I am in currently in my first year of graduate school for conducting, and this book has been a godsend. Richard Floyd does an outstanding job of summarizing key musical points in a practical, applicable way. At the same time, he shares some meaningful stories that influenced his musical journey and provide insight into the job of the conductor and teacher.
