Whoa, this book went in a hardcore direction I wasn't expecting at all. I can't decide if this was a good thing or not. Part of me kind of feels like it was slightly forced (a pain medication addiction story shoved into this supernatural world out of nowhere), but then part of me actually really liked it because Joanne needed that reality check to bring her down off her haughty high-horse. Yes, I said it. All in all, I'm still reall enjoying this series, despite my giggles at the two nubs that appeared in this book. :D

In the third book of the Winged series, Ms. Pruitt takes us deep into the world of her angels and Winged, with a story that is in her words about love – “Love lost, love found, love regained.”

Joanne Watson fell off the Talmadge Bridge to her death only to find that a normal boring life is not the worst thing that can happen to a person. After falling to her death, she is given a choice to return to her old life, go to heaven or become one of the winged and fight evil forever, never dying and never going to heaven. Joanne chooses to become winged. During her first year she will meet and fall in love with Archangel Raphael, become a warrior who knows no fear, meet a group of fellow winged who will not only become her team but her closest friends, and lead that team against a rebellion lead by her once close friends, Gideon and Lucy. Joanne will be forced to make choices that make normal desirable, but Joanne is not normal, Joanne is one of the Winged.

Lost takes up six weeks after the battle against the rebels that took Angus’ arm, James’ eye, put Danielle in a coma and caused Joanne to kill friends, and all but lose the use of her right hand. Her relationship with Raphael is non-existent, and the remaining Winged have been forced to move camp to a remote location in Wyoming. After six weeks of practically wallowing in grief, The Power That Is has decided that Joanne and her team should go to the rebel camp as emissaries to try to negotiate with them. The members of the rebellion, now referred to as The Lost, are to be given a chance to repent their sins against heaven and the Higher Power, be forgiven and rejoin the Winged, or reject the offer and fall. Should they reject, the Lost will be hunted by the Angels and the Winged and killed. For Joanne the decision isn’t a simple one. Should she try to forgive those who have taken so much from her or refuse? All she really wants to do is lay down and give up. Can she or will she rise to the challenge that now faces her?

Ms. Pruitt takes us even deeper to the dark side in this new offering by giving us not just the spunky Joanne we’ve come to love but taking her down a path that she just might not be able to return from. We are warned in the forward to this book that “it is dark, brutal, and ugly. There’s death. There’s addition. There’s withdrawal and recovery.” Not only are we warned we are told if this bothers us, we should put the book down and move on. We were not lied to, at times while reading this book, tears were streaming down my face, the pain so real and so brutal I wasn’t sure I could continue. We are rewarded for continuing with precious moments from a savoir we would not have expected and even a little laughter as the mysterious Barry moves in and out of the story. The battles that we’ve come to expect Joanne and her team to go into are still here and they prove that even though they have been beaten and bruised, together they are a force to be reckoned with. Old friends return, we see a different side of Poppy than we’ve seen before and we get to know some of the other archangels a little better. Without giving away too much, I will say there is a scene just before the Grim Reaper makes an appearance where I had to put the book down and remind myself this is just a story, because I was crying so hard I could not see.

Ms. Pruitt did not pull any punches in this book, she warned us it wouldn’t be easy and that warning was so true, but the reward of a story well told was worth any pain we went through.

Lost is the third book in the Winged series. Joanna has been through a lot whether it is in relationships, attempts on her life or just trying to cope with being one of the winged. In this third installment of the Winged series Jo finds herself in a situation she never imagined.

Lost is quite a bit darker than the previous books, but the trials that Jo goes through brings you even closer to her character. We also see a different side to Michael in this novel, he doesn’t seem as harsh as he has in the past; in fact at times he is almost playful. It was so exciting to see that side of him as he has been one of my favorite characters from the beginning and I love seeing this new side of his personality. Joanne and Rafael still love each other but have issues to work out. It is amazing to me how these characters just keep continuing to grow.

This book deals with addiction and could be emotional for some readers. Pruitt did an excellent job portraying the pain and darkness of what addiction is like as well as the trials of recovery. As usual, Pruitt weaves and exciting story never lacking in detail, she makes me feel like a voyeur in the background. I feel as though I am right there watching all of the events unfolds. I’ve mentioned that this story has plenty of emotion and action, but let’s not forget the occasional hotness that goes along with it!

This is a series that I have loved from the start and the books just keep getting better and better. The ending just left me wanting more. I’m really excited to see what happens with Joanna, Michael, Raphael, and all of my other favorites in the next book. Any fan of the paranormal genre owes it to them self to read this series!

All the way through this i've been reminding myself and you that this is fiction....
This book...strayed right off the path that it had been wandering along. It felt like a totally different book.

The whole Angels storyline almost faded into the background and it became simply about a girl with problems, and a battle. im sad to say that this one, i couldn't wait to finish so i could put it down. i skim read alot of it. And i'm very disappointed by it. It was a relief to reach the end page, and as i realised its not the end, i actually felt kind of "oh no...." i'm not sure i can pick it up if i'm honest.

