WOW!

This book was absolutely incredible from start to finish. There was always something happening and the writing style was just phenomenal. I was completely drawn into this book the entire time, not one moment of boredom.

The characters are so well written and their personalities shine. Not one of them felt bland. I adored Saul and Reuben! They were hilarious, strong characters. I honestly loved every single character. I don’t think I’ve ever felt like that towards a book before where I enjoyed every character.

The twists and turns in this book were done perfectly. You won’t see any of them coming. I was so shocked throughout a lot of the book.

Grammar and spelling has never been an issue for me because if a book is good I don’t care about that stuff. But others do so I want to put your mind at ease and let you know you won’t find any. At least I didn’t.

The naming of certain things and places were all unique and creative. There wasn’t a single one that I disliked.

I highly recommend this book to anyone wanting to go on an incredible journey!

It’s fun, it’s serious, it’s mesmerising, it’s magical, it’s entrancing, it’s a really good read! You won’t regret picking this book up!

I had the amazing opportunity to beta read this book, and it is by far one of the best stories I’ve ever read. I was so immersed in the story and the world of Silk. All the characters were enjoyable and I loved seeing their character development. The world building and story telling that Rubina did was remarkable.

Sebastian has become one of my all time favorite characters, I absolutely love the way that he was written and his growth and development that we observe. Summer is an amazing main character with such an interesting back story. We’re introduced to so many well written characters and I loved seeing Summer’s relationships and dynamic with them blossom.

There were so many unexpected twists in the story, it always kept me guessing. I went through so many emotions the first time I read the book, I cried, I laughed, and I even had to close my laptop to just sit in awe and shock from what I read. I never wanted to stop reading and the ending left me excited to read the next book when it comes out!

I truly believe that everyone will be able to find something to love about this story and I highly recommend reading it to everyone who loves dark fantasy.

Summer’s story was perfectly molded and being able to see all of her thoughts through the events of the story helped to move everything smoothly. The pace of the book is perfect. Excited to see what happens next in the series 🥰

Silks :Summer Curse

Thank you to the author for this ARC.
I was interested from the start. Summer just buried her mother and now she's cursed. They left Silk yeares ago however Summer doesn't know why.
Sebastian her mother's best friend whom has promised to look after her.

I fully enjoyed this book and the world of Silk it's very well written. All the characters are unique and have a background which people can relate to you can also be of the characters and get into the skin.
I do have a few favourite whom I root for within this book Summer, Sebastian and Phillipe.

This book is very well written and I love how we have two different worlds. It made me cry I am so invested in this world I can't wait to read more.

One of my good friends absolutely LOVES this series and spent the best parts of her days trying to convince me to read it, so I knew I had to give it it a go!

I will admit, I was undecided whether I was going to really enjoy this one, or whether it would be just ok. I was interested enough up until the midway point to keep pushing on, so that’s what I did.

I am super glad I stuck it out! I thoroughly enjoyed Rubina’s world, meeting all of her characters with all of their different personalities. Her plot is very creative, not something we see very often that is outside of the normal. I’m so glad to have read something unique and different.

I did guess a couple of the plot twists in the end as realisations started to dawn on me, but there were a few hidden in there that I didn’t see coming AT ALL.

I enjoyed the darkness of this book, Rubina doesn’t shy away from the dark aspects, reflecting the theme of the book, and I’m grateful for it. Sometimes we as readers don’t want or need light and fluffy fantasy, and this was definitely not that.

I will definitely be continuing to book 2.

I had the amazing chance to read this book as an arc, so thank you Rubina! i loved this book so much! I feel like I just finished booktok’s new favourite fantasy.
this book follows summer and sabastian. Summer is a cursed eighteen year old, and she and sabastian have to go to Silk.
The characters felt really well written, and I think they’ll stay with me for a while.
I’m really excited to read the sequel, and the rest of the series. I will definitely be buying a final copy when it’s published, and you should too.

I absolutely loved this book. The world building and the unique magic system is wonderful and creative. The imagery was beautiful when I tried to imagine it while reading. I am in love with all of the characters and can not tell you enough that the last chapters had me so worried for what would happen. I will be looking forward to more on this series in the future and can not wait to see where this series goes.

I was fortunate enough to get an arc copy of this book. It is an amazing book. The lands, creatures, and of course all the characters. There's adventure, betrayal, story twist, family, and friends. I love when a book draws you in and when the book is done your counting the days for the next book. This is that book. I can't wait to see where Summer and all the people that have entered her life of Silk go. A must read!!

Noooo what's going to happen to Philippe? It left me hanging, craving more. This story unfolded itself with a deep want and curiosity unlike any other. It was excellently written, keeping you in suspense as the company tries to end a curse. There is pain, family and hint of love but what will become of them all as they sail on in the end? I need more and rather today than tomorrow. This book needs 10 out of 5 stars. I am so intrigued!

