DNF.

I didn't resonate with this book. It felt similar to many other self help books - Brene Brown in particular.

It took me a really long time to actually open this book and dig into it and honestly the audiobook is really what got me over the line.

I love all of Hollie’s work, however the title of this book definitely had me hesitating as I don’t always feel like a “people pleaser” - mic drop, I am.

It was both simple and profound - I wouldn’t expect anything less from Hollie’s work. It brought me back to some very simple, tangible, practical, non-overwhelming ways to start to feel more aligned and like I am living in / choosing / creating my life rather than just letting it happen to me.

I would 100% recommend this to anyone who is feeling at all lost, misaligned, lacking clarity or just needing some “easy” steps and activities if you don’t know where to start.

This book was like looking in a mirror and didn’t realise all the bad habits I had picked up by trying to be a “good girl” and people pleasing can be just as toxic as those who genuinely enjoy taking advantage for others for their own enjoyment. This was an easy read and I love the activities that are in amongst the chapters to solidify what you have read so far. It wasn’t my fave self help book but it was a big wake up call for some more work I need to do on myself. I cannot recommend enough ! I can’t wait to implement some of the advice hollie gave and to lean into more joy & alignment in my world 🫶

Very educational read! I found some of it annoyingly repetitive (like the constant prompting to use the PDF in the book – I think it was more than once every chapter, which seemed a bit excessive), but other than that I really enjoyed the whole work.

The author is wholesome and personable, and her perspective and experience are enlightening. Will try to grab the PDF to do my answers (I borrowed the book from the library as an audiobook). Recommend!

Reading this book is like looking in a mirror of myself-it totally demonstrates how a people pleaser thinks and feels. It hits home on how people pleasers behave and how they want to change as well as what they should do. I felt seen and understood when I read it and I stopped feeling alone in this people pleaser struggle. That meant a lot to me.

Loved this book! Incredibly practical, accessible, entertaining (she teaches so well through storytelling rather than dry advice), and I loved the opportunities for reflection/action through the chapters to help solidly actually creating change in your own life. She’s incredibly brave and vulnerable with what she shares and I have recommended this book to so many people in my life!
