Travis Carter is a motocross superstar with a dirty mouth and an even dirtier mind. He's my wild, out-of-control, mega-annoying stepbrother...and he's also my brand new husband. Things got a little crazy in Vegas, okay?
But it's not what it looks like, I swear! I'm Laney Brown, up-and-coming investigative journalist extraordinaire, and this whole marriage thing was just supposed to be a way for me to sneak into the world's most exclusive honeymoon hotel for a gossip blog I'm working at.
Too bad Travis doesn't buy that for one second. He thinks I married him because I want him. That secretly, I lie awake at night yearning for his touch. To be fair, he used to be my celebrity crush before our parents got married and he knows that, don't ask how.
But that's ancient history! I'm going to prove him wrong, get my scoop, and divorce this insufferable jerk as fast as I can. All I have to do is survive two weeks at a luxury Hawaiian resort full of newlyweds, celebrities, and private beaches without hopping into bed with him and consummating our marriage.
Oh, yeah, and I have to pretend to be in love with him the whole time.
You know, I hope our honeymoon suite has a really, really cold shower. I have a feeling I'm going to need it.
This was a really cute story about Laney and her stepbrother Travis. Laney is in journalism, and Travis is in motocross. They get drunk and accidentally get married. This was Laney's idea because she wanted a promotion at work. They win tickets to a hotel in Hawaii.
Hitched was a fun, light read! Both Travis and Laney were easily likeable, their chemistry palpable, and it wasn't hard at all to hope for the best in how they were going to survive the end of the honeymoon. The ending was sweet and tied things up rather nicely.
But the low rating is for the typos. A misspelling here and there I get, but missing words? Duplicated lines? It tripped me up during the read and made me wonder if the editor may have skimmed chapters here and there.
i must say i like their dinamic the going back to how they were as younger was a bit blah at the start but then it picks up and its a great bild up, it did left some part to the imagination like:
I must say i like these book and fufill the hole of what the book was meant to be.
Great chemistry... a great read. Happy they, Travis and Laney got their HEA... Travis Carter is book boyfriend worthy. Just like my two other Travis's ... Travis Maddox (Beautiful Disaster)
Travis King (Checkmate : This is War/This is Love)
This was a nice easy-going read with a good balance of romance and sexual tension. The author doesn't play too much on the taboo so throughout you're focusing on getting to that happy ever after.
Okay now this book deserves a 5 out of 5 star rating. The book was quick and easy and I read it in a span of 2 days. The first reason I liked to read this book was because Travis the male main character is not as cocky and arrogant as the other men in books I have previously read. The second reason I liked to read this book was because Travis also is the first man in the books I have read that falls in love first instead of the girl. The one reason I don't like this book is because Laney the female main character does not want to give into what she wants which is Travis. I recommend this book if you motorcross, tropical getaways and fake marriages for interest that turn into real marriages for true love.
OMG I loved every second of this book. The only part I didn't like (Spoil report) When they call for the sex toys and him wanting them to bring something every half hour I wanted to now what they received and what the y did with them. Michaela knows how to write a steamy and funny book I will be reading more of her books.
This was a light, funny, yet sweet story. I enjoyed the dialogue and banter between Travis and Laney. The buildup to their lovemaking was well-crafted, but I had a problem with spelling, grammar and editing errors throughout the book.
I'd definitely try another book by the author, though.
