Arrow Vaughn is tired of random interactions with women. With everyone around him finding love and maintaining healthy relationships, it’s hard to not want the same thing. His career is intact, his financial status is stable, and he’s a likeable guy. He’s longing for intimacy with one woman who can claim his heart and share his intellect. Despite his need to settle down, he continues to play the field until the right woman presents herself in the form of a patient in need of an anesthesiologist.
Lynn Jolivet is at peace with who she is as a woman. There is only one problem. The doctor warns her that unless major changes are made, she could die within the next two to three years. Scared straight, Lynn decides it’s beyond time to get her health on the right track. When she arrives for surgery, she’s a bundle of nerves, but a certain anesthesiologist has a way of calming her fears but heightening her senses in ways unimaginable.

Look I’ll be honest, Arrow’s story was not one I anticipated reading. Monica did a great job setting the stage and building anticipation for all the other characters throughout the series to the point where you couldn’t wait to see what would happen next but Arrow was like the forgotten step child. Nothing about him ever spoke to me, h*ll I wanted Seneca and Ali’s story more than his and they’ve only recently been introduced to the series. Arrow has been on the scene since book 2 but there wasn’t enough character development for him that made me want more.
Arrow and Lynn’s story wasn’t bad it was just kinda boring. The book itself was good but that was because of everything else that was happening. I was all the way locked in with Seneca and Kaysyn and I cannot wait to dive into book 10. I was sooo happy for Chad and the way he took care of the whole family was everything! I’m glad Yolanda got what was coming to her! If you ask me, Anissa should’ve told Yolanda to kick rocks when she had b*tches showing up to her house ready to fight over a n*gga she knew nothing about. Everyone else’s side stories and updates made the book honestly and that’s the vibe I got from the book. It was more of a “on the previous episode of the Berotte’s”😬It wasnt Arrow and Lynn forward.
I loved the family dinners and the camaraderie amongst the crew! Monica does an amazing job with representation in her books and it was nice to see that here. Arrow was the anesthesiologist that oversaw Lynn’s surgery and he saw her for who she really was. Arrow’s character really was sweet once he hung up his heaux cape but I think because all of the other men in the series are some real ALPHA men he got lost in the shuffle. I still love this family and I look forward to what’s next. I hope we get a Fiji wedding novella hint hint Monica!

Embracing Love
Let me just say this cover is beautiful. They captured all of Arrow's fineness.
This book was okay, but unfortunately I was bored. Lynn and Arrow were a relatively calm couple and I am here for a mostly unproblematic couple, but they lacked passion. Arrow was immediately attracted to Lynn and connected to her spirit. Lynn was hesitant and there was a lot of self doubt that didn't allow her to fully open up. She mishandled their relationship and to me acted childish. Once she opened up she fell deeply, even before Arrow, which was odd to me because he seemed so much more invested.
I liked Lynn and Arrow together, I think with as long as this book is it could have been written more around them as a couple building. The development wasn't there. I was honestly more bought in to Kaysyn and Seneca's drama. I felt like there could have been a better balance between highlighting the main couple and expanding on the stories of the subcharacters.
The issue of obesity was tastefully addressed. We need characters from all walks of life, so I appreciated the approach. Although, I am slightly disappointed because I really enjoyed Book 8 and had high expectations for this one. Overall I'm still locked into the Berotte family and will continue to read the series.

The story of Arrow Vaughn & Lynn Jolivet, was different to say the least! The way they met was unlike any other story from Monica.
I’ll say, I enjoyed them as individual characters more than I did them as a couple! Although, their intimate scenes were on the regular Monica spice level 😂, the couple just didn’t have that umph that the other couples in this series had! I feel that the book was good because of other things that went on around the couple and not them specifically.!
Everything finally came out with Jamel & Yolanda aka messy boots! I was antsy because of this and was shocked that Mama Anissa did what she did 😂! Of course Alexz is a RIDERRRRR 😂! Seneca & Kaysyn remain a mess & I can’t wait to get into their story! Chad’s issue was finally resolved & he blessed the people! I can say that I continue to love the Berotte family 🥰!! I love how accepting & non judgmental they are, especially of new people! The women are the type that I aspire to have around me! I love the relationship that Lynn and Sandrene built as well!
All in all, because Monica is a natural storyteller & although they weren’t my favorite couple, the book was good!

