My new label wants to resurrect my career by sending me on tour with the smokin' hottest rock band on the planet. That includes the lead singer, Zeke, who I 'met' in a dark corner of a club the other night.
Getting stuck in a terrifying situation with a man wielding a gun, barely counts as getting to know one another, but it soon becomes clear none of the members of this band are what they seem.
Now I'm getting tangled tighter with six attractive guys. They all have difficult pasts. And powerful families who want them back at all costs.
Each of these dangerous guys holds a secret darker than the next.
Will their secrets destroy us before we find out whether or not the feelings we have are real?
This is a reverse harem, rock star romance with big instruments, mm and mafia families.
Pitch is book one in the Saving Abby series by Maggie Alabaster and Jo Bradley. This is my first time reading either of these authors. This is a rock star reverse harem series that was recommended to me in a group.
“When I first met them, I thought they were your average, arrogant rock stars. That wasn’t even the start of it. Not even the tip of the proverbial iceberg.”
Abbie Hart is a singer whose reputation has been raked through the coals and the label she was signed with did not support her. Now she has been signed with a new label, White Wolf Records, who already feels more like a family. They want her to go on tour with the world famous rock band, Wolf Venom which will hopefully help to win her public back. The first day in the new studio, she comes face to face with the same man she spent some very intimate time with the night before, the lead singer, Zeke Brantley. Maybe her days at White Wolf Records will be over before they even got started?
Zeke Brantley can’t believe it when Abbie walks in to the studio. He is just as drawn to her as he was the night before and definitely hopes to explore the connection between them further.
“There was something about her that drove me crazy. Crazy in the best way possible.”
I know the first book in a series has to concentrate more on introducing the characters, in this case, the members of the band. And the book started out with a bang! But things quickly slowed down after that. I didn’t really enjoy the characters. I felt like they were a bit immature. Being as famous as they were, I don’t know how they managed to walk around the streets of Sydney without the press following them. Abbie and Zeke definitely enjoy pushing their luck with outdoor sexy times. I can’t believe they weren’t caught on video. I’m rounding the score up to 4 because it was enjoyable, just not enough to convince me to continue with the series. Which makes me sad because I really wanted to fall in love with this.
Okay, so home girl is in a club and let’s some strange guy sit next to her. Okay cool! They say a few words then she lets him FINGER her until she gets off. I’m sitting here like okay then, we’re doing this. Then our girl gets under the table on her knees and proceeds and gives said stranger a BLOW JOB and of course he cums in her mouth 🥴😬 like girl you just met him and he might have something don’t let him do that 🤢
After this shit goes down he says something like a woman shouldn’t be sitting here all alone for so long. It’s my lucky day.
She says: "Not just lucky, I don’t let any old guy stick his hand up my skirt." 🧐😂 REALLY oh okay
Then she says "I HAVE STANDARDS"
HAHAHAHAHAH Girl your standards flew out the window when y’all got busy at first sight 🤭😂🫣
So I'm a sucker for a good rock star romance. I'm even more of a sucker for a good reverse harem. So when the two are combined, my interest is definitely peaked.
The story follows Abbie, who is trying to resurrect her career after a run of bad luck. She has a new record label and is sent out on tour with a currently popular rock band - after becoming intimately acquainted with the lead singer one night in a dark bar.
After a scary run-in with a gun-toting man, Abbie starts on her new journey of surviving her new role with the band and getting to know them, finding out there's more than meets the eye.
Did I mention there was mafia? Yeah, there's mafia. Interesting addition to the story and curious to see how that plays out.
I'm not going to lie, it took me a little longer than normal to get comfortable with the storyline as within the first few chapters, so much had happened. We open up with Abbie meeting Zeke at the bar and well, jumping right into things with him. And then they are held at gunpoint by a man. Then suddenly she's in a room with Zeke and his band, being told she'll be going on tour with them.
But once the dust settled, I found the story enjoyable and had fun being taken along for the ride.
The characters held my interest as well - Abbie isn't an overly strong character but she's intriguing enough to be able to be the heroine of the story. And the men are thankfully all different enough that you find yourself interested in learning who they are and what their backstories are. And of course we have the one jerk of a band member who fights Abbie the entire way - but I always like the addition of the ONE that doesn't instantly fall of the girl. Keeps things interesting.
All in all, this story didn't not disappoint, was a fun read and I'll be looking forward to the next addition to the series.
**I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.**
I just couldn't continue reading this. It was so bad. The authors took a typical romance recipe, threw in some bland rockstars, an uninteresting mafia something storyline, and called it a book. What a train wreck. Nope nope nope.
Not much plot or character development yet. I would like to continue reading this story line but it feels more like the first quarter of a book than the first in a series.
