THEODORE BOBNOGGIN and THE BACKYARD CHRONICLES welcomes us into the magical world of talking animals.

Lies. Deception. Greed.
Unscrupulous real estate developers want Theodore Bobnoggin's land as their own.
Hunting. Trespass. Fear.
The coyote-with-no-name, yellow eyes, and a black heart also wants the Bobnoggin property as his own.
A wicked thunderstorm screams across the Midwest and Theodore Bobnoggin is struck by lightning, straight through the top of his head. His world is forever changed.
Theo regains consciousness blessed with the ability to talk to animals. And they talk back.
Mourning the loss of his wife of thirty years, Theodore Bobnoggin is straddling the line between what is real and what he wants to be real. Theo and his new animal friends form an unlikely alliance in defense of their territory from those determined to take it from them.
You will meet, and fall in love with, a mother grey squirrel and her two kids (one, an adopted red squirrel), a snarky crow, a predatory owl, and a lazy cat with a speech impediment and a predilection for savagery when provoked.
A gun-toting widow next door, a compassionate veterinarian, and a charming teenage couple conspire with Theo and his alliance to stem the tide of human encroachment. Failure is not an option.
Loyalties will be tested. Will the alliance hold? What price must be paid?
Theodore Bobnoggin and The Backyard Chronicles
is an endlessly entertaining story with a rapid-fire pace and intricately woven plot to delight all readers from teens to adults. It will make you laugh, cry, and you will cheer for the oddball cast of characters (human and animal) as you have never cheered before. This is a story about loyalty, courage, sacrifice, and friendship.

This is the first novel in a planned series and will be perfect for fans of WATERSHIP DOWN, THE CALL OF THE WILD, AND PETER RABBIT.

I absolutely loved it. I read a lot of YA fiction, and Theodore Bobnoggin has been one of my favorites. I've read the entire series, 1-3, and it never once lost my interest. Full of humor, action, and characters you'll fall in love with, these books are a must-read for anyone. Be prepared for a rollercoaster of emotions with characters you're attached to- you will laugh, cry, and grin wildly while you read. Amazing job, well done.

One Lightning Strike

Theo is lonely, his wife passed from COVID. The only thing left is his routine. Until lightning strikes. Now instead of dead he feels more alive than ever. Mostly because he has discovered a new purpose. With a kind heart Theo starts taking care of the animals from the woods behind his house. They band together to fight common enemies, sleezy realtors and a coyote with no name.

back yard

Wonderful new YA book. Interesting characters with a wry sense of humor. Many sections make one stop, think, and inquire before moving on. Sections make you want to laugh out loud.

Not my favorite

A good short story with nicely developed characters. Unfortunately (for me), too much emphasis on people and their concerns when I was hoping for more animal interaction.

So I started this book last year but only got a couple of chapters in before I got bored. however, I decided to give it a second chance, and it turned out to be such a cute and quirky group of characters, and the story left me feeling fuzzy!