Very sweet but drama was all around! 3.5!
Arrow and Lynn were giving kismet! Falling for your anesthesiologist is so out of the norm I totally understood why Lynn was skeptical. And all that she was dealing with it added to her fear of their love not being real. And Arrow! Whew I see the name works him carrying that bow 😭🔥 I’m going to lie I was nervous Arrow wasn’t going to be able to get it together when it came to Lynn especially with his past hoe ways confronting him. Also things blew back in his face when Lynn’s brother came to town and this was after the mess with Kasynn?! I felt for him but he was reckless with his decision making one time and almost lost it all! The side drama was also great! Loved all the updates on this growing family and glad Saradene and Jamel put Yolanda in her place. Loved that scene! Also Seneca and Ali have me more than ready for their books because the little nuggets we get in these other books are not enough!! Ready for book 10! 😆

First I want to say I’m so glad Yolanda got hers because it was well over due. To me she should have gotten more 🤷🏾♀️.
I also love when they start barking and the baby joins in 🤣🤣🤣. I also wanted to say I love the music recommendations Monica!!!
I so loved Arrow and Lynn together, like they really had a great love story. I understood Lynn’s hesitation because I’ve been there. But even due to Arrows past he never let her believe he didn’t want her and that she deserved happiness and I’m glad she got out of her own way. This book was amazing, I already know he would be a great one. Shy is funny and I would have told the world also. I am definitely ready for Senecas and Ali’s stories because all the gems you dropped in this story is setting up for greatness. GOOD READ
Although Arrow and Lynn's story didn't involve drama it was still a nice read. I loved how the author chose a full figured woman who has decided to take back her life by doing what's necessary to stay healthy. And Dr Arrows encouragement is what gets her through. I loved that Arrow saw beauty in Lynn beyond her physical appearance even though he loves a thick woman. These two may have had a minor setback but there was no denying the attraction, and feelings they developed during their time getting to know each other.

She has done it again yall! Monica Walters has shown us why she is a queen in these literary streets. The way she wrote this book lawwwd I’m still feeling all types of emotions. This book was absolutely perfect, we are given everything needed to fall in love with this couple.
Arrow and Lynn were a whole vibe. I loved how organic their relationship was. We all knew how Arrow got down from previous books so him being for the streets wasn’t a surprise 😆. However, the way he handled any situations that came his way did slightly catch me off guard. From the beginning Arrow let it be known not to the Dr. in front of his name fool you! 🤤 Lynn, on the other hand, was perfect for him because although she didn’t tackle situations at that moment she did handle them accordingly and I loved that because their relationship was definitely tested. I always find a new couple to fall in love with when reading this series and this book was no different from their first interaction I was all in for their journey.
As always I love reconnecting with my in-laws 😏 and meeting new characters that being said I can’t wait for Seneca’s book because I just know it’s about to be something serious. I loved that Arrow and Lynn had minimal drama, and whatever they did encounter, Arrow quickly shut it down. He did make me mad with the Melanie situation. I can't wait to see what Seneca got going on.

After Arrow poured his heart out, at the end of Jamel’s story, I could not wait to see him find love. Bay bee, he did not disappoint! Arrow had such a kind heart and wanted love so badly! I was a bit surprised that the was getting down with nurses at the hospital tho! Man, don’t you know you don’t ish where you eat? You know better! 👀 Lynn, what a sweetheart! I felt her fear as she awaited the surgery that would change her life. But who knew that one of her doctor’s would change it for the better as well! She was immediately smitten by Dr. Vaughn, but he can’t like someone that looks like me, right? Wrong honey! Arrow was feeling all of those curves and was ready for some Miss Lynn!
I loved how Arrow was up front about his past, so that Lynn wouldn’t be surprised by anything that may pop off. However, that heffa Melanie blew up the spot anyway! 🤬 Lynn was already falling for Arrow but wouldn’t let him play her! She took the time that she needed to think and access the situation, before she moved forward. Chile, once everything was in the clear, these two was getting it in, with they nasty asses! 🔥

