A Young Adult fantasy story that will take you to a completely new world. The beginning of an epic journey in a world where time does not exist.
Imagine opening your eyes while the building is falling apart around you. The room is familiar yet different, and nothing seems to make sense. You must run for your life, only to enter an unknown world. One without electricity or animals, and to top it all off, time does not seem to exist.
This is where Finn, Emelie, Dax and Victoria find themselves after work late one night.
Having fled the collapsing building, they must survive in this strange new world. First things first, they have to find food and shelter before they can even contemplate finding a way back home. When they meet a handsome stranger, their chances of survival improve, or do they?
This world will test the bounds of their loyalty and friendship. Where dangers lurk around every corner. The ultimate question will they be able to make it back alive?
I received a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.
*** 3.5 ⭐
I really liked the idea behind this one, a world where time doesn't exist. I wish we'd learned more about the world and how it works, understanding they don't quite know, more about what it looked like, etc. It's SUCH a cool idea and I wanted more on the environment.
I liked the characters and the idea that the world can turn you "bad". I don't have the best sense of appearance but the personalities were distinct. I found them interesting and developed.
I didn't love that everyone got conveniently paired off as couples. It didn't seem necessary for everyone to get a boyfriend/girlfriend and felt like everyone fell madly in love pretty fast.
Overall, the story kept me interested and I liked adventuring to another world. I hope we learn more about it if there are future instillations. I want to know the "why" and "how" about the world's inner workings.
There were a few mistakes in the text but it's an ARC so that happens. I would read more from this author.

After a late night of work, four co-workers and friends find themselves transported into a strange world without animals or time, electricity or anything modern-day.
They pieced together much of this on their own, but later had it confirmed with the group they met up with.
Being tossed into this new world, they all had to adjust and adapt. It happened more suddenly for some of them, but I enjoyed seeing them becoming more comfortable with themselves and bettering their lives after learning about the lesser known parts of their backgrounds.
Part of that development resulted in pretty much everyone being paired up, but I definitely enjoyed Emelie and Henry the most. Though just as sudden as the other pairings, it just felt more natural to me.
But of course, everything couldn't stay peachy keen. Things turned dark with the introduction of an enemy and I loved it. That whole bit was completely unexpected for me, but definitely was an enjoyable bit of craziness added to the plot.
Overall, with all the happenings in the communities especially, the story had a post-apocalyptic vibe like TWD (minus the zombies), plus a bit of supernatural/scifi stuff. There was betrayal, plenty of adventure and character growth, and lots that kept me engaged. Would for sure recommend to give it a read.
Great read about some co-workers that somehow end up in a new and strange world. Then the struggle to survive begins....will they succeed?
I really loved the book and after finishing a chapter I couldn't wait to find out more about the characters and how they were trying to survive. Would like to read more about the new world and the characters
Love the book, one of my new favourites! I was captivated by the story and couldn‘t put the book down. It is a great fantasy read and I hope we‘ll soon learn more about this interesting world!
The story has a nice reading pace and I love the concept of the new world. Would love some more information about the world, hopefully in an upcoming book.
All in all a fun and easy read, and looking forward to any more work by this author.
Thank you to @katieandbreypa for allowing me to read Inbetween by Megan Huntley in exchange for my review.
Inbetween is about a group who ends up in a new world completely different from the one they know. This is a Young Adult Fantasy with some fun twists.
The premise of this book was instantly intriguing for me. I wish there had been more detail and time spent at the climax of the book. The world building was good and is where most of the book is spent. Overall the book was good, had some slower spots, and good character development and writing.
This was such an interesting book. The premise got me intrigued and the first few chapters hooked me in! It's so descriptive it helps visualize this new world that Emelie, Victoria, Finn, and Dax end up in. The character arcs are superb the turn around especially for Victoria is awe-inspiring! As much as I loved our heroes I loved Dax a little more! Who doesn't love an unhinged women that wants to watch the world burn? All in all this was a great book, a bit of mystery, a bit of action, some romance it's great!
A world in which time takes on a new meaning! As a reader, you quickly become involved with the main characters and it’s eays to connect to them. The story develops at a fast pace and does not bore you for a moment. It seems we have to wait for a sequel to learn more about this fascinating and intriguing world!
I was really intrigued to read this novel as I liked the sound of the blurb. This is a Young adult fantasy story which has a bit of science fiction and post-apocalyptic world thrown in. There is a lot to enjoy and it’s a fast paced, adventure filled story about friendship and survival. I wasn’t too keen on all the quick, sudden relationships that were being formed throughout the story but I did like the dynamic between Emelie and Henry.
I received an ARC of this novel. This review is my honest opinion and is written voluntarily.
A world beyond. Transported to another place as the building you stands in crumbles around you. This place feels the same, but it isn’t. It is familiar, but it’s not. Even the colours are different. And there doesn’t seem to be any sign of life, or is there? As far as dystopian stories go, the momentum is real. The carry through didn’t live up to my expectations.
Finn, Dax, Victoria and Emelie work in an old dilapidated building. They know each other and know of each other. This event tests unknown loyalties and trust between them all. This book is pat discovery of who they are and what they are really like, and how their inner strengths come through. Each back story helps to build this quick metamorphosis they all seem to go through in order to survive in this strange unknown land. Some of the character transformations were solid, others seemed too forced and strange. There is also an underlying theme I found that centred on family relationships (and lack thereof) and belonging, which became clearer with the back stories. When they finally meet others who have also been transported though time to this unknown place, they realise they have to find a way to survive and work out of they can trust those already here to help them get back. The characters also seemed to hook up with each other and others very quickly, and this seemed a little to predictable.
I did struggle with this book around the detail of this new world – the colours and smells and textures could have been ramped up so much more to strengthen the experience of a place that seemed to be so peculiar. I appreciate what it was trying to do and the whole concept of your world crumbling and changing into another one is genius however the detail of the physical transformations was lacking, and the some of the character transformations seemed a little to quick and instant.
The premise of the story really intrigued me, so I couldn't wait to get my hands on the book. And let me say, it didn't disappoint one bit. The way it's been written truly gives you a detailed image of what the "new" world is like, and the relationships between the characters were interesting to follow, how they developed in different ways. It's easy to feel connected to the heroes of the story in their quest to find their way in this strange world while having to deal with a crazy-but-intelligent villain as well. Well recommended for your to read list!
📚: 21/50 Rating: 3.5/5 Date read: Aug. 20-30, 2022
💭 I didn’t think twice to sign up for the book after reading its blurb. I was so curious about the story—a world where time doesn’t exist. Inbetween’s a young adult fantasy with some post-apocalyptic vibe. Why a 3.5 then right? Well.. Maybe I wasn’t into this type of story, not that I didn’t like it but this one’s new to me, I guess. Still it brings out the curiousity in me that’s why I didn’t think twice to finish the book. I like the world building and how each characters are depicted well and out of all the “love teams” that was build in the story, I like Henry and Emelie’s; others’ felt too rushed.
So if you’re curious, and wants to experience thrills in another world or dimension then indulge yourself and get a copy now available on Amazon. ✨