In this book its basically the Lost against the Winged/Angels.
Joanne develops an addiction to drugs. And the most far fetched thing - Raphael, Michael and Joanne decide to have a relationship between them - and all of them are okay with that....a thing i find hard to beleive. Its obvious to the reader that Joanne has more inclination towards Michael, and i feel a little sorry for Raphael as hes almost being strung along.
The sex scenes are no longer the refreshing change it was in the first book - its started to lean towards the unconventional with BDSM involved.

Technically, i think Ms Pruitt could have wrapped the series up in this book, but she has chosen to carry it on, and it feels too long winded now.

I'm sad that this book wasn't as good as the series started, and i never like to say that i didn't like a book as i know how hard authors work to get it to a place they're happy to publish it. And im sorry Ms Pruitt, but this last one, just didn't do it for me, and it did disappoint.

read on behalf of bewitching tours for an honest review

I read this book over 5 months ago and am still having trouble putting my thoughts into words. This 3rd installment in the Winged Series by L. M. Pruitt was a gut wrenching read for me. It was dark, thought provoking and hit me between the eyes.

What I liked: I know this is a fictional story in my head but some of the scenes were all too real. Joanne's "dry out" was stomach roiling and seemed all to real. How Ms Pruitt got to "that place" and wrote about it is an excellent show of true talent. You may not like everything about this series but just those scenes will stick with you for a lifetime. The overall story is action packed, well written and the characters fully developed. I DID NOT want this story to end!

What I didn't like: Not much. The main problem I have with the series overall is something very subjective and nit picky. These books are dark but I wish the covers were not. As I said, very subjective. Just looking at the covers, I wouldn't even read the synopsis. The blurb in a previous L. M. Pruitt novel caught me. I think she's representing the darkness of the Winged world with her covers but I'm just guessing. When the only thing that doesn't impress you about a novel is the cover, I think the author did her job more than well.

Highly recommend the Winged Series!

Many of us who have been following this series has seen the evolution of Joanne. Her wins and her loses. Her strengths and her failings. This book does a tremendous job of showing us Joanne’s still intact humanity and with humanity comes the trappings and addictions that anyone is susceptible to. It was amazing to see how far Joanne fell when she felt she couldn’t handle the pressures of what was going on. I also thought that the expectations of those around her blinded them to the problems that were going on with her. We have so much expectation for Joanne that we almost forget that she is/was human and capable of the same troubles of anyone else. I did love how Michael really stepped up and showed Joanne how he truly felt. I really look forward to how things are going to work out with her, Michael and Raphael. I missed Raphael in this book. I think he has paid for his sins and I look forward to seeing more of him in the next book. Overall, this was a much more emotionally charged book. It approached many taboo subjects such as addiction and suicide. I think L.M Pruitt did a phenomenal job propelling the story while adding depth and character to the story. This book is just out today and I already can’t wait till the next!

Lost is the 3rd book in the Winged series by L.M. Pruitt. She is an amazing writer that has a very special way of telling a story. This installment tells the story of the fallout from Uprising. Joanne has been through so much thus far, but now her inner demons are really getting the better of her. L.M. takes us on a wild and crazy emotional ride all through the story. Who can Joanne trust? Who are truly her friends? What will happen with Michael and Raphael? While reading the book I was happy, sad, hopeful and terrified of what the outcomes would be for Joanne. It has been a long time since I have read a book that makes me really feel such deep emotions. Even through the darkness, I couldn't put the book down...I just had to know what happened next. This is a definite must read!

LOST is the third book of the Winged series. Joanne made a choice. Help fight the forces of evil. It seemed so simple at the time. But things are never simple and now the rules are changing. Who do you trust when you can't even trust yourself? This time around the biggest demons she'll have to face are of her own making. Throw in a few "Oh my God! I didn't see THAT one coming." moments and LOST is a story that's hard to put down. Romance, action, more than a touch of the supernatural and just the right amount of mayhem means there's something for everyone no matter what your preferences are. Adult material not suitable for younger readers.

Book three follows the group from winged and uprising. It is a perfect continuation to the story after the events of uprising. All the characters are adjusting to various injuries. And the angels are getting hotter. The book was an emotional roller coaster, but it was written in a way that really dragged the reader in and it was an amazing ride. One chapter in particular was so beautifully written it broke my heart.

Note: Just make sure you read it as soon as possible after uprising. Myself had to keep going back to the previous book to remind myself about certain events.

This was an amazing end to the series. Its starts off really sad and depressing based on events from the previous book, and the main character goes through some really tough issues that I believe anyone could relate too. I am not happy about how the love triangle worked out, but I am glad she is with the one who I wanted. This series could continue and I would enjoy every moment of it, but it ended so I can honestly say I thoroughly enjoyed it.

So this book was another great part to the series. My only thing is that there were missing words or wrong words used. It seemed that someone did t check it before it was put out. I also felt it was shorter than the others.

This was intense and a lot of twists and turns. Surprises..... The next will be very difficult I think. To hunt the lost ... People that they know... Winged who have become lost... So very sad...
