Shepherd Security Digital Team Member Caleb ‘Hound dog’ Smith has been tapped on to also cover the Operations Center over the last few years. He has excelled at every task assigned to him and proven himself to be a valuable member of the team. Margaret has given us a bit of everything to make this a page turner. There is action, suspense, drama, danger, tension, angst, emotions, secrets, and a hell of a lot more. Twists and turns abound that you don’t see coming.
The action starts right from the beginning and keeps on coming. It is also a bit of a rollercoaster ride, but this is one series you will get addicted too. It did take me a while to get into the story and used to Margarets storytelling but once I did it is easy to enjoy the stories.
Make sure to start at the beginning as characters do cross over. The stories are told through multiple POV’s as you really get inside the characters heads and know what they are thinking and learn who they are better. These wonderful characters are well written, complex, and fully realised. These alpha men and women are saviours and will do anything to protect those who they love and those who need it to fight against evil and those who wrong others.
There is religious overtones which often had me wondering if I would continue, and the sexual references are left more to the imagination, but the stories soon outweighed all that.

As usual this was a very good read, one of the best of the series. Every time a new book is released in this series I stop what I'm reading at the moment and read the newest release. Have loved them all!

Suspense, action, romance
This is another great book in this series, full of suspense, action, and romance. I love the characters and the way they interact and work as a group. I love the way there are several different threads to this story. I enjoy that God is sprinkled into the story just a bit. It's a very entertaining book!

Shepard s Wedding!!!
Finally Sam and Diana’s wedding! It was beautiful and Diana’s dress was gorgeous; the ceremony went off without a hitch and Lambchop once again made me cry with his words.
That doesn’t mean that there isn’t something going on for the men of Shepard Security. Hound is front and center coming out of Ops to lead the team he second guesses himself but ultimately surprises himself with how well he did.
While I had some of this figured out I didn’t get it all right which made this a great read.
Once again Shepard Security gets the job done

This book is a continuation of the series with Caleb (Hound dog ) and Hollyn story. This is a story of a girl ‘s journey to find her true self and a man who helps her. Loved the storyline and the characters. I can’t wait to read the next book.

Caleb and Hollyn
Caleb, aka Smith and Hound Dog, is a computer nerd and loves solving puzzles, he is polite and thinks family is everything and he takes care of his father. He works in OPs and he’s on the Digital team. While setting up security for Shepherd and Diana’s wedding at her family’s lake home Caleb goes into the closest small town for a burger and beer and enjoys watching the beautiful bartender. Ansley, aka Hollyn, is happy and friendly with the patrons and laughs a lot. She took the job as a bartender to raise money to pay for truck repairs she didn’t authorize. The mechanic had offered to deduct money if he slept with her. When she advised the sheriff he refused to bring charges against his cousin. When the mechanic comes into the bar he demands immediate service and grabs Ansley, Caleb comes to the rescue. When he walks her to her hotel room and with the help of Sherman saves her from being attacked by the mechanic and his friends. The wedding is gorgeous and brought some tears to my eyes and Diana’s niece shows up and she is someone Caleb knows. The courtship begins. Caleb tries to mend a rip in the niece’s family. There is lots of action, suspense and steam.

October 23, 2024Caleb Smith is an digital analyst at Shepherd Security. He was analyzing where to set up security cameras and other security items for Shepherd and Diana's wedding at Diana's family Lake House. He then goes to a bar to get a drink and food when he sees Hollyn (Ainsley). The mechanic who is fixing her car starts to give her trouble and Caleb steps in by drawing his credentials and gun. Since this person is the cousin of the Sheriff, he seems to get away with a lot of things that he does. Caleb reports to Op what had happened. The team takes Hollyn to a motel but Dex (the mechanic) comes after her with a gun). But Caleb is there and is able to get Hollyn out of there. Caleb and his teammates lend her the money so she could her truck and leave town. Caleb and Hollyn's story begin. Hollyn goes to her next stop and finds out her friends her in trouble. She calls Caleb while she is hiding and the team comes and saves the day. The book was really good and the missions were also. You do need to read these books in order as to understand some of the story being told. Cannot wait to read the last two books.

