The silent intruder watches Tori sleep, savoring his power as he plans his revenge.
Tori Burgess is unnerved when strange phone calls, anonymous dark gifts and odd events begin to dominate her life. She fears her ex-husband is in mortal danger, but soon realizes she’s the target. Could her new beau be the culprit or has an old enemy surfaced?
Silent Walker is “an amazing psychological thriller that is impossible to put down.”
Inge-Lise Goss, a USA Today, Award-Winning Bestselling author, was born in Denmark, raised in Utah, and now lives in the foothills of Red Rock Canyon with her husband and their dog, Ted. She spends most of her time in her den writing stories. There, with her muse by her side, her imagination has no boundaries, and her dreams come alive. When she’s not pounding away on the keyboard, she can be found reading, rowing, or trying to perfect her golf game, which she fears is a lost cause.
This was a fast-paced thriller that will pull you in on page one and keep you turning pages until the end.
Tori's house is being fixed due to a water leak, so she is staying in Brandon's condo, who is her ex-husband. After what she thinks was an affair, they divorced but remained friends, and Brandon is worried about her safety while he is in England, so he insisted she stay where there was a security alarm. As she soon learns, the security alarm wasn't going to help her.
This is a short book and there are a lot of converging storylines and I don't want to give anything away. I will say that there is someone after Brandon and with Brandon's absence, he has turned his attention to Brandon's wife, ex or not.
Tori has to fight through the confusing situations she finds herself in and depends on her friends to help her out. I have to say I wanted to shake her a few times at some of her dopey decisions, but it's fiction, so you have to roll with it LOL All in all, Silent Walker is an engaging, twisty-turns thriller that you can read in a night, and you will because you won't be able to put it down! I highly recommend it!
Tori and Brandon have been in love and divorced but, still branded conferees his innocent. Tori can trust Brandon and has given up on their love and life. There is something afoot and tori keeps giving herself worrying that some one is after her. This was a great story by Miss Inge-Lise Goss. It keeps you guessing till the very end and what all the player are and what will they do next. Julie of A E C anonymous.
I really enjoy psychological thrillers! This one was well written with great characters and the plot kept you guessing. Really enjoyable read ! This is my first book by this author will definitely look for more .
This book was a disappointment... It had potential but everything led up to absolutely nothing. I'm not exaggerating when I say there was no climax in this story whatsoever
This is a cute, almost sweet romantic suspense novella, and I enjoyed it very much. Romantic suspense is one of my favorite types of romance, right after Regencies and Gothics. We have Tori and Brandon. They used to be married, until someone tipped Tori off that Brandon was having an affair. He said he wasn't, but you'd expect that. For all the drama of a divorce, they are on friendly terms. So much so that when a plumbing mishap damages the house she's living in, he invites her to stay in his apartment while the house is repaired. He's going to be in England for work, so she'll be alone. She's started dating again. Her current guy, whom she's been seeing for a month, is something of a cold fish. He hasn't done much more than kiss her, and those kisses are quite passionless. She is thinking about dropping him. She hasn't mentioned it yet, so when someone bypasses the alarm system in the apartment and leaves her black roses, she doesn't include him in her last of suspects. The roses aren't the only new strange things that are happening. There is the caller who just breaths into the phone before hanging up. She feels someone watching her when she's walking to and from work. There is the private detective who calls her about an accident that involved her husband's parked car, in which the driver of the other car died. When she calls him back a couple of days later, his phone is out of service. Someone claims she's been seen in the company of a man who threatened her husband. Since she works at an art gallery, that may be true, but she doesn't recognize that man. He had a thick beard when she saw him last. There are lots of little things like that. She figures these things are aimed at her husband because she's living in his apartment and driving his car. The story has Tori doing her best to keep her husband in England so he'll be safe. She isn't going to be victim, so she does things that moves the plot along quickly. I think maybe too quickly. I would have liked more. It took me less than 2 hours to read the story. All in all, I enjoyed the story. I think you will too.
REVIEWED BY Jill The ARC Anonymous group for my honest review
This is one of the most creepy, intense stories I have read. The heroine is a recently divorced art gallery worker who's staying at her ex's condo while their (now her house) is being repaired after a plumbing disaster. Brandon her ex-husband is in England on business. She soon finds herself dealing with strange things happenings in his apartment. Like heavy breathing phone calls, a delivery of a single black rose inside the apartment while she is sleeping. She’s trying to move one also so she has begun dating a man who seems a little off. Plus the doorman at the apartment seems to be stalking her. Silent Walker will keep you on the edge of your seat but that's okay because you won't want to put it down until you've finished it anyway.
My only problem was difficult to follow the twists as the book came to a conclusion. I would definitely read more books by this author since she is able to create a well-written book that grabs your attention and holds it until the conclusion.
Tori Burgess is staying at her ex-husband's apartment while her home is being repaired and Brandon is in England. She soon finds herself dealing with strange happenings, including phone calls with heavy breathing and delivery of a single black rose inside the apartment while she is sleeping.
At the same time, she has begun dating a man who seems a bit off, a friend is in the hospital after a near fatal auto accident and the new doorman seems to be stalking her. While all of this is happening, Tori just wants to keep Brandon from coming home and putting himself in danger.
This was a quick read, full of twists and unexpected revelations. My only complaint is that the plot seemed fairly unbelievable and it was difficult to follow the twists as the book came to a conclusion. I would definitely read more books by this author since she is able to create a well-written book that grabs your attention and holds it until the conclusion.
