"¡Ah!
Key is truly the most insufferable love interest I have ever read. He is a judgmental 22 year old and I have no idea why the 30 something year old women in this series fall apart when he insults them. I love this series, but it is incredibly grating when he pops up EVERYWHERE (even with Kaori in this volume) and judges their behavior and choices, acting as a catalyst for them to question their entire lives. Perhaps it’s a cultural disconnect, but I hate reading about him and can’t stand his interactions with the main cast. I wish they could come to self-realization without him harshly berating them every five seconds. I don’t want the ice around him to melt; I just want him to go away.
I continue to love and adore this series! There are some truly beautiful and pivotal moments in this volume. And that cliffhanger! OOOOOO I NEED THE NEXT ONE NOW!!!! Please read this amazing Josei title!
These gals really do push the line between sympathy and cringe in their reader, sometimes. The pub snacks and Key will deliver their harsh truths (no one likes a know-it-all, Key) and Rinko and co. will keep on with their bad habits and bad decisions when it comes to men!
Kaori and Koyuki are both realizing that the affairs they're having aren't sustainable in the slightest, which is a relief because that cliffhanger from the last volume genuinely got me worried.
At this point, it cracks me up how Key cannot resist getting involved in Rinko's business. Obsessed much?
It appears as if the last three volumes aren’t available on Kindle Unlimited so I’ll have to put them on hold. It looks as if my little reading binge is over, for the night.
Las situaciones en las que estas señoras "Y si " se encuentran las han orillado a abrir los ojos de una mala manera Así mismo puede que Rinko vaya a cometer otro error
I'm torn between continuing reading or stopping. I like the manga story, but the opinions the mangaka spouts makes me feel like she really looks down on single women, or a specific type of women, or just women in general and it makes me feel so uncomfortable. I'll maybe try one other volume or chapter...

2.5/5 It was alright. I read it at a busy and hectic time in my personal life and it didn’t grip me enough to read in a one sitting or a couple of days, which is generally why I love to read manga outside the stories and art styles. I do think I’ll like the remaining volumes of the series when I’m in the mood for the series.
I'm still really enjoying this series but it sure does take its time and seem a little indecisive. Stuff actually happened in this volume and I hope the characters move on from their mistakes instead of circling back into them.
this was okay but when key showed up at the end i was temporarily possessed by the spirit of regina george wanting to aggressively demand why he's so obsessed with rinko. it's too bad rinko won't channel that energy!
I’m starting to think Key might actually have these women’s best interests at heart, even though he goes about trying to “protect” them in just about the worst, cruelest ways. He finally gets poor Kaori away from Ryo, but only by telling her she’s not even his 2nd woman, she’s his third, and she should just run now. I feel so bad for Kaori - she was actually feeling a little hopeful when she thought she might’ve been pregnant, and able to have a baby with Ryo.
And then you have Key showing up on Hayasaka’s date with Rinko. No matter what his feelings for Rinko are (I still can’t figure that out), I think Key would’ve stayed out of it if he thought Hayasaka had genuine feelings for her, but it seems like Hayasaka just wants her for comfort? So maybe Key’s intrusion is his way of protecting her from getting used? It’s sort of sweet in a way.
And poor Koyuki. She keeps trying to cut it off with Maori, but he keeps pulling her further in and further down. She keeps crossing line after line she never thought she would, and now she’s at the point where she’s become someone she doesn’t even recognize. I hope this is rock bottom for her and she can finally really cut off contact.
Akiko Higashimura is one of my favourite manga creators. She creates relateable characters that are easy to identify with and her quirky sense of humour never fails to make me smile and laugh.
Volume 6 of Tokyo Tarareba Girls is one of the best instalments of the series. Our trio of heroines make some major life decisions as the plot continues to move forward. What makes this volume so outstanding is the chapter set during the wrap party for the web based TV series. It is one of the funniest scenes that I have read in a while. I laughed so hard that my sides hurt. This is a must read for fans of this series or of Akiko Higashimura.
I really like this series even if I hate Key the bowl-cut guy. He does serve a purpose at least in this volume when he gets one of the our three musketeers inspired to get out of her train-wreck relationship.
This is mostly a volume that focuses on Kaori and Koyuki with Rinko as support although she gets her moment towards the end. Even Mami comes into greater focus in a surprising way. But the one who has to face the most crunching "What If"is Koyuki.
These women are maddening at times but they aren't cruel or even stupid. They own their bad decisions. They even walk into their decisions knowing it is bad. That's what makes them maddening but also weirdly recognizable.
Another cliffhanger! I'm not sure how to feel about Key. Is he supposed to be a "tough love" kind of guy or is he really just as messed up as the rest of the cast? Probably both... I'm just really routing for these women!
This series started off slow, but as we near the end it's turning into a soap opera. Plot twists and pregnancy scares abound in this volume, and I'm loving the ride towards the conclusion of Tarareba Girls.
So, we get a LOT of relationship drama in this one. Though it's not bad, it's getting a bit eye roll worthy at points for me. There are three volumes left, and comixology unlimited took them off, so I'm not sure when I will finish the series.
Kaori gets a wake-up call. Koyuki gets a wake-up call. Rinko gets... a surprise rebound. The question is: Will these developments stick? Is Kaori really done with Ryo? Is Koyuki still with Marui? Will Rinko's potential new romance work? And what is up with Key?
I just want to reach out through the page and give our heroines a big hug. The conversations and the situations have become a lot more real. Even the milt and liver are used effectively now. Even Key's obnoxious omniscience helps to advance the plot.
At this point the author/her publisher was definitely writing with a mind to having the collected volumes end on solid cliff hangers. Great strategy! I also entirely adore the advice column bonus comics at the end of each volume.