He just caused more issues by doing that, by putting his woman right in the middle! Ughhh…. I’m so glad that Yolanda is out of the picture tho! However, she needed more of a beat down in my opinion! 😂 Chad! Our smart mouthed, barking Chad done grew up on us! So admirable that he blessed the family like that. Seneca! I feel bad for him! 💔Although he started out being messy, he has calmed down and really became a good man. Only for Kaysyn to lead him on, then ish on him! He is trying to keep his thug tendencies at bay, but I have a feeling that he is going to explode at some point! Kaysyn girl, you need to get yo’ self together, and figure out what you want! Ali is just too quiet. What is up with him? Can’t wait to learn more about him as well! Great job Miss Monica! 👍👍👍

I loved how Arrow and Lynn story line focuses on her health, mental health emotions and those life situations that we choose to hide from the outside world. I don’t often come across or read books that have its story line really cater to plus size women. Well none I’ve read but it shows what we deal with being larger than most and how we view ourselves. And let’s not forget the men who loves us from all aspects and not just our outward appearance but also helps in when changes are needed. We need a few more Arrow’s in the world. And the fact that he won’t scared to put it down no matter what, Whew Chile!!!!!!!!

Arrow And Lynn Are A Perfect Combination
I loved the instant chemistry between Arrow and Lynn. When Arrow met Lynn he was interested in getting to know her and went after what he wanted immediately. There was some hiccups along the way but they worked it out. Lynn reminds me so much of myself. As always I love the Berotte/Extended Family And Friends.

A Genuine Connection
I love how Arrow saw all the beauty in Lynn, inside and out from the beginning. Their connection was genuine. With all the drama happening around them, I don’t think the could have handled any of their own. The little bit they did have was enough. I’m glad Yolanda has finally been voted off the island! Lucked needs to kick rocks as well. There is never an excuse to put hands on a woman and I hope he gets what he campaigned for! Now Kaysyn, she needs to grow the hell up. She is showing that she doesn’t deserve Seneca. I can tell their book is going to get on my nerves. 🤦🏽♀️

Here we have an extension of the Berotte family Arrow... Arrow is the brother to Axton who is married to Alexz... Life around him is changing at a very fast pace... And he is doing all that he can to keep up... But it feels like he may be losing the battle...
I really like Arrow... He is a anesthesiologist... And absolutely loves what he does... He is also the best at it... He is out here just living his single life... But with everyone around him finding love and settling down... He is realizing that jumping around from one woman to the next is not what he really wants anymore... He wants a woman that he can come home to every day... But he has yet to find a woman that makes him want to settle down yet... He really has no boundaries with women... And crossing that line with women at his workplace is just not the right decision...
Lynn is a super sweet lady... She is dealing with so much and now to throw on top of that... Her health is not doing well... She needs to have weight loss surgery in order to help her declining health... All of this is a lot... But after losing her mother... She knows that this is what she has to do...
After Lynn's surgery has been put off multiple times... It is finally about to happen... But they need to make sure that they have an anesthesiologist... So the doctors ask a favor of Arrow... Well Arrow taking on this job at the last minute has changed his life dramatically... One sitting with this patient and his mind is going...
Arrow still has his wild ways about him but something about this woman that he stepped in to help is really pulling him in... He just can't stop thinking about her... He wanted to spend some time with her... He wanted to help her... To him she was the most beautiful woman that he has ever laid eyes on... But to her... Her mental is not quit there to thinking she is worthy of such a man as Arrow...
Arrow really works hard to prove to Lynn how beautiful he really thinks she is... No matter how much she tried to fight it... His charm and how sincere he seems... All pulls Lynn in quickly... But she is battling with herself mentally on so many different things... Like her weight loss, losing her mother and her father popping back up in the picture after all this time... Now she has this amazingly handsome man showing interest... It is all to much for her...
She went into a deep depression and she blocked everything and everyone out... Arrow didnt know what to do... He was miserable... But being the man that he is... He gave into to temptation to try and release frustration... Only to realize that this was one of the biggest mistakes of his life... He decided he needed to fight for what he wanted... And just when things are looking good... Here comes all the drama at the door...
Just as quickly as this relationship started... The door is closing... Arrow just could not get it right... And him being the man that he is... His past actions are shaking things up now... Will he ever get it right... Has the love of his life that he has been waiting for slip right through his hands forever... I guess you will have to read to find out how things will play out for these two...
Now on to see what Seneca has up next for us...

