I picked up this book after watching author's extensive interview on a Youtube channel. The fact that this is a true story of an extremely meticulous, studious, outgoing, full of life lady, who succumbed to a monster in the name of love, and for her children, shattered my heart.
This is an extremely beautiful story. So near to reality, yet so full of awe. Siya is the managing director of an MNC in India. She is intelligent, successful, and empathetic towards her employees. However, there is a silent animosity towards her, among few of her team members. Siya is not making any effort to break away from her peers' prejudices. Abhigyan is a new addition to the team, who has his own past, but comes across as someone with full of life. He finds Siya reserved and distant. He wants Siya to break away from her cocoon and live life to the brim. Mentioning anything more will be giving away too much.
Note - story has some extremely disturbing incidents of domestic valence, and male dominance mentions.
I do have one complaint from the author. Although there is an English original of this book also available, in fact which was published before this book, I deliberately choose to read Hindi version, to feel the tale in more intimate and delicate manner. The use of Hinglish words and expressions, is the only put down in this book.
An extra star for an absolutely adorable book cover.