Man, there are so many hot men in one band. Abbie is at a new label after her reo has been torn to shreds and a botched 24-hour marriage. She just so happens to meet the lead singer of wold venom one night at a bar where sparks flew and some under the table action. Zeke went to take her home when a man held them to gun point. Abbie meets the band she is going on tour with, and it's none other than zeke and his 5 hot band mates. Now, these 6 men are hot Australian off the charts band. We have a couple of guys who are with each other and only share a woman. We have a quiet guitarist, a grumpy pianist, and then zeke bff on lead guitar. They all have sparks with abbie, but also its revealed that zeke and Asher are also tied to the mafia and zekes family want him back. This was a great 1st book in the series. Very quick read really setting the plot for the series. Loving how easy these men are like we all want her, so let's try, add she is very on board. She is a fun girl to read . She has a backbone and wit. But she is making sure she can survive this recent scandal and move on. Love finding new authors! Great start to this whychoose, rockstar, mafia romance.
I'm not sure what to say about it. Other then the fact that they are suppose to be doing music yet you rarely see it. All they wanna do is have sex. And this story linenif rock star/ mafia really this or these guys sound like idiots. Not strong intelligent men that's said they are. It so weird to here them talk. Like who talks like that they talk like immature teenagers. . Zeke saying doesn't want to go back but yet threatens as if he was in the life. Be in or be out. And let not forget the all asudden I'm Bi. He had been with his friend his hole life and now cause he got a dildo up the ass he all a sudden bi. It doesn't work that way but ok. Most of this book was really nonsense talk with them. And why was it just zeke and Abbie PoV even tho others where talking too. Ik there are plenty of the series so m sure others with be the same but with the other guys. So one last thing. Why does she act like being with or kissing one of the other is a bad thing. He already told her they all wanted her. And they really didn't say they were in a relationship.
It was a decent book. I'm a little disappointed because I remember when this first came out and I wanted to read it soooo bad but I waited until the whole series was out and by then I just forgot all about it...
but nothing happens. Gun. Head. Reuben. Cliffhanger. That's it. and some sex I guess.
I was waiting for something to happen and then the book ended. The guys basically insta fall for her, she loves sex, everything for her is about music or sex. she kisses someone for the first time? Her first thought is that if they don't stop, they'll have sex out in public. Hell, she basically did have sex in public multiple times.
I'm just not sure what to look forward to. There's no relationship building, just.. insta lust. There's no story so far. Lots of internal monologues, which I'm not a huge fan of. I want to read more but I picked this up as a music related book and it's more mafia so far.
Also, who's Jo Bradley? The end of the book makes Maggie out to be the only author, telling me about Maggie and books Maggie has written but nothing about Jo? Are they the same person?
Rockstars with a sprinkle of mafia? Well I’ll be damned.
The first couple chapters I wasn’t sure how I was feeling. The writing style seems to be different than what I normally read but once I understood the flow of it, things got better and it doesn’t hurt to add in the drama from the get-to.
Things are moving QUICKLY between band mates already and I’m here for it. This is definitely fast paced, which is refreshing after reading so many slow burns back to back.
I love all the band mates so far, including Penn. I’m lowkey hoping for Rueben to join the harem but that’s just probably because I love a older-bossy-asshole kinda man. 🫣
Also, I was NOT expecting that cliff hanger. Like who tf is out here chopping heads and delivering them first class like Santa?? Can’t wait for book 2!
Placed with one of the hottest bands on the planet, Abby is getting a rare second chance in the music industry. Dropped by her former label for making mistakes in her personal life, she is determined to keep her focus on her music but the boys from Wolf Venom make that impossible. However, getting involved with these guys makes her more than just a paparazzi target. They come with gun-wielding threats and baggage that includes heads. Still, worth it.
Rockstars and mafia. What more can you ask for? Oh, yeah, reverse harem. This book checks all the boxes. It's a bit insta-lust/love with little relationship development. I realized early on, despite the off-page violence, this is a light, fast read, so just enjoy. The characters are all likable and the chemistry is good. No one seems overly concerned about the threats and simply wants to make good music and enjoy themselves.
Love a good rockstar romance and this is great. Abbie has had some terrible luck, feel sorry for her until she signs with a new label and as part of the deal works with the band Wolf Venom. All the band members seem great and this book sets us up for some great RH action in the next book. Love how were all getting to know the band members and Abbie’s backstories. There’s Mafia in both Asher and Zekes families so be interesting to see how this plays out especially with Zekes brother Reuben. This is a pleasure to read, the characters I love and can’t wait to see what happens next.
I love sweet, supportive guys and a strong-ish fmc, Abbie. And this is one of those. Zeke comes across as a total sweetheart but with a strong core of steel running through him. There's also a mafia element going on, which provides most of the drama in the story. Asher is the other member of the band with the most character but by the end, the others are coming more into focus. Totally enjoyed this, the writing was great and the story held me from the beginning, all the way through to the end!
I’m loving getting to know Abbie and the boys! I feel the pace of the writing was on point and not rushed. We had time to delve more into a few of the characters while some are left a mystery.
