Welcome to Broomstick Bay! Here the electricity is glitchy, the townsfolk are witchy, and Ruby has a catastrophic problem that is clawfully twitchy.
Everyone loves a good wedding, and the residents of Broomstick Bay are no exception. It doesn’t matter that we’re in the dead of winter and temperatures are ferocious. The festivities are going to be positively howling.
My name is Ruby Crosswell, and I’m a newly re-practicing witch. Not only that, but I can turn into a cat. It’s one heck of a trick but don’t ask me how I do it. I’m still working on the logistics.
Besides, our bakery is three tiers deep into the cake for Heath Banner and his werewolf intended, Fern Franklin. Despite the freezing climate, she wants a pink cake swaddled in hot pink frosting and topped with pink flowers. I’m placing the finishing touches when a pack of werewolves tears through the bakery, destroying the cake.
In their wake, they leave the store demolished and a dead body in the street. According to the newly appointed medical examiner, he was killed by a werewolf bite. Now all of the bride-to-be’s family are suspects, and Heath wants me to prove her family innocent.
But I think it’s more than that. Heath is hiding something, and I’m determined to find the truth. So, I agree to help. What I don’t expect is to discover that Sheriff Wolfton is harboring a secret of his own.
Time to put on my catsuit and meow my way through the clues. Because the town is expecting a wedding and I always was a sucker for a happily ever after.

Ruby as a witch or cat is funny all around however she sleuths. And the hunky, grumpy sheriff is just her match. The mystery was great and the characters personalities have grown in the second story, getting to know everyone better. Look forward to the next adventure.
Wedding Cake and Werewolves book 2 - With fall on the way and Halloween just around the corner I was looking for something Witty, charming, witchy, paranormal, and cozy with found family and friends. Checking all of the boxes and then some. A well written, humorous delight I stumbled across this yummy fun book. Can't wait for the next one
I enjoyed this book. The fun continues on into book two and is just as entertaining. I think you should read book one before reading this book, only because a lot happened in book one, which is referred to in this one, it also gives you a better understanding of the characters and there quirks, likes and dislikes. The characters are fun and strangely human for so many shifters in town. The house is still proving to be a hoot, please don't ever change. Ruby is still having difficulties with her cat powers, which leads to some interesting situations to keep you chuckling as she solves the case. The mystery was good and I like the way Ruby's cat powers not only get her in trouble but also helps her solve the case. So glad I discovered this series, off to start the next book.
Heath, the newly elected mayor of the town is about to get married. The problem is a pack of werewolves run amok through town, destroying the brides wedding cake in the process and leaving behind a dead body. When the bride confesses to the crime, Heath turns to Ruby to prove her innocence and the rest of her werewolf family. Unable to get her cat powers under control, Ruby will have to use all her skills to get to the bottom of who is responsible, especially as the killer doesn't seem to be finished. I like the narrator. She uses her own magic to hook the listener into the story, so they can't leave until the book is finished.
This was book 2 in the "Broomstick Bay" series. This was a pretty good read Ruby Crosswell is a witch who can turn into a cat and its funny. Ruby and her parents are in charge of baking the wedding cake in their bakery for the up-and-coming wedding of the mayor and his werewolf bride but so far, it's been chaos. The bride's sister has been kidnapped, a pack of werewolves chased a werecat through the bakery making it look like a tornado went through it and leaving a lawyer dead in the street. Ruby learns more about her magic and becoming a cat which lets her sneak into the tiniest of places and Broomstick Bay and there is a murder to investigate that she begins to sleuth around. I didn't guess who did it in this one. This was a good read with some funny scenes in it like how Ruby got stuck in her cat form. This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series.
Continuing this series definitely makes things better. Where the first book set up the world and characters now we get to play a little which makes everything a bit more exciting and fun.
This is a shorter book so it could be perfect to have on hand for waiting for appointments or to read in the school pick up line.
Cons:
It is still a bit predictable but for many this could be comforting like a favorite jacket or your comfort food.
Lots of action in this book. In fact, it is difficult to keep up with it all. Ruby buys her own mansion! She attends a wedding as herself and as her cat self, Ruby-cat. Lance has started warming up to both ;-D Ruby is even thinking of accepting a job from Heath, the manor, to handle his PR.