Arrow still has his wild ways about him but something about this woman that he stepped in to help is really pulling him in... He just can't stop thinking about her... He wanted to spend some time with her... He wanted to help her... To him she was the most beautiful woman that he has ever laid eyes on... But to her... Her mental is not quit there to thinking she is worthy of such a man as Arrow...
Arrow really works hard to prove to Lynn how beautiful he really thinks she is... No matter how much she tried to fight it... His charm and how sincere he seems... All pulls Lynn in quickly... But she is battling with herself mentally on so many different things... Like her weight loss, losing her mother and her father popping back up in the picture after all this time... Now she has this amazingly handsome man showing interest... It is all to much for her...
She went into a deep depression and she blocked everything and everyone out... Arrow didnt know what to do... He was miserable... But being the man that he is... He gave into to temptation to try and release frustration... Only to realize that this was one of the biggest mistakes of his life... He decided he needed to fight for what he wanted... And just when things are looking good... Here comes all the drama at the door...
Just as quickly as this relationship started... The door is closing... Arrow just could not get it right... And him being the man that he is... His past actions are shaking things up now... Will he ever get it right... Has the love of his life that he has been waiting for slip right through his hands forever... I guess you will have to read to find out how things will play out for these two...

2.75 Okay Stars….
I more or less liked this… I enjoyed the premise of Lynn, meeting and falling for her anesthesiologist, Arrow, when she’s in hospital for life-saving weight loss surgery. I had never read a romance with a much larger heroine (over 400lbs) and this was executed without it feeling like fetishization or without the romance being about her weight. Much like more recent books in the series, this was very much instalove and for me, the plot trajectory from instant attraction to full blown love felt a little rushed and a little too fast. I did like Lynn and Arrow as a couple and I liked the realism the author brought to their relationship especially with Lynn’s food addiction, her recent weight loss surgery and the emotions that go with that, and the realities of intimacy in a larger body. Neither character in my opinion really seemed relationship ready and their conflicts seemed to really stem from that. I liked them enough that I was glad that they seemed to have gotten their ish together by the end.
For me, my main issue with this book is that I felt like the main plot with Lynn and Arrow was overtaken by the more interesting plot points with Kaysen and Seneca or even Jamel and Yolanda. The two points of conflict between the main characters weren’t very dramatic and even though there was a lot of potential for a deeper, more exciting story for them, it ended up being that I was more on tenterhooks for subplots. I did overall like this but I wasn’t as passionate about it as I was about some of the earlier books. I’m still into the series as a Berotte fan who’s super invested in their world, but for me, the more recent books don’t have the character and plot development the earlier books did.

don’t wanna be a player no more
Arrow was ready to retire his player card. Everyone was happy in love and he was over being single he just needed the right one to give it all up for. “It was time to hang up my playboy shoes. It had been time. Hopefully, this wouldn’t be a long process. If it was, I didn’t know how I would keep myself from reverting to what I’d always known. Sticking and moving..”
Lynn was at a moment in her life where she had to choose between life or death, health or misery. With her history of health issues, depression, and her mother’s death, she chose to live and do what was necessary to get her life on track. She was so lonely.
Arrow was a man who was willing to do it all to be with Lynn. She had a lot of insecurities to overcome and got in her own way a lot when it came to Atrow and her feelings. “Love is a verb. It requires action. OH DR. VAUGHN
I just love both Dr. Vaughn. But Arrow is my favorite. I just love how sensitive he is how caring he is how kind he is. The affection he show to Lynn good God. I love the fact that he took care of his drama and didn’t even think twice about it, because he loved him some Lynn. And he ain’t even much know it. He admitted that he was a hoe before they started. And he knew what he wanted when they started.
I appreciated the process that Monica took us through with Lynn. Her weight loss, her depression, her feelings for Arrow. I hate it when she started feeling guilty about her dad. About how she didn’t give him a chance and how she thought that he had ulterior motives. But I appreciated the fact that Sandrene came in And made her realize that what happened with her and her dad was no fault of her own. The man had 20+ years to be in her life and decided not to. So I was glad when she found peace with that. I’m also happy that her and Sandrene are now best friend. I don’t know how I felt about the situation with Lynn’s brother. I’m still trying to see if he was just being messy as hell or if he really was trying to be a protector. But nevertheless I hope that their relationship will grow and that she will meet her other sibling and the rest of the family.
Can’t wait to get into Seneca and Kaysyn‘s book. Because child who knew that Seneca was so loving I’m excited I am super excited and I can’t wait to see what happens to Lucky.

