Great account of a premier outdoor photographer and wilderness explorer. Some spectacular black and white photos.

You could pick this book up just for the beautiful, historical pics taken by Ira Spring, but his witty stories of a young man growing up in western WA and falling in love with the mountains at a time when men (and women!) still wore wool makes you read it over and over.