Team IT Caleb ‘Hound Dog’ Smith is working just outside the town on wedding preparations for Sam and Diana. Stopping for a beer and a burger, Caleb sees the mechanic try to manhandle and bully Ainsley, Caleb puts a stop to it and walk her to the hotel, annoying the sheriff. Shepherd is sent to back up Caleb after he reports the incident and they cancel the mechanic’s plan for festivities when he and a friend come to hurt and terrorize Ainsley.
Ainsley and Caleb immediately like each other but he’s aware she’s told him untruths, including her name! Caleb has a plan to get the real answers but before he can, Ainsley turns up as the team finishes the wedding preparations, Caleb learns Diana’s Ainsley’s aunt then she tells the rest of her story including her name and her dad’s twenty-year-old criminal past. Though the case is old and her dad’s dead, there are threads that affect Ainsley now. The story has too many holes to suit Caleb, he doesn’t like what his investigation uncovers.

This is book 13 but I think it's one of my favourites in the series. Caleb is a really sweet guy and the journey he has had with family is so heart breaking. His love interest has a sad truth she decovered 3 years ago and she did not handle it well set off on her own with a caravan attached to her car she travels until she crosses paths with Caleb and he helps her search for more details that pulls at your heart strings and the mystery keeps you on the edge as they uncover the truth. There is action from when they first meet (not a cute meet more of a that man is bothering you I can help meet)
In truth this book covers, romance,action,thriller,mystery and military Conrad oh and a little humour (undercover work) not to mention past characters are in every book so you still see their journey continue.

A great series

My rating: 3-3/4 stars! As much as this book was good, there were some really slow parts that dropped the rating. I really wanted to fall in love with the female character, but there were times when she felt flat. Plus, the emotional level was not there, in comparison to other novels! It was nice to see secondary characters from other novels … but again, unless you recently read their respective novels, I found it hard to remember events that happened in each and every story! Still …a decent read!

Another great story
Smith works generally in operations but he has done all the training he needs for any duties he might be asked to do. Shepherd is getting married to Dr Diana and he goes to their wedding venue to sort out security. Whilst he’s there he meets Ainsley and is immediately attracted to her as she serves him in a bar, of course trouble follows.
This is quite a slow burner to start with but when it picks up pace there are a lot of unexpected twists and turns. I liked it a lot

A definite must read book and series!
I was hooked on this series from the very beginning, and it just keeps getting better and better! I love that these men and women have created an unconventional family that continues to grow as they each find their own HEA. This was an intense, emotional, and complex story that had many unexpected twists and turns, as well as a terrific ending. I would highly recommend reading the entire series, as well as all of the other stories by this talented author.
I would definitely recommend this book, series, and exceptional author.

Another intriguing book that intertwined multiple plot lines, characters old and new, an HEA couple whose chemistry develops through ups and downs into friendship and love. The author knows her military stuff which shines through characters and plots which grab you from chapter one! Shepherd Security series is a must read which has me returning to the series more than once.

Bitty!
I’m a huge fan of this series. So I was really disappointed by this book. If u are expecting the usual action packed love story then u too will be disappointed. The first half of the book could b completely cut out and it wouldn’t be missed. The rest is bits of stories cobbled together. Not her best by any means. I’ll wait for the next one and read that too because this series is fantastic other than this blip, hopefully blip.

I really loved this series and can't wait for the next book. I loved Caleb and Ainsley's story. I worry about Caleb's father and it hit home with me concerning my late husband. Ainsley is using an this name instead of her own. When you read the book you will understand why. I like the way this team figures things out and come up with a plan. There is some dangerous situations, but caleb is by her side the whole way. HEA.

I just loved Operation:Shadow Angel. The action was thrilling, but Ainsley and Calab’s love story is heart warming - just superb!