Holy crumoli! This is one of the most creepy, intense stories I have read in a long time. If you're one of those people sleeps well at night knowing your security systems and video cameras are keeping you safe, you definitely won't after you read this one ... but you just might want to leave the lights on and sleep with a friend. The heroine is a recently divorced art gallery worker who's staying at her ex's condo while their (now her house) is being repaired after a plumbing disaster, but she's sure someone is watching her ... and then it gets a whole lot worse. Silent Walker will keep you on the edge of your seat and disrupt you sleep – but that's okay because you won't want to put it down until you've finished it anyway. A great read from Inge-Lise Goss.
Silent Walker is a heart pounding thriller that kept me guessing. From page one Tori's fear and panic jump off the pages. While staying at her ex-husband Brandon's apartment (who is out of the country on business), Tori experiences strange phone calls, break ins and has a sense of being followed. She keeps these events quiet to protect Brandon and to keep him from returning home. I was quickly turning the pages to discover who was behind these events. Tori and Brandon's divorce and subsequent friendship added a unique romantic angle to the story. If you're looking for a suspenseful romance I highly recommend Silent Walker!
Nail-biting mystery. Tori is staying in her ex-husband, Brandon’s apartment. A guy blames Brandon for the accident that killed his wife even though his wife was very drunk and hit Brandon’s parked car. Now a lot of strange things are happening. Brandon is in England and Tori is beginning to realize that a lot of things are not as they seem. It is definitely a page-turner and I highly recommend.
This is a brilliant read. Wonderful well written plot and story line that had me engaged from the start. Love the well fleshed out characters and found them believable. Great suspense and found myself second guessing every thought I had continuously. Can't wait to read what the author brings out next. Recommend reading.
I read a complimentary advance copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest review.
Tori couldn’t be married to Brandon anymore, but their love for each other has never faded. He would do anything for her including letting her move into his apartment while her home that he had built for them was undergoing repairs.
While he was working away the problems started, strange things happened around Tori.
A web of lies, deceit and mysteries keep you turning the pages of this well written story.
This was an interesting thriller. The characters were relatable and the plot was exciting. The mystery kept me guessing. It is a wonderful blend of action, mystery and psychological suspense-all the things I enjoy in a story....highly recommend. I received an free copy of this book and I am voluntarily leaving my review.
Great storyline that had me from the beginning. A number of incidents of stalking and black roses keep Tori on edge. She is staying at her ex-husband's apartment while he is in England. Someone is getting into the apartment and jamming the security footage. A number of twists in the story to maintain your interest. Highly recommended.
This was an interesting story. Although short, it kept me engaged throughout and just wanting to finish the book and see what was going on. Tori and her ex, were still on friendly terms, but as the story unfolds, parts of their married life come into question and the people behind the scenes that seemed to have caused their breakup. Lots going on in this story and well worth the read.
This was a really great short read! As far as psychological thrillers go, this one was extremely well written, and I found it hard to put down. The excitement continued throughout the whole book, and I was kept guessing until the very end. A great read!
I was just going to read a few pages before going to bed, but once I started reading, I couldn't put it down! Silent Walker as a thriller that kept me guessing until the end!
Tori is staying at ex-husband Brandon's apartment while he is out of the country on business since her home is under repair. Tori is getting black roses and unidentifiable strange phone calls. She's almost run off the road, there's been break ins at the apartment, and the surveillance video shows nothing. Her friend is almost killed in a hit and run. Are all these events connected? She's suspicious of the door man at Brandon's apartment, the man she recently started dating, and a woman. Who has been behind it all, and is it safe for Brandon to return home?
What an engaging author! .Inge-Lise Goss depictions of the characters are spot on. At times, writers can only sympathetically portray characters of their own sex. Not so with Elizabeth .Inge-Lise Goss, she is gifted in the art of exposing her characters personalities so well, that I feel as if I have personally become acquainted with them To me, the story line was incidental to my enjoyment of the skillful writing.I felt like I was watching a good old B&W 1940s movie. I will intersperse my reading of action, pot boiler, SF and literature books with this author's work. I think he had fun writing it; I know I enjoyed reading it.
This is the first in the series. The main character is Tori. She is divorced but staying at her ex's apartment while her house is being repaired. Suddenly she starts tp get heavy breathing phone calls. She feels like someone is always watching her. Then someone drops a black rose outside her door. Then someone leaves a black rose inside the apartment without setting off the security system. It all seems to go back to her ex's car accident. They seem to want to bring him back from England but she doesn't let him know she is having trouble because that would bring him back. It almost goes too far. Can she figure this out and who is behind it all before it's too late ?
Had me listening to sounds in my house. Good thing nothing loud happened while I was reading the story I probably would have hit the ceiling I was so involved with the story!
Silent Walker is an exciting romantic suspense, but mostly suspense! The plotline has twists and turns to explain the mysterious actions of the antagonists! It's a baffling mystery with a satisfying ending!
Oh I love psychological thrillers trying to play Detective. This was intense and exciting with great characters and plot. I really enjoyed it. You never know what's coming.
What a supenseful story loved it. Kept me guessing all through the story. I hope there are more like this. Couldn't wait to sto see what happened next.. Kept me guessing .. Definitely worth the read.
Great read. Well written. Good character development. Plenty of suspense, drama, action…. I dare any reader to not read it in one, or at most two sittings!
This excitingly intriguing novel leads her on a number of twisted roads, detours, and challenges before she eventually discovers the real way and true love!