You gotta love this Berotte family and all of the people they embrace as family! This time the sexy bow legged Dr. of sleep Arrow Vaughn is taking the plunge from single sleep with anything that moves, to pursuing the woman destined to help him settle down! It doesn't hurt that seeing his brother and all his boys succumbing to lives with one woman had Arrow hankering to find his own soulmate. Lynn, a big girl that has taken her mounting health issues in hand by having surgery to help with her weight problem answered the call because what none of his boys seemed to know, Arrow loved big beautiful women and before and after her surgery Lynn fit the bill for who Arrow did not even know he was looking for. Many secrets in this family's dynamic came to the forefront, some friends were lost while others were solidified and finally Chad had his payday!!!! Since we know Chad's case was against the FBI, I wonder if they are going to somehow try to retaliate against either Chad or his family!!! I hope not but it would show us just how dangerous Ali, Seneca, Jungle, Jericho et. al. really are! I can hardly wait. Great story Monica, I enjoyed it very much....

Arrow x Lynn 🫶🏿
This was a cute story, but that's it cute. I feel like this was rushed & some random woman was picked for Arrow 🤷🏿♀️ There was character building like the previous siblings. I also felt like for Lynn to be a BBW, she wasn't given as much as a spotlight that she deserved. The sex in this book was mediocre to me, somewhat forced. Idk what it is, but this book was just alright.
Honestly all the other stuff going on in the book excited me more. Chad & the FBI case. Yolanda FINALLY getting her trifling ass whooped from the east to the west. Finally seeing Sandrene's possessive side. I also loved that Shy & Brittany FINALLY had their twins. & the Seneca & Kaysyn shit had me on the edge of my fucking seat. I'm to ready to dive into to their shit. Not to mention Ali 🤤😍 that softer side that's starting to shine through.

I love me some him!!!…Everything about Arrow was truly lovable!!!…He was a breath of fresh air and I love how he let Lynn know he was there for her and about her!!!…
Chad and all his generosity had me all smiles and giggly because he took care of everyone in their circle!!!…Cant wait to see what is next for him!!!…
I didn’t like that Sandrene was the one that had to be the one to tell Anissa about Jamel and her friend, but baby, Alexz with a Z never lets me down when she plays a part in cleaning up a mess!!!…
I am so anxious to see what happens with Seneca because I want him to find love so badly!!!…I was really hoping that Kaysyn would be the one!!!…I love how the men are letting their value be known and making moves to show it’s me or I’m moving on!!!…I can show you me, but I won’t force me on you!!!…
My heart broke for Lynn to find out about her dad the way she did!!!…Sandrene was the voice she needed to hear and I’m glad it helped her!!!…
Tip know she is dirty for flipping on her kids like she did and I hope that Sandrene leaves Tip out to dry just like she did her children!!!…

Arrow fell for Lynn when he laid eyes on her. Her weight never mattered to him. He admired every inch of her body. Lynn loved looking and Dr. Vaughn with his wild hair. She thought everything about him was sexy. She also thought he wanted to friend zone her. Lynn had a lot she was dealing with and wasn't sure if she wanted to pursue a relationship. Arrow couldn't handle not having her in his life so he went after her. Lynn meeting Sandrene and becoming friends with her was a plus for Arrow. Kaysen should have known she couldn't keep secrets from her brothers. Her husband apparently has a death wish because Seneca may be trying to back off, but he'll kill behind her. Shy once again showed who he was in the court room and Chad definitely came out on top with the FEDS! Chad made sure to bless the entire family, extended family included. Now to see what's next with this wedding in Australia, Arrow and Lynn's future, and Kaysen's drama! Awesome job as usual, Monica!

What a story!! Dr. Vaughn, aka Arrow, was mesmerized by Lynn Joliet upon first sight! Arrow is that doctor we all want, especially before surgery, where he puts you at ease and calms your fears!! Lynn is the confident lady whose life is now dependent on her doing the right thing and with Dr. Vaughn, she does just that!!
Oh, yes, there’s still a lot of drama going on, not only with them, but throughout the extended family!! Monica is so right about reading this series in order!! You’re lost if you don’t!
