Tiddalick was so thirsty that he drank up all the rivers and billabongs in the land. And the other animals had to find a way to get the water back.

I enjoy Dreamtime stories made accessible to all, they are quite entertaining and unexpected in their solutions and conclusions. Tiddalick hits all the right notes and is a quick and enjoying read.

If you are teaching an Inquiry unit about water it is a good way to incorporate Aboriginal stories into the content. It is good to teacher our students about dream time stories and incorporates Australian animals too. This is a great book to use!

The illustrations in this have aged really badly, but being a traditional story of the land it holds all the charm of the Dreamtime in an easy to read format.

The frog drank all the water and in the end an animal makes the frog laugh and all the water flows out of him.

A more appropriate name would be Tiddalick the frog who caused a drought. Another dreaming narrative story that was fun to read. Although I wonder at the end why the frog felt ashamed.
