This time the story unveils quite well. Almost everything that didn't work in "Après l'Incal" is not here anymore and, with a few additions, everything makes much more sense now.
The drawing and coloring are simply amazing! So much detail and work was put into them, it's a very beautiful piece, really impressive!

I enjoyed the art (the details, the style, the colors) very much and I think it's up there with earlier John Difool story arcs. The story though? Not sure yet, at least that first volume did not create an insatiable desire for more.
Yet I will move on to #2 and give it a chance - if only to see how this final story of John will end.

That one is as crazy and good-drawn as Incal. Reads smooth and a really turn-pager. Now I want to see more of it:)

Seemingly promising but the tempo of the book is quite quick, especially in the beginning. It throws you into the action of the book but while the first page or two do a good job at this it becomes a problem very quickly; it is an abundance of information and it feels like somebody tried stuffing a lot of content in just a few pages. Overall, I liked it but I wish it had been longer and that certain things had been shown or explained to us as well.

Este livro agarra no depois do Incal e repete e adiciona mais uns pós para se transformar num novo livro . Podia ter sido uma continuação mas não é tão boa quanto poderia ser . Com a passagem a um buraco de cruzamento de universos temos a presença de 4 Difools e apenas 1 pode amar verdadeiramente Louz.
Tenho curiosidade pelo que vem apesar de poder ter sido melhor conseguido visualmente

Jodorowsky vond bij nader inzien zijn oorspronkelijk einde voor de hele Incal-dinges (“oef het was maar een droom”) niét zo goed, en besloot dan maar een ander einde te brouwen.
Op het einde van zijn leven had Moebius geen goesting meer om te tekenen voor Jodorowsky. Hij heeft één boek gemaakt van Après L’Incal, en dan was het genoeg geweest. Knip en plak een stuk interview daarover:
« Q : Il s’est passé huit ans entre la publication du tome 1 de Après l’Incal avec Mœbius et celle de ce premier tome de Final Incal. Vous paraissait-il important d’apporter certaines modifications, et si oui lesquelles ? S’agit-il d’ailleurs d’un complément ou… d’un recommencement ?
R : Ce n’est pas du tout un complément, moi comme écrivain dans Après l’Incal de Mœbius, je me suis trompé. Je ne sais pas quelle idiote de mouche m’a piqué pour décider que toute l’histoire de L’Incal n’était qu’un rêve. Idée extrêmement facile. Après une cure en mangeant des noix de coco chez les indiens d’Amazonie, j’ai récupéré mon intelligence chamanique. Les sages rats à huit pattes que j’ai vus dans mes délires m’ont prié de recommencer l’histoire. Moebius, gentiment fâché avec moi, a décidé de ne pas me suivre dans cette voie “schizophrénomystique”, j’ai dû attendre huit ans pour trouver un artiste à la hauteur de la nouvelle version. Le rêve s’est transformé en plusieurs mondes parallèles. »
Jaja, Jodorowsky bleef Jodorowsky. De mens was in de 80 en nog altijd even zot.
Hij heeft uiteindelijk in José Ladrönn een ongelooflijk goeie vervanger gevonden. Nee serieus: de tekeningen in deze drie boeken zijn echt fantastisch. Béter dan wat Moebius op het einde maakte, vind ik, en dat zegt bijzonder veel.
Ik wou dat ik hetzelfde kon zeggen van het — wat daar moet voor doorgaan — verhaal. Pijnlijk heel erg slecht. Pijnlijk ongrappig, pijnlijk onorigineel (héél goed gekeken naar Druuna, om maar iets te zeggen), pijnlijk bordkarton, pijnlijk onlogisch, pijnlijk, pijnlijk, pijnlijk.
Ook heel oneven: het begint degelijk, neemt dan een irritante slapstick-draai, en verdrinkt uiteindelijk in de ene na de andere belachelijk iritante deus ex machina.
Ik zou bijna elke pagina in groot formaat aan mijn muur hangen, maar ik kan niemand deze zooi aanraden.

Dieser Band stellt den zweiten Anlauf da, die Geschichte von John Difool und dem Incal weiterzuerzählen. Die erste Anlauf mit Moebius hat Jodorowsky nicht zufrieden gestellt, und holte José Ladrönn als Zeichner an Bord. John Difool ist wieder der Schlüssel, dieses Mal im Kampf gegen den Mechanomutanten, der einen Virus freigesetzt und alles Leben vernichten will. Er wird verfolgt und kann immer wieder knapp entkommen. Die Menschen können nur in einen Metallkörper transferiert überleben. Aber hinter dem Ursprung allen organischen, dem Baum des Lebens steckt auch nur eine göttliche Maschine. Difools Mission, sich in Liebe mit Luz de Garra, seiner einzigen Liebe vereinigen, das wird das Universum retten. Am Ende des Zyklus "John Difool vor dem Incal" hat man Difool die Erinnerungn an sie vermeintlich aus dem Gedächtnis gelöscht. Am Ende des Albums hat er mit Hilfe ges göttlichen Orh alle Verfolger abeschüttelt und ist unterwegs zu ihr, doch nun gibt es vier Versionen von John Difool. Komplikationen sind vorprammiert.
Typisch für Jodorowsky ist die mystische Überhöhung des Kampfes von Maschinellen gegen das Organische, das mitunter subversive Spiel mit Elementen der Religionen und der krude Humor.
Ladrönns Stil lehnt sich natürlich an den von Moebius an. Er eifert ihm gekonnt in der Detailversessenheit nach, dass es mir manchmal richtig zu viel wurde, und ich ein Pause brauchte. Die Story ist mal wieder so bombastisch wie verschroben, langweilig wird es da beim Lesen und Schauen nicht.
Als Beigabe gibt es die finstere Comic-Story "Tears of Gold", die erste Zusammenarbeit von Jodorowsky mit Ladrönn, publiziert für das amerikanische Ausgabe von "Heavy Metal". Ein Junge weint goldene Tränen und macht seine Famiie reich. Klar dass er nicht aufhören soll zu weinen...

Ladron ga je rasturio. Nastavak price je ok. Nekako deluje zbrzano, nepotpuno i povremeno van fokusa. Citajuci ga ne mogu da se oduprem osecaju koji serijal Inkal stvara kod mene pa je mozda ocena i malo veca nego sto sama prica iz prvog toma zasluzuje. Kao celina - veoma dobro. Kao zasebna knjiga - prosek.

Ya no está Moebius pero José Ladrönn cumple con creces. La historia como siempre casi no tiene mucho sentido en cuanto a coherencia refiere pero Jodo sabe darle su toque de comedia y los personajes siguen siendo entrañables.

Le montage des cases de ce tome-ci est beaucoup plus compréhensible et accessible que celui de Après l’incal.
