reconcile the fact that Ella accepted and forgave Jace so easily. Sure it was forced in the beginning, sort of, but it was still quite unbelievable. This book had the two starting from a much better place. The 5 day punishment at the beginning of the book was difficult to read, but it was a small price to pay to get to the punishment with Jude later on. I'm so excited to see how things pan out with Jude being back in town. I'm looking forward to seeing what punishment he comes up with for Nessa and if anything happens between he , jace and Ella. How far will Jace and Ella go to please one another, and will Jude's feelings and desires for Ella intensify and become something more? Oh, so many questions! I can't wait to read and discover the answers. Well done to the author! ******
Below is some of my thoughts from during the time I was reading the book. I will do my best not to give away anything while ranting, but I can't promise there won't be any. Proceed with caution!
I'm still reading this book, but I have some thoughts already that I have to get out. First, I'm only on chapter 8 of a 65 chapter book and I can already tell that I'm gonna have to resist throwing things. At the end of the first book, I thought Jace had gotten past his bully/asshole tendencies but I was wrong. He's upset about something Ella has done and he's punishing her for it, but I think he's going way overboard. He's being way too harsh and cruel. I can't wait to get past this part of the story, because I really don't like this. Ok, back to reading. Keeping my finger crossed that I survive this.
I am now up to chapter 10 and I want to junk punch Jace until he swells up and pops. How dare he do that. He has shown many times that he can be an asshole of epic proportions, but he's never been outright cruel on purpose, not to this extent. He just lost every bit of the faith I had built up in him and his intentions towards Ella. He's not a Dom, he's a boy playing at being a man.
Personally, I think Ella let him off far too easy. She acted like she was in the wrong and his trangression was simply forgotten, like her 'sin' was worse than his. She made a simple error in judgement while trying to do something nice for Jace. Jace, however, made a huge error in judgement while being vindictive. The two do not compare. I understand that he was scared and worried, but that doesn't give him the right to do what he did, especially that whole scene at the club. WTF was that? Did he really think that was the best road to take? What a jackass!
Ella is a very frustrating character. One minute she's fighting and standing up for herself. The next, she simpering and bowing to Jace, and not in the D/s way.
OMG!!!!! I just can not believe it. Elise! I understand she's a young girl who was duped, but the choice that she made... it was one no sister should ever make. I can't believe she believed that lying scumbag over her sister. I'm not sure what Ella is going to do, but I know this puts her in any awful position. She now has to decide whether to ever trust her sister again. If I was their dad, I'd be contacting the police and filing SA charges against M for being with Elise given her age. Wow... just, WOW!!!
Alright, so I'm up to chapter 23 and so far so good. Jace and Ella are doing well, if you don't count the stalker. Their relationship is doing much better. After the 'punishments' were over, they seem to have found a rhythm that is good for both of them. Let's see if they can keep it up.
I don't think it's over. I feel like Ella may have had more than one 'admirer'. I'm still scared for her.
So the punishment with Jude was HOT! There were a few things, like Beth 'cleaning the mess up', that were gross, but the rest was very interesting.
Chapter 46 was very funny. I can't get over the Bet. How did Jace not see that one coming. I saw it coming a mile away. Classic! LOL!!!
Jude says he's 'crushing' on Ella, but I think there's more there. I think the feelings are mutual too. Ella seems to be enjoying Jude as well. I don't think her feelings for Jude are anywhere near her feeling for Jace, but there's something brewing. I'm not sure Jace would have a problem with it, simply due to the way he reacted to Jude being with Ella on the bed, Jace just seems comfortable with it, now that he's seen them together. However, if something came of it, where would that leave Beth? Would it turn into a foursome, or would her and Jude go their seperate ways? So many questions, so many roads yet taken.
Nessa is a crazy B*T%H!!!!! I hope both Ava and Jude give her several just punishments! I can't believe Elias wanted Jace to continue even after hearing what Nessa had done. It's a good thing that Ava was there.
The ending, the cliffhanger, makes me really impatient to start the next book. I'm looking forward to seeing what Jace response to Jude's question will be.
Ella’s journey has been rough, but with Jace at her side she’s managing to handle the hard times. As they move further into the lifestyle, Ella’s finding that her darkness is a beacon of light to others. As long as she has Jace, everything will work itself out, but when there’s some unexpected happenings, how will everything fall out? I absolutely adore this couple (and a bff) more than I can explain!
Such a great series. I couldn't put down either book. I love the dynamic between all the characters. The love that Jace and Ella's have is beautiful too.
I love Ella and Jace! I am so happy have seen Jude again and can’t wait to start the third book! Also, I’m hoping Ella finally catches a break in book three!
Book 2 in this series was such a great way to continue this story of Ella and Jace. I was so happy to see Jude in this book and hope to see more of him in the other books! The rollercoaster of experiences in this series is relatable to many. I struggled with bullying in my childhood years and this series has been healing for me and I greatly appreciate Stays work for this reason. Every time I pick up one of Stacy's books a little piece of my heart is healed each time. Really eating up this series!!
I can’t… Stacy Rush always amazes me… the hurt and anger I felt.. to the love.. to … other feelings… ughhhhh I love Jace and Ella and THANK GOD I don’t need to wait for the next book …… ON TO THE NEXT!!
