Blast from the past, this printed archive of the famous suck.com daily screed out of the basement of the wired.com castle was a must read back in the day. Reading today about back-handed references to Pointcast and the snottiness people had for Slate.com when it launched is a lesson in internet media history.
A book of articles from a long-vanished web-zine called Suck.com. It's a pleasant trip back in time, full of the pompous hyper-intellectual snarkiness from their late 90s cyberpulpit. If's there's any real drawback, besides the somewhat dated material, it is the conspicuous absence of the hilarious comics by Terry Colon and Polly Esther. Still, it's an entertaining and nostalgic read.
I got nothing from this; admittedly I barely got into the double-digit page numbers, but I couldn't see the point of continuing. I'm sure it was a lovely blog back in the day, but as a book...meh.