This is very much a reverse harem spicy romance so if that isn’t your jam, you won’t enjoy it! There are multiple relationship angles as well, so again, if MM isn’t your thing, you won’t enjoy it 😅
I feel this book gives you just a taste and warms you up for what is next. I’m looking forward to book two and learning more about all the drama that unfolded at the end!
I liked the book. The characters are interesting, the storyline sounds great and seems to be flowing well.
But the whole experience was like watching a movie on fast forward. There is no mention of time so the events feel like they could be taking place over the course of a week or a month.
While I enjoy not being bogged down with backstory constantly, I feel like it almost did the FMC a disservice by not including more backstory on her as well as the more prominent MC’s in this book.
Abby is trying to get her career going again so when she signs with a new label, she is put out on the road with a popular rock band. That bands lead singer had a little meet up with Abby in the corner of the bar before either knew what was going on.
There were so many things at play in this book that kept me turning pages. What an interesting rock romance with a little mafia thrown in. I can’t’ wait to see what’s next.
Well, first time reading anything from these authors and they did not disappoint. Buckets of drama, super hot dudes on multiple levels and plenty of fun. Not completely sold on the main fmc yet, she's a bit wishy washy for me as it stands. She's a bit of a contradiction and I struggle to get my head round d that. Luckily you get the story from multiple pov so you can kinda focus on everyone else instead.
I absolutely loved reading Pitch(Saving Abbie Book 1)!!! All about Abbie a girl in mid-twenties a singer & Zeke Brantley who is in his mid-twenties a lead singer in Wolf Venom a rock band. Abbie meets Zeke in a club and they orally satisfy each other. Read about Abbie & Zeke and see what the future might hold for them. Lots of emotions and toe curling incidents occur. Definite Read!!! Can’t wait to read Book two!!!
Loved the first book in the series and tbh what is not to love there’s intense connections between the mfc and all of the men in her life, there’s lots of steam and intrigue. Mafia connections and a stalker/ killer on the loose. Love all the backstory with these characters and the connections between them all. I cannot wait to start the next book which will be as soon as I’ve posted this review.
I liked it, kinda. The entire story was something I was excited to jump into. Rock and roll, good guys v bad guys, harems and smutty behaviour… best book plot ever right!?
I mean it was full of moments that had potential to be HAF but then got glossed over and implied.
Some scenes were too quick and left undeveloped where the characters should have been… more.
I initially thought this was a baseball book lol I was wrong 🤦🏻♀️ It was the first reverse harem book I’ve read and I’m not completely sure how I feel about it honestly. There seemed to be two different plot points that weren’t very well connected in my opinion. If I do continue the series it would be solely because of the ending…I feel like I kept reading it because I wanted to see if it got better or if the plot would ever become a single story and I feel like unfortunately it did not.
It is a nice set up for the rest of the series.. There are a lot of characters introduced in such a short time which makes it hard to keep track of all of them. I am sure they are all worth introducing but there isn’t a lot to go on for the most of them.
Also… “panting through her nose” I don’t know what it is and why it bothers me.. but I could have done without the 3 times it was mentioned..
I'm always looking for a good reverse harem book - add that it's a series AND has a mafia theme and it checks all my boxes. Our FMC has had some really bad luck in her personal life that's put her career as a singer in jeopardy. She signs on to a new label to help change her image and enter stage left her harem. A well known rock band that she's going to go on tour with. Our FMC character has already met and had a sexy moment with the lead singer and this book explores their developing relationship and we get to meet the rest of the guys in the band and see how these relationships might develop in future books. I am looking forward to reading the rest of the series.
This is a very good Rockstar reverse harem. This is just the beginning of a series and one I am so excited for. In this book we mainly get to know the caracters. The guys all seem nice and there is some link to the mafia as well. The author does a great job writing a story that is believable and the caracters jump right of the page. Can't wait for the next book!
Wow!!!!! I am pleasantly surprised by this author. The characters are amazing. The story that is unfolding is riveting. There is never a dull moment. Lots of angst and mystery involved.
Although I really don't !one cliffhangers this ended with a very interesting twist.
You know how when you’re watching a B-rated movie and it’s soooo bad but you can’t stop watching. That’s what this book it. It’s def not an A lister, lol. It’s insta-love and pretty much insta-sex too with everyone in the band. A lot of multiple POVs which is good.
I flew through this book! I saw a promotion for the 5th book on Facebook and decided to give it a try! I was not disappointed at all!! Wow! This kept me reading until the end! Highly recommend!!
I liked the premise of this book, and the content was delivered decently well. But there was no sense of a timeline, which led to some confusion about how much time passed between scenes. The characters were pretty static and shallow. Rounded to three stars from 2.5
I am loving this book or I suppose series. This book feels like it’s just scratching the surface and I’m excited to see where of goes. I’m also enjoying getting to know all the characters. I can’t wait to see what happens next.
