I read this as a 7 year old myself and the stories have always stuck with me over the last couple of decades, I just had to get it when my eldest turned 7 with the hope of seeing the same stories light his face up.

My 7 year old recently finished reading this, and even she said there was only one decent story in the whole batch.

Some of the writing and syntax is absolutely appalling - a very bad example of how to write good stories. Congratulations Puffin, you almost put my daughter off reading!
