Many people are secretly dealing with a looming fear and guilt about the quantity of digital clutter they have in their lives. It has become easier to hoard data than physical things, but the stress that digital messes create, and the time and money they consume, can impact you even more than those mystery boxes in the garage.
This book is clearly organized to provide information on how to declutter one digital area of your life each week for a year, giving you plenty of time to do the sorting and tidying while still living a busy life. Each topic lists strategic suggestions for how to improve your organization and declutter the space. Ideas for how to stay organized with less effort and build better habits in the future are also included.
The main areas covered are divided into seven sections: media, money, home and health, computers and mobile devices, social connections, security, and future planning. Topics across these sections will help you with many stressful areas, including email management, cloud storage backups, social network followers, budgeting, photo management, password managers, calendars, and much more.
I’ve read through and am excited to put this in motion! I love the structure and breakdown of areas to address. The week-by-week approach and very specific instructions will make implementation easy- and I may be a nerd, but I know I’ll find it fun and really satisfying too.
I know I’m not alone in wishing more of my formal education had included “how to be an adult” guidance. This book is really going to help me become organized and more capable, and feel good about it!