A debut YA dark fantasy with laugh out loud moments, and all the emotions. With the Vibes of the last two Harry Potter books, the Never ending story and the Hobbit.
Above all it’s an adventure story with secrets to discover, i really loved it. It’s not perfect but the author has immense potential, the writing is really good, very easy to read.

Thank you to the author and Hazel’s Booktours for sharing a copy of this book with me !!

“This isn’t London. The monsters here are real.”

Interesting, fast-paced and characters driven. That’s how I would describe this book. I actually enjoyed it. I don’t know if I was expecting anything from it but at the end of the journey, this story of a young girl, Summer, who has just lost her mother, finding herself with her mother’s best friend, Sebastian, in an unknown world because she needs to be cured from a curse … was really intriguing.
I really appreciated the fact that she got to discover some mysterious powers that she had while also running away from hunters, who seem to be after her!!
With multiple povs we have the chance to meet different characters and explore their side of the story. While I can easily say that the main characters Summer and Sebastian were pretty good, I have to admit that the role some side characters had in shaping their journey was quite important.
The action was good and the magic system quite original.
And twist and turns , some expected others not so much, defined the ending of this book. I’m very glad I had the chance to read a copy of it !!!

“No, she was definitely not the fragile and defenceless girl he’d taken her for.”

At her Mum’s funeral, eighteen-year-old Summer’s skin begins to flicker, before she suddenly disappears completely. Sebastian, a close friend of her mother, realises that she is cursed and takes her back to the magical land of Silk to find a cure – a place Sebastian never intended to return to.

I love reading about fantasy worlds, so I was drawn to reading about the world of Silk. There were some fantastic settings in this, with incredible descriptions, fast-paced action scenes, shocking plot twists and plenty of peril. The cover is also amazing, the dripping heart is so creepy. I also enjoyed the diversity of ages among the characters – middle-aged characters are often underrepresented in fantasy. However, I think I would have liked to have learnt more about the characters. While their characterisations were amazing, I’ve come away from the novel not really knowing that much about them. I also found the plot had a tendency to meander a bit, which made it a little bit difficult to fully immerse myself in the story. However, it’s worth pursuing to the end as I really enjoyed the ending. I wish the author the best of luck with the rest of the series.

I received this book as part of the book tour in exchange for an honest review.

This is an urban style fantasy. We’re following a a 18 year old young girl named summer after the death of her mother Joy. Her mothers, best friend Sebastian, has promised to take care of Summer following her mother death. Along the way Sebastian finds that Summer is cursed, a death curse. The only way to save Summer is for Sebastian to take her back to silk, the magical land that they escaped 12 years ago.

When I tell you, this was an amazing story. I cannot express to you how much of an unforgettable read this was for me. The characters are diverse, and well thought out. The book hasn’t even been properly released yet and I want Book two. NOW! This story has adventure, curses, magic, magical creatures, and more twist, and turns than I ever thought a bucket throw at me. A very action packed story.

There’s so many things that I absolutely adore( but I will not give any spoilers), and want to know what happens next. It does end on a nice cliffhanger, it is kind of cliffhanger I can kind of live with, the author is kind and did not trying to destroy us while we await the next release. So thank you for that.

Silk:Summer's Curse is a young adult fantasy book with an amazing cover and a blurb, which made me want to read it no matter what. I am a lot older than a young adult, but boy, is this book immersive!

The worldbuilding is amazing. The world of Silk immersed me completely. The characters enthralled me. Summer herself is someone who we see growing over the time it takes to tell the tale. Her back story adds so much to the story, and her development is clear to see. Sebastian is another character I liked so much, too.

The twists and the turns are almost constant, so it's easy to keep reading. The emotions I went through reading this surprised me. I cared for the characters and didn't want the book to end. I must say I miss Summer and Sebastian already!
Thanks to Hazels Book Tours and Rubina George for the gifted ebook for an honest review.

What a book...
I started this book and didn't know what to expect but I found an incredible story with a great pace and a world as unique as their characters.

Someone please take me to Silk 🥺

The magic on this, the way curses work is just one of my favorite things I've read in a long time and can't wait to know what is going to happen with our beloved characters.

I can only say that if you think the beginning of this book is great, you definitely need to keep reading. The second half is going to blow your mind and just when you think you figured all out, guess what? You don't 👀

Wow. Where to even begin. This book is an epic fantasy that stands out amidst other books of its kind. Described as a dark YA fantasy, it delivers not just fantasy, but hints of romance, betrayals that had me gasping aloud, and characters you will root for and against in equal measures. The more I think over the story, the more I enjoy it. This is definitely a book that made me want to jump right into the next one.
